It's really difficult for Madrid now because with a gap of 9 points and their condition that they haven't fully returned to good form, this is clearly a real obstacle for them.
Ball possession and chances I don't doubt that for Madrid but they are still very bad in terms of goal productivity. Even if we look at the 5 goals they managed to score at Anfield, they could only score 1 goal in the next 3 matches in all competitions.

seeing Barcelona consistency in Laliga it looks like it will be quite difficult for real madrid to catch points from barcelona. Barcelona will make the best use of this point distance to be able to become champions this season.  Indeed, Real Madrid can still cut the gap in points from Barcelona if performance is more consistent in the remaining matches.

Real Madrid promising victory over Liverpool in the Champions League shows how focused Real Madrid is in the Champions League.  It was as if they let Barcelona go smoothly in the fight for the Laliga title.

I also understand that it may feel like attacking of Barcelona is not perfect right now. I am not saying it is. But Barcelona is working very well with the midfield. The midfielders of Barcelona are world class. That is a big reason why Barcelona is very confident going into any match even after knowing they have a lot of weaknesses.

Alright, now that Barcelona is 9 points ahead of Real Madrid, I think most of us are talking about it. To admit that they are better than all the other teams in La Liga, that's good.

I'm curious about what really made Barcelona go crazy this season in La Liga when they failed in the Champions League and Europa League. They should be able to have the same strength in all the championships they participate in, but in Europe Barcelona is completely different. I think that the mentality of Barcelona's players is not yet fully ready to compete with other top teams in Europe, but I think they will be better next season. Xavi needs to fix this problem, he will get a good rating as a coach.

If they successfully knock Barcelona out, there will be no other option but to let Ancellotti go, he's been a great coach, but they need proper coach to start all over again next season. Barcelona also has all it takes to win the League. Xavi will see to that, he has to win to save his job with Barcelona, results are the only backing he will stay longer.

There's a real battle going on between Ancelotti and Florentino Berez, and all that started after they lost against Barcelona in the Copa Del Ray. The press reports say that Berez wasn't satisfied with the lineup chosen by Ancelotti in the last matches, like the match against Betis and Atletico Madrid. In my opinion, Berez wants to put some pressure on Ancelotti this period, because Real Madrid has decisive matches in the coming weeks, whereas they are going to meet Liverpool in ECL, Barcelona in both La Liga, and the second leg of the Copa Del Ray. Therefore, this period could decide the whole season result for Real Madrid, and maybe Berez wants different actions from Ancelotti. However, some names started to be linked to the Real Madrid manager's position, like Mauricio Pochettino, who is offering his services to Real Madrid, according to a press release.

Lack of motivation is no less serious problem than psychological pressure. Barcelona were knocked out of the Champions League, out of the Europa League, but they practically secured the title in La Liga. Probably the only thing they're looking forward to is the Clasico, so I wouldn't be so sure that in a game against Athletic (which by the way concedes quite a few goals) Barcelona will definitely win.

Do not focus much on one game played by ATM to confirm their improvement. It has been a while where ATM is fluctuating much. They have good players and an old school coach, yet they still miss points. Scoring 6 goals was good but it doesn't look far from Liverpool victory with 7 goals vs ManU. It might happen but will not definitely happen again that way.

Of course I don't want to exaggerate their general performance. Because they are still not having a good season at all. They are out of every tournament now and they aren't even in a title race in the La Liga.

It is at least good for their consolidating their position to join the Champions League. But even if they qualify for that tournament Simeone's general management style should still be criticized. I still have doubts that he will be staying there by the end of the season. Atletico Madrid really deserve a change to be more successful. Simeone's golden age at Atletico Madrid is long gone now. They have a really good squad that have a better potential than this. They should have a manager who can make use of it in the best way.

Barcelona caoch Xavi must have a good focus on the Laliga because that is the only trophy for now that he could look unto and smile at and have a great conviction to soldier on.
Altletic bilbao is not a conder for the title and does not win always but they have the capability of making you not to win. But we have nothing to bother about because even Barcelona rivalry is not serious to overtake Barcelona.

I really think he is doing a great job of making Barcelona at the top Standing, even though all of their winnings were 1 goal only, but a win is still a win, and surely Barcelona is way up the standings, while Real Madrid is having a difficult time fighting now I think Barcelona can surely keep the pace in just winning important games when they needed it, but surely Xavi is all to thank for all of this if it's not for his coaching they will never use Lewandowski effectively and using him while not relying too much on Lewandowski has proven the level of team Barcelona has,

Oh sorry but it's easy with just one commitment (La Liga)

Atletico Madrid have underperformance in this season between domestic league or eliminating on champion league group stage, but tragic with Atletico failed qualify to Europe League after finishing as bottom standing position on group stage. Despite Atletico Madrid on 3rd standing and potential qualify to Champion League next season is not impressive performance because gap 17 points left behind Barcelona on first standing position.

Simeone have been long term with Atletico Madrid and success give La Liga tittle but current drop performance last several season need evaluate with his future in Atletico Madrid.

Barcelona should face Bilbao in a few days but this game can't be a hard game for Xavi and his players especially when we think according to some news there is a chance for their forward Lewandoski to return in this match and maybe Xavi will surprise us and start the game with Lewandoski or let him play for a few minutes in the second half of the game to make him ready for the next match they have agist Real Madrid which can be a very important game for Barcelona.

