Is the lack of a striker in the Real Madrid team the reason they didn't win today? I guess no because the Madrid squad that played the game today is the same squad that has been winning games both in the league and the champions League so we shouldn't complain because the game didn't end in their favour today. I think we need to commend the home team for doing a very good job in their defense today and it was also a hard luck for the Madrid team who couldn't get a second goal even after dominating the game in possession and ball control, they didn't get all three but they are still ahead of Girona who will be playing away to Bilbao tomorrow hopefully they get a win to keep the title battle going.

The main problem is the financial situation of the club. As long as they do not fix the financial situation, it is not going to improve for them. Even though Barcelona did get good performance for which they got him. They got a pretty old player for 50 million. That is definitely a lot of money especially considering the situation that Barcelona is in right now. And I believe Barcelona should have spent that money to get a younger player who could have performed better and for longer period of time as well.

But at the same time we also have to look at other fact. Potential young players are not going to go to Barcelona right now because of the financial situation of Barcelona. So I also cannot say that Barcelona made a huge mistake.

About the defense of course Barcelona is weak on the defense. But the question is how do they fix that when they do not have good amount of money?

There is no doubt that Lewandowski is very experienced. Lewandowski also  has the ability to score a lot of goals. But Barcelona should not rely on just one player. Barcelona need another experienced striker. At the same  time, Barcelona will also need to find a replacement for Lewandowski. Lewa is now 35 years old. Barcelona should look for  an experienced striker between the ages of 26-30.
Barcelona will probably get better  performances from their young players. But I think Barcelona will need at  least 2 more years to get good performances from these young players. If the players  are not experienced enough, they do not consistently  perform well. Barcelona is  unlikely to win the title this season. If Barcelona want to fight for the title next season, then  Barcelona must add another  experienced striker to the squad.

I do agree that Lewandowski has a great high quality, but sometimes our body is not as good as our brain. He fit well for that club if you ask me, not as good as when he was at Bayern, if he never left Bayern he would be still scoring now, Kane is having harder time there, and he is much younger. However, we should remember that we are talking about a guy who is 35+ years old now, and he may have some body issues that gets more and more.

This could cause him to not be as good as he used to be, and that is why he is ending up with these results. I think he should not be signed again, sold to some other club and Barcelona should look for a quicker striker. Suarez type of players work better for them. Xavi will be gone, lets see who will replace him.

With what I've seen so far from the club, I'm very optimistic that Barcelona will finish the season in the top four but I don't consider as a story contender to win any trophy this season

TBH by looking at what happened in today match especially with the quick goal scored by Joselu it actually gave a very good hope for Madrid its just that the defense is quite good and some mistakes in defense that result in losses for Madrid including the penalty return goal make this a little complicated.

The injuries came by surprise and we never expected them to hit them these hard. They have found ways to win game regardless of how it goes.
