Atletico Madrid is in big trouble now. Barcelona have one match missing and when they win it they will become new leader. There is only five games left and I can't believe how Real and Atletico lose points at this stage. Even though Barcelona have a very bad start they are the favorite now. I hope Barcelona win La Liga and Messi stay here.

It's not totally over. They did do really badly in the last few games but it's still a good position for all three teams. If you asked them before the season started if they would all take their current league positions now, I bet you they'd all say yes, of course.

I really want Atletico to win... but as each match goes by, it starts to seem less likely. The Barca game could really prove crucial now, Atletico will need to win that one... but it's a huge challenge the way BArca are playing at the moment... they just don't seem to be dropping points, whereas Atletico are dropping them all over the place, even in the easier matches.

I was surprised too. I though the Real Madrid draw might have meant something to them, a motivation on how to gain more points and push themselves further up the league but I thought wrong. The worst of it all was them to have lost. Athletic Bilbao isn't an easy team to win though and they were playing from home 8n this particular encounter. This puts Barcelona in a very good spot to actually topping the league. At the moment, they have equated Real Madrid in points, still have an outstanding game that could put them on top of the table and end the Atletico Madrid's rain. What a turn of event, from third place and are now potential first place. Atletico Madrid have lost this title,  to have been so far up and now, are at the mercy of the league.

I wouldn't say Atletico Madrid will lose the title this soon because it's still possible to see them bounce back. But their consistency has recently declined so Barcelona and Real Madrid have benefited from it. There is still a chance for the top 4 team to win the title but yes I agree now Barcelona will be at the forefront but we have to wait for the result of the follow-up match between Barcelona vs Granada. Meanwhile, the current top 4 team have secured their place in next season's Champions League. Sevilla have secured their current position as representative for the Champions League.

If earlier the trump card of Atletico was stability, now there is nothing left of it, because it is not in the style of Simeone. If Atletico still want to continue to claim the title, it is necessary not only to beat Barcelona, but also not to lose points in the remaining matches, which in light of recent results is very doubtful.

I hope the Barcelona vs Atletico Madrid match will be a title deciding party, worthy of being called the final this season. But I find racing for Laliga this season very thrilling and more difficult than some other leagues.

It has now reached the end of the game and atletico Madrid are losing to atletico Bilbao, as it has endes like this it would be another three points dropped, and a dream weekend for Barcelona, who are a game in hand over Real Madrid, i think Barcelona would be 2020/2021 LaLiga champions and second by Real Madrid, Atletico should be thankful they had a good 2020 less they would be chased down by Sevilla, who has been playing well.

If in the next 3 days Barcelona can win against Granada, they will take 1st place from Atletico. I think who will win La Liga will be determined by the match between Barcelona and Atletico Madrid on 8 May. Whoever becomes the winner, will have a big chance to become La Liga champion. But if the match ends in a draw then Real Madrid still has a chance in the title race.

Barcelona couldn't have asked for better situation than this, given that a few weeks back everything was totally out of their control.

All Barcelona needs to do now, is to win the remaining 6 matches left and they'd be crowned champions, although I reckon that it's not goin to be an easy task

Playing Granada, Atletico Madrid and away to Valencia would never be easy regardless of Valencia's poor form this season, but it's all possible.

I am also not going to exclude Atletico Madrid from the championship race and the chances still remain and the chances are very good, despite the loss of points in the last rounds, but such results can hurt the confidence of the players themselves. Now the most important thing is to win against Elche in the next match, and a victory over Barcelona then can bring back the confidence of the players in their abilities. Simeone just said after losing the match against Bilbao about the current championship race, that whoever is stronger mentally, he will win the title.

Very sad Real Madrid failed to get three points from Real Betis and tonight hope both team Barcelona and Atletico Madrid failed to get three points, how ever if Barcelona and Atletico Madrid success get three points El Real have little chance to get trophy, how ever left match for Real Madrid still have Sevilla and become bad result again for Madrid.

A little disappointed with this draw. I don't understand Zidane, I think he chose the UCL champion over the Spanish league. Hopefully Zidane really planned perfectly, I didn't expect him to fail with either one. I hope the return of Eden Hazard can add strength to Madrid at UCL.

Suarez will have mixed feeling in that match but it is not a matter for the club. The club have problems in many weeks and D Simeone can not manage to fix it. More points have been lost in recent matches and all of lost points put A Madrid in the verge of failure for the whole tournament.

Lose the big clash against Barcelona and lose the La Liga. Win it won't secure the chance to win La Liga for them.

I must admit that I was really shocked when I saw Atletico losing to Bilbao. Because Bilbao had a really bad form and it was one of the crucial games for Atletico on the road going to the championship. After this loss, Real Madrid decreased the point difference with them to 2. And Barcelona have a big chance to take the lead if they win their missing game against Granada home 3 days later.

Really bad result for Atletico. I think now that Barca will win the title. They are winning all their games, the only exception was their defeat in the Clasico. Atletico's only chance now is to beat BArca when they play them, otherwise I think their chances are over for this year.

One thing to remember is that Real Madrid have the advantage in head-to-head results should these teams finish level on points.

Yeah, I have to admit it too, I'm getting doubtful of their chances with each passing game. The only thing saving them now is Real also not playing well, plus they still have a chance to meat us (Barca) and beat us. But 5 games is a lot of games left and they arguably have the tougher round of opponents left not that I will leave anything on paper for a decision!

Yes. I watched week by week as Barcelona and Real Madrid closed in... I always thought Atletico had a big enough lead so that a couple of bad result wouldn't matter. Unfortunately they dropped a lot of points, and continue to drop points... just at the same time that Barca and Real finally hit some good form.

So much at the end of the season is about current form... and Atletico could end up finishing third. Or even fourth, as Sevilla are in red-hot form and closing in fast.

Even if I have to be neutral I still believe Madrid still have a chance but indeed, Madrid have quite a tough hurdle. Madrid have to play against Chelsea in CL and also, Madrid still have to play against Sevilla and Villarreal and this is like a very difficult target to go through to keep getting 3 points or at least not dropping points from every game so there is still hope there.

But I think Barcelona has quite a lot of motivation to win this match. Real Madrid has quite enough games remaining. difficult. The game against Sevilla and Athletic Bilbao will be quite difficult and possible loss of points. I think everything will be decided in the game Barcelona Atletico Madrid. The winner of this game will be the champion.
