It's nice that the rivals and title chasers take advantage of Real Madrid's unexpected slip up. I hope Sevilla gets all three points against Cadiz as they are supposed to. For sure the neutral fans who wants a more exciting end to the season would love to see the gap decrease even more.

Yes i think we are all rooting for a competitive season i hope sevilla get the three points but in my opinion they are not as strong as last season they are likely to drop points sooner or later and they seem the only ones able to compete against real madrid since betis who are on third position are 13 points away.

Rayo Vallecano loss yesterday to the Host Athletico Madrid...but then they can still fight hard and maintain Europa league position.
They can be very good at times, but yesterday wasn't for them, Athletico Madrid seems to have lost a slot.
Glad to see them back in good shape and performance.

Atletico madrid who suffered 4 consecutive defeats in the league finally got back to winning ways by beating rayo, athletico success in defeating rayo also made their current position rise and managed to occupy the top 4 position with 32 points, I think athletico madrid must no longer lose points if they want to stay in the champions league zone, because barcelona which is also slowly starting to rise is only one strip below Atletico current position.

I don't think this competition is more exciting significantly. This defeat of Real Madrid brings more hope to Sevilla and neutral fans but with Sevilla, they will probably not be able to fight against Real Madrid till the end. The quality of Real Madrid's players is much greater than that of Getafe's players, so it's only natural that Real Madrid are favorite in the match but Real Madrid's small mistake put Getafe ahead quickly in the 8th minute and then able to hold on until the end of the match.

But overall I just think Getafe were lucky enough not to concede because Real Madrid really dominated the game until the end. Real Madrid were just unlucky about the goals, but they were good.

In the previous season, Real Madrid relied only on Benzema for goals. This season they are dependent on both Benzema and Vinicius. Vinicius could not play against Getafe. We didn't get better gameplay from Benzema. Due to this Real Madrid could not score. They should reduce this dependence. Getafe also played a full defensive after scoring a goal. Only 10 of their players have played the role of defenders. This is one of the reasons that Benzema could not score. Real Madrid could have scored from a counter-attack if Getafe had been a bit more aggressive.

When I found out the result, I also immediately thought that it can be explained by the holidays and the fact that not all players are focused on football, but many think about their families and the holiday. But besides this, Real played in a sub-optimal composition due to Vinicius's quarantine - probably this affected their attacking power and damaged their simulated schemes.
Today, Sevilla should beat Cadiz, which is in second place from the bottom, and move closer to Real Madrid.

I must honestly say I am grateful Getafe made it. I now hope that Sevilla wins both games and the league becomes a little bit more exciting then. If Sevilla fails, it is going to be a boring season for all Primera División fans.

getafe appeared with a very solid defense in this match and indeed the 90 minutes passed very slowly for them because indeed they must continue to be forced to survive the sporadic onslaught of real madrid.

Yes and I also know they haven't lost the last 15 games all competitions combined, yet I think that one single mistake shouldn't be the decisive factor for such a game. A world class team must have the quality to win or against tie the game regardless of one single individual mistake.

i don't know what went wrong in this match but real madrid attack always run aground in the getafe defense with more than 70 per cent possession they can only kick at the goalkeeper only 4 times and this is one of the worst things in the last 3 games.
On the other hand, Getafe's defense in this match cannot be underestimated. out of 11 players 9-10 of them are behind the halfway line and are on defense

We have never lost, only 1 goal, Real Madrid did not counterattack which resulted in any goals. I don't know what the Real Madrid players think. It has been a bad weekend for Real Madrid and a really solid one for Atletico Madrid and Barcelona. I reckon that not many people were expecting to see Real Madrid getting a defeat by Getafe. I really wonder how Real Madrid couldn't manage to score. On the other hand, I remember their Cadiz game which they showed their best ever performance until then. Atletico Madrid defeated Vallecano by 2-0 and Barcelona did the same against Mallorca by 1-0. After these results, Atletico Madrid have taken the 4th place and Barcelona climbed to the 5th place.

And tonight, Sevilla have a golden opportunity to decrease the interval with Real Madrid in case they defeat Cadiz. And I believe that they will make it.

I agree with you. Sevilla should play a little more consistently. They should not lose points against weak opponents. In addition, their current rivals are a weak competitor in Cadiz. They must survive today. 3 points is very important to them. If they get 3 points in the missing match, as you said, there will be only 2 points difference. Last year, Lille finished ahead of Paris Favorite was Paris SG in League 1. Maybe Sevilla can do this in La Liga this year, too. There is a season that I want to be exciting. I hope we watch a nice championship race between Real and Sevilla.
