Barcelona really resisted Real Madrid quite well. I guess that most people expected Real Madrid to just dominate the match and get a comfortable win. But thanks to Barcelona's dedication here, they didn't let Real Madrid get past themselves too easily. Real Madrid were barely able to eliminate them after extra time. Real Madrid was still the better side in terms of performance but I appreciate Barcelona for their great effort also.

Barcelona is beginning to excite their fans.I so much believe that with the last display they had against Real Madrid,fans are already happy with them and are ready to give them their full support.
The game between the two giants made me feel Xavi is really doing a great job at Barca and the players believe in his project,and his dreams for the club and are all ready to work with him.

It makes me feel really good to watch another superb game in the Super Cup after the El Clasico. Athletic Bilbao really impressed me by their determined effort. They did what was needed and went beyond the expectations by defeating Atletico Madrid by 2-1. And they won the game even though they were 1-0 behind. Atletico Madrid are still in a bad shape and they proved it here one more time certainly.

Well when you see ATM leading with 1 goal you have the feeling that they almost made it but what a disappointment to see them kicked from Supercopa.. I find ATM easier to win by Real Madrid, now they have to deal with Bilbao, which is a headache, you never know when they will play good and threaten you!

Yeah I think the same ideas with you trough Sevilla left five points with Real Madrid but still has one match more, if success win from left one match they will reduce only three points with Real Madrid and make more competitive. Depend how Sevilla can playing well on left match because right now just possibility for La Liga trophy is Sevilla and Real Madrid, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid missing far points from Real Madrid each other left than 16 points, although have 18 match I think not easy for Barcelona and Atletico Madrid getting close points with Real Madrid or Sevilla, just take way how to get four top position only as possibility for both team.

Yes indeed, Bilbao sometimes become a team that really threatens the top teams and that happens a lot in the league too. I just didn't expect Atletico to continue to have bad results and in this case, it seems to have only happened this season that I've had where Atletico are difficult to bounce back. Because from the previous seasons at least Atlético had a fairly stable performance but this season after getting the title, Atletico with Simeone seemed to have lost their magic. With this result, the Super Cup final will pit Bilbao against Madrid, where Bilbao has a chance to win this title for the second time in a row. But yes, it will not be easy because after all Ancelotti certainly has a target to get a lot of trophies in this first season and the opportunity is already there.

It still really depends on how Sevilla and Real Madrid end the match on matchday 21-34. I agree that Real Madrid will probably continue to consistently win every match, but I don't believe in Sevilla. Even though Sevilla are 10 points ahead of their competitors in 3rd and 4th place, but I think they will still drop more points in the next game. Real Madrid will be favourites, there is only a small chance of failing but that is not on anyone's mind at the moment.

I would have probably preferred the winner of the Laliga title to be decided at the end of the season and the title race to continue between Sevilla and Real Madrid. If possible, I would also like to see Atletico and Barcelona in the candidates but it is difficult for both teams because their points are too far apart.

Sevilla has a great opportunity to continue to pursue Madrid. What makes me not believe is the decline in performance from Atletico. I think Atletico has a bigger chance than Sevilla. but Sevilla played more consistently.
Madrid seems to have a few games in their favor to leave Sevilla. hopefully, they can still be consistent to keep getting points even though there are several matches with a fairly solid schedule.

I don't know if Bilbao is a worthy opponent for Madrid but if Madrid underestimate Bilbao of course something surprising can happen the key is Bilbao can't get space so their game doesn't grow.

I don't know if Bilbao is a worthy opponent for Madrid but if Madrid underestimate Bilbao of course something surprising can happen the key is Bilbao can't get space so their game doesn't grow.

Most interested with Madrid derby on Spain Super League than Madrid against with Atletico Bilbao, but Atletico Madrid this season is not the same like last season where success get La Liga tittle and now become bad performance team and always not consistent. I think Atletico Madrid need get confidence again how back to top performance and become competitor for Real Madrid to get trophy in this year because only Sevilla as consistent team, looking is easy for Madrid if playing well few match later and defeat Sevilla is the best way for making Madrid have far points from Sevilla.

