Atletico don't always have to get three points in every match because after all, their point gap is still very close. In fact, the points earned in fourth, fifth and sixth positions are the same at 24 points and indeed, when changes occur they can drop quite wide and rise quite high.

In current season mostly Atlético Madrid style is exposed, so they are unable to have better results and now as they are still going with their old style they are losing matches frequently against weaker sides in Spanish League like from their last five games they already lost against Mallorca and then Cadiz and having draw against Espanyol even they were mostly playing with their ten men team, but they steal the one point from them which is surely the worst case for the team like Atlético Madrid and then having draw against Rayo Vallecano and having just one win against Betis.
 
With this all now time for having improved performance and change of strategy because if they are not going to have things like this then surely they are going to be in trouble because few teams are already doing impressive performance which is going to help them for holding higher spot hopefully after break we will be able to have improvement in performance.

I believe that managers should be running teams for 10+ years if they are good enough, sure do not do that with horrible ones, but Xavi is a great manager and he deserves at least 2.5 more seasons to run this team and then after that time if he is still not winning anything then fire him.

Probably more than 10 years is a little bit extreme. I think every coach should be given a chance to manage for at least two seasons. After two full seasons, if he is still unable to make any kind of improvements, I think the club should look for other options.

Because nothing is going to happen if you keep hoping for things to happen as the owner of a club. And as the owner of a club, you need results, not promises.

So, I think if they give him a chance at least till the next season he will be able to bring in improvements and better results. A lot of people do think that Xavi Hernandez is overrated, but I don’t think so to be honest.  But I do think his lack of experience is causing a little bit of a problem.

I think there are 2 things at play. Real Madrid lose more points than last year, but you also have Barcelona, who have had a much better start this year than last year. Last year there was actually not a single team that could stay in the area. For a long time only Seville was somewhat close. Until this 14th week, there are still clubs that have not been able to taste a single victory, namely Elche. They are so pathetic by only collecting 4 points from 4 draws. 7 points behind Cadiz and Sevilla, and 8 points behind the safety zone currently held by Celta Vigo. In my opinion, Barcelona is still in the process of returning to its former glory. Xavi has a role play in the long term, but people always expect it to return instantly even in his second season at the moment.

This will be a challenge for Xavi to bring the Laliga trophy back to Camp Nou, It will be a struggle to end the three season without a title. Since Atletico is not a strong team this season, it is not surprising that they are eliminated from UCL. I am also not sure that they can have a better result when they played in Europa League.

It won't be easy, you have to know the character of Atletico Madrid's players at the moment and so if they change coach then I have to agree that a big overhaul will also have to be done. Simeone has a strong character regarding physical play and defensive strength, but this season has not been smooth for him due to tough competition in Laliga and the Champions League.

Simeone needs to build up the confidence of his players better because so far their forwards haven't been as good as expected. Nunez is even better for the character of Atletico Madrid than Liverpool, in my opinion.
