it was really a disappointing match of course for real madrid fans because losing against villarreal was definitely something to be surprised at when real madrid was really in good form, but villarreal played better, this is barcelona's chance to get away from real madrid if you can win against athletico madrid, even though everyone hopes real madrid will win but the reality is not the same, hopefully barcelona doesn't have the same fate

Bad news for Carlo ancelotti after losing to Villarreal which was one of the golden game to surpassed barça. Real Madrid failed to win Villarreal which would have put them first on the laliga table with 3 points gap from their pre-eminent rival, Barcelona. The yellow submarine hosts the Los blancos at the Estadio de la Cerámica and came out with a slightly win of 2-1, really a devastated moment for madrid which were hoping for a shared points. Barcelona will face another tough opponent in laliga and this time around, their ultimate results would be to win.

Both Real Madrid and Barcelona have the same amount of points which is 38. However, the differentiating factor is that Real Madrid have played one match more compared to Barcelona.

So, if Barcelona is able to win the next game against Atlético Madrid, which will be one of the toughest games they will have to face, but still if they are able to complete the task they will be ahead of Real Madrid by three points which is a big deal in my opinion. Now the title run will depend on Xavi's tactics.

And I have to say that I am very disappointed with Real Madrid as they have lost 2-1 to Villarreal.

This depends on the performance of Atletico Madrid in my opinion. Éder Militão has played decent enough in this match. I thought that even though he was not supposed to play on the right side, he did live quite well. Of course, the best performance for Real Madrid was from Luka Modrić. I really think that this was a case of Real Madrid underestimating their opponent. I also do not think that they actually took enough preparations for this match.

I am not saying that Villareal is a bad team. They are actually a very good team. But there was no way Real Madrid should have lost this match. Obviously, the performance from Real Madrid was not up to the mark. It’s not like Villarreal played really well in this match. I just think that Real Madrid did not play well enough.

It seems that Eder Militao is not suitable to play on the right wing, even though he didn't make any fatal mistakes in that game either. Real Madrid did not play better than Villarreal, causing them to lose, plus Real Madrid's defense was not so strong against attacks. Villarreal started pressing from the early minutes, so that Real Madrid had difficulty keeping up with Villarreal's game, Penalties Gerard Moreno in the 63rd minute put Real Madrid under even more pressure.

Because obviously, Barcelona is ahead of Real Madrid in terms of goal difference, even though they are even in terms of points.

If he meant that Real Madrid is ahead in terms of the quality of the squad, I think that would have been much more accurate. Because Real Madrid does have a very balanced team right now. Barcelona will play Atletico Madrid in the next match. And if Barcelona can win that match, or even draw, Barcelona will get ahead compared to Real Madrid in terms of points as well.

Yes, Real really surprised me yesterday (and ruined my bet). Now I understand that perhaps the bookmakers were right when they gave Real to win odds greater than 2, although in any case it is strange since Real is the reigning champion.

Real Madrid actually lost the match against Villarreal. That is the only reason why they are still at the same points as Barcelona. And that is also the reason why Barcelona is going to get a chance of getting ahead in terms of points compared to Real Madrid if they win or even draw their next match.

So far this season I think Barcelona are relying too much on Lewandowski, so when Lewandowski can't play, it seems like Barcelona is having trouble scoring goals. Worse yet, even though Lewandowski can still be played as in the previous match when Barcelona played against Espanyol and in fact Barcelona was held to a draw.
In today's match against Atletico, Lewandowski cannot be played because it is still about punishment due to the impact of the red card received by Lewandowski.

So, with Lewandowski not in their squad this match and moreover the opponent is a strong Atletico team, then I'm not sure Barcelona will win.