Agree. It will be an easy match for Barcelona. Bilbao isn't in a good form in the last 3 matches, while Barcelona looks more consistent to win. Moreover, their priority is to win the La Liga title, they shouldn't waste the opportunity to get 3 points away in Bilbao home. If Lewandowski can play in the match, the chance to win will be higher. So, I am sure the match will be easy for Barcelona, they will get another 3 points.

Real Madrid's giving up on the La Liga title so early is making me very disappointed. Ancelotti is still unable to keep his players completely concentrated on their league games. Yeah maybe they are going to join the Champions League anyway even if they end the season at the second position. But still the fans are hungry for titles obviously. The board expectation must be the same as well.

The only way they can make up for that loss of title would be to win the Champions League title on one hand. In that case the team would still be in high profit in this season.

The reason behind Real Madrid's loss of domestic league form lately has actually been unclear to me. But I know they have a great manager in Carlo Ancelotti who is a UEFA Champions League expert. To me they are  the team to beat in this season's Champions  League competition and I have strong feelings that they are gonna make it to the finals and probably retain the title at end of the season. They might not be that good in La Liga but they surely know how to beat other teams champions League.

Villarreal is a good team overall although they miss many opportunities to improve and fight for top places.
Not sure if they could keep the actual ranking in the next rounds since they will face Betis, Osasuna, Sociedad and Real Madrid successively. A draw vs these teams and a potential victory against Osasuna might save them during their hard journey just after their Conference League game.

A bit surprised that if there was a media that makes a news about DAZN and CVC breaks their contract with la liga yet la liga has been taking a fast step to make a clarrification about that.

We do know that if DAZN and CVC have become major sponsoship for la liga.

I don't know whether what was already stated by el espanol was true or not caused by DAZN and CVC has not given any clarification about that. 


It seems like that real madrid is still struggling with its performance in the attacking line. The draw in the last match has been forcing ancellotti to gamble for the upcoming match by implement the new formation. I think that ancellotti must not use or repeat the same strategy over and over again. Real madrid must not miss more points in upcoming match against espanyol.

You are right. Real Madrid is well behind Barcelona in La Liga this season. And I don't think Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti is worried about their position in La Liga. They have dropped points against relatively weak teams in several matches. It seems that Ancelotti is completely focused on the Champions League match. I say this because Madrid won the Champions League match against Liverpool by a huge margin of 5-2. But they lost points in the next two La Liga matches. Madrid even lost against Barcelona in the Copa del Rey match. Perhaps Madrid is not worried about La Liga or Copa del Rey matches. They want to win the Champions League title.

When La Liga comes to last 14 matches, the gap between Barcelona and Real Madrid is 9 points that is big enough. Especially when we count for recent poor performance of Real Madrid in La Liga, it is impossible for them to equalize it and I even see a risk that Real Madrid will let Barcelona expanding the gap to bigger than 9 points.

Their recent forms in La Liga are oppositely that plus with their different situations. Barcelona no longer have to fight in Europa League but Real Madrid still participate in Champions League. If Real Madrid successfully beat Liverpool after a final whistle at Bernabeu, they will likely spend less focus on La Liga in coming weeks. This will give Barcelona more advantage in their race in La Liga.

It is strange for me too but it seems their old players hit their physical limits after two season playing many matches in the past season and in this season plus with World Cup 2022 matches too. I don't think it is coincidence that Real Madrid performance in La Liga became worse after World Cup 2022.

To me they are  the team to beat in this season's Champions  League competition and I have strong feelings that they are gonna make it to the finals and probably retain the title at end of the season. Barcelona has won their last three matches. However, they won only 1-0 in the last three matches. From this, it can be assumed that the performance of Barcelona's forward is quite weak now. So Atletico Bilbao has a chance to earn points against Barcelona. If Bilbao can keep their defense tight then they can weigh in on the points. However, Athletic Bilbao's performance is weak now. We don't see good performances from them in the last three matches. Atheltic Bilbao will play at home against Barcelona. So if Barcelona wants to secure the full 3 points, Barcelona's attack must play well.

Here I am not agreed with you about Athletic Bilbao vs Barcelona still they are capable of having full three points from them in away match as they are conceding goals regularly even against weaker sides which is clearly giving disadvantage to them and their attack is also not as they need to be for having better spot in League table Barcelona lost against Almeria is surely shocking, but now they are settled and having good form which give them win against Valencia, and they can take full three points in this match against Athletic Bilbao as well.
Robert Lewandowski absence is surely hurting, but now they are improving with replacements as well which is positive for them and their hopes for the title as well because now they are playing alone in La Liga and have not busy schedule which bring problems for the players.

How sure are you that Barcelona will get three points in this match? It is not possible to say for sure. Maybe Barcelona's team is stronger than Athletic Bilbao. And they're a pretty consistent team. On the other hand, Athletic Bilbao's performance has not been consistent. But don't forget Barcelona's team lost the last away match against Athletic Bilbao. So there is no way to think of this group as weak. If Barcelona makes any mistakes in this match, they are likely to lose points.

Lewandowski is the most important player in Barcelona's squad right now. And it is a bit difficult for Barcelona to continue to perform consistently well without Lebanon. Athletic will be without Lewandowski, Dembele, and Pedri against Bilbao. Without these three key players, it will be difficult for Barcelona to have a stable performance.