Athletico Maldrid was completely out of luck and their first goal was almost saved by Unai Simon. Athletic club was too determined to take the lead and quality for the next round of the Spanish super cup. I love the passion and determination displayed which payed off. Real Madrid wouldn't be as easy as this for Bilbao they should just be happy they made it this far whatever comes up against Real Maldrid they should possibly take it up in good faith

It's two big teams that are struggling, with Atletico going up against Manchester United in the UCL, both of which obviously can't go any further. Indeed, Atletico's season is over but Atletico have not lost hope of still getting a ticket to the UCL next season, and then Atletico can come back with their best form next season and I think that's not a problem. Because the most important is the position of the top four which is their main target, after failing to defend the title is something that is not expected.

If Barcelona performs this game in the league, they will get the ranking that can go to the champions league. We are aware that Real Madrid is the leader of the league. They play well enough to maintain this leadership. The game Barcelona played yesterday gave me hope for the future. There will definitely be transfers and we will watch better Barcelona next year.

Agreed that Barca play very well yesterday but keeping that form for a long time, doesn't seem so easy. I don't know what kind of transfers will do but they still need work to become more solid and stable and I doubt that any newcomer will make such an impact. Unless Barcelona spends more than a lot, which is more than crazy with their financial problems...

Barcelona will probably choose new signings carefully as they have financial problems. Xavi Hernandez definitely has plans in mind for how to keep this form for a long time. Financial problems are not likely to be closed with success. However, if the club president changes, there is a possibility that old debts can be paid off. Or if by some other frenzy the club is sold. Of course, I see the probability of it being sold close to zero. Because Barcelona is an idol representing the Basque region.

I must admit that I really enjoyed the Atletico Madrid - Athletic Bilbao match also like I did in the El Clasico. Maybe Atletico Madrid seemed to be the favourite on paper but I wasn't believing in them too much to win this match. Because everyone knows how terrible they have been for many weeks in the La Liga. And there was no reason for them not to maintain this bad form here too. Athletic Bilbao benefited from their condition in a great way and defeated them by 2-1. And they are Real Madrid's opponent in the final round of the Super Cup.

But bilbao are indeed quite good in this match.
how they only lost possession but were able to make a powerful counter-attack and even a few times almost J. Oblak took the ball from goal for the 3rd time.
Atletico won in possession but that was about it, no dangerous attacks.
the 3-5-2 formation actually doesn't work well in my opinion.

Atletico Madrid - Athletic Bilbao match in the Super Cup ended really interestingly. The first half was more balanced but in the second half things started changing. Atletico Madrid started to have a difficult time against Athletic Bilbao. However they still were the first team to score. But Athletic Bilbao were so dedicated that they found 2 goals by only a 4-minute gap between them. And they secured the 2-1 advantage till the end. I think they really deserved to qualify for the finale.

Another disapointement for atletico fans and another poor performance as you said bilbao team totaly deserved the win they dominated and created more chances than atletico and its not surprising at all and now atletico team has only the cup to focus on since laliga is far away.

From the start of the match I saw that Atletico Madrid immediately played aggressively and even they managed to score a quick goal but unfortunately the goal had to be disallowed for offside, before the match started I thought Atletico Madrid could win easily but I did not expect if Athletico Bilbao managed to make a comeback and won the game with a score of 2-1, with that victory athletico bilbao will face real madrid in the final, and our desire to see the derby madrid  now has been in vain.

You never know with knockout games. Atletico weren't anyway thought to progress to 2 finals before and Simeone secretly wants it to complete his CV. Plus, if they win this, then they qualify as holders (okay yes that's far out but who knows). Every time an underdog wins a title it falls away the next season. Remember Valencia? Win, then lost, then won, and then downward trajectory.

Jan Oblak's a great guy just in terrible form this season. Form is temporary, he'll pick it back up again.
