I am also of the same opinion that even if we are slightly interested in these sort of art contest then we  should take part in it and learning and taking part will boost your self esteem and make your skills sharp even if you are not winning.I am hoping to take part in the upcoming one of Roobet and diversify my hands on this field also.

By the way you also have some good creative skills but the fact is there are some professional like Maus0728 who wins most of them and he is skilled and professional artist from whom we can learn lot and how to bring up artwork in attractive manner.But still try your best and who knows what the team might like.

As I said, I don't feel offended when I win nothing from this contest because I enjoy the process of creating something arty, and I would never do it if there weren't at least a slight chance of earning something from it, either merits or money. Sorry for being so materialistic, but I read(or was it in a movie?) some time ago that art should sell itself, and I accepted the idea, and I've never changed my mind on the topic since then.

I am not agree with your point that you forum member submit their arts to get merit. They submit their art as it is a competition. It is not a fact either become winner or not. If those person who would not be winner would not take part on the competition then no competition would happen in the world.

Art is definitely a subjective thing, as I have always said, I do not like Mona Lisa, well I do not dislike it neither of course but I just do not have enough art understanding to appreciate it. In today's world there are so much better art to me but obviously I am wrong since majority of the world sees that as a great art, obviously I am missing something there to appreciate the beauty of it, but to me many graphic designs are better.

Well I think if your entry received a merit from users its a bonus for participating even you didnt win. However I dont think it is the main reason for some users on why they're joining on the art contest. The prize is generous enough to disregard and the reason why many participants are joining and exerting an effort to execute an art that can be chosen as one of the winners. I hope they will conduct an art contest again soon.

Merits is not a point in these art competitions as you could check the winners entries might not have single merit sometimes so it doesn't matter at all because the scope is limited to that thread only.The main thing is competition (win/loose is part of this) and getting experience with it.We see new types of creative art and hope we have more of it soon.

If they can make great arts, they deserve merits for their works. If they just make shit posts and receive merits, it can be matter of merit compromise that is easily detected.

Roobet run many art (digital or hand-made) and I watched those threads sometimes. Frankly there are participants with great arts and I don't think any issue with their merited arts. I can miss something people are discussing here but in the past, I did not see merit abuse in Roobet art contests.

Definitely not. I'd say it's always the tempting prize pool from Roobet art contest that most participants joins this event. As far as I'm concern, I think the merit involvement in the art contest is already diminishing especially if we talk about Roobet. Well, you may be correct on that notion but I'd say as a participant from the past is that I'll always eye the cash prize no matter what besides if I win I'd let it gamble it on the site too but I'd take some to cash out, that's a hard fact.

The merit exchange problem exist before art contest happen, but since we're not really strict anymore about merit exchange so they're not getting red tag. Of course it depends on case by case, if someone can proving they've cheating on campaign they'll got red tag.

People meriting art because of hardwork, respect etc, just like how people meriting post because of the hardwork, quality etc. If meriting art or memes is wrong, why not creating a topic in Reputation instead?

Another thing is, merit is not guaranteed, you are at the mercy of the people who will give it to you and if they do end up giving some to you then you could do it but in the end it is totally up to guess if you will get anything or not. Same goes for roobet competition prizes as well but at least you know that you will be in contention, they will look at it and if you have confidence on your art work then you are going to win something if it is as good as you think. That is why I do not think that it is done for merit, but it is done to win something. I doubt that there is a single person who posted something to get merit without any belief they would win anything else.

I don’t know what’s the issue about getting merit here, maybe they don’t appreciate art that much and think like an abuse, well its normal especially if they are not participating on the art contest, probably they are just jealous. Roobet is hosting a great campaign almost every month and with the Art contest, many are participating because of the reward, merit is just a bonus for them.

When it comes to various tasks or requirements for you to be eligible in terms of lottery type selection then you could really always have the chance on getting on the spot since odds would be definitely just the same but when it comes to other competitions or promotions specially on hitting some multiplier or wager contest then this is where people who does have bigger funds would be separated into
those average gamblers.

The difference from competition or contest from giveaway is that competition requires effort and expertise without expertise and effort then it can be sure to lose while participating in the giveaway is not needed such a thing, all can follow and the opportunity to win is really based on luck only.
