Never heard of yubikey, but Google authenticator is definitely a much better alternative to using a mobile number for 2FA, but there is a critical issue associated with it which I experienced myself.

The issue is that backup keys are necessary to restore 2FA accounts, but most newbies aren't aware of this stuff and end up getting screwed later on.

I can't say it's impossible but currently the trust they have from their gamblers and the reputation they have, They are most likely to behave well and be gamblers friendly after years they have in the industry.
