Day 1 end for the ESL One Kuala Lumpur. Few surprises as 9 Pandas and LGD performing subpar. Gamin Gladiators lost map 1 to secret, that was out of the blue as well, as I was expecting GG to 2-0 that matchup.
Those that have 0 loss for this day 1, they've got advantage that they won't get out of this playoffs.

Whilst those that are under and part of the bottom 2 and 4, this is going to be hard for them. This is a points system and much worse if there's a tie on the day 3.

Most teams really need to do their best to take their momentums on the very first day because if they don't do so, they'll have hard time on the second and remaining days.

I've watched the game of Azure Ray and Blacklist Rivalry, both ended up today with a 3-1 and that's a good start for both teams. Whilst for Wawitas Sagazes, they're like a bonus round for the first day.
While you and I are watching Azure Ray, in Group B LGD and 9P are losing and sliding down the table. In 2 hours they will play each other, there will be a battle of the titans))

Azure Ray have not lost a single map yet. I think they will win the tournament.

Alright, this rumor tend to be true and Team Undying's team name now changed to Tundra Esports. This is a nice move for Tundra so that they'll still have their organization in the meta, former TSM/Undying players ain't that bad at all. Knowing that there's not that much competition in the NA scene, so this is a smart choice for them.

And guys, guess who's back?
News: Chinese Dota 2 legend Ame returns to pro play with Xtreme Gaming

Who is excited to see Ame in the pro scene again? I know that most of the fans here including me wanted him to see reunite with his former gang in LGD. Currently, Xtreme Gaming is just composed of two player, him and DY. For sure that there are arrangements already and we'll need to wait further about their announcement on who are the other three players that will be added to the roster.
as soon as I see that someone is returning, the first question is: did he run out of money?) If not, then he should have told him that he was going on a break or rest from the Dota 2 and would definitely return. We have seen and will see more than one such return)

MUST SEE! Guys 3 days ago released the video about ESL One Berlin: Unmuted, we need 40 mins for that: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L-x49BnZ1iw

Spoiler: there are even Ramzes tears

Especially with the new system on EPT point, there wont be that many points like last season so the best team on each region will be going to those ESL sponsored tournament to get those EPT points which means hiring an entire squad of the best team in NA and SA is the best option that any team could hope for now. MENA region might also be another good region to start for an organization to start with
These points system might be implemented by the regular organizaters of tournaments that have been doing major tournaments. And I agree that the best region to start for some teams is MENA because it's still young and new and there's not that a lot of teams competing from the qualifying tournaments.

Kinda wonder how good will this guy play, I mean he hasnt been on competitive scene for over a year so he might be rusty abit. Ana was a top player before he decided to stop then he wasnt really the same guy anymore before he stopped playing competitively
I don't think that he's rusty at all. There's not that much difference when someone who's been out for the pro scene for a year but still played a lot of pubs. And yes, ana stopped competitively but never stopped playing in the pubs. But it's different with ana, he is past his prime and that's why he's a bit rusty now together with other great players before. Ame is still said as the uncrowned king.

Azure Ray so strong, they're unlikely to get eliminated on the group stages. Wawitas Sagazes still has last game tomorrow but even if they win 2-0, they're already out of this tournament after that match and they'll go home with $25,000 placing 11th-12th. And their co-bracket team, Blacklist International needs to win 2-0 just to have a chance not to be eliminated.

I don't think he'd run out of money. The passion for these players is unexplainable because it's still different to play competitively than just play with the pubs. The feeling and emotion are different there and he's still talented, that's why a team/org still hired him as their representative and player.

Ame is still said as the uncrowned king.

This means nothing at all unless he win TI. Similar praises was given to Arteezy as well but he never really show his full potential and never win TI so it doesnt mean anything unless you can really prove yourself by winning the Aegis obviously.

Lost this because BB sucks so bad. I couldnt believe that they lost a map against Secret

I had better winning rate on single bet but it just feel abit weird not to win any parlay on dota2 betting so lets try this once more

Betboom should be able to secure 2-0 against Blacklist. As for Azure ray - GG, that totally screams draw for sure. I might make another single bet on the draw because this one has a good chance of hitting

Well, that's true. It doesn't mean anything but it's just the fans that has given him that title because he's so close in taking that but still did lack of success achieving it.

Similar praises was given to Arteezy as well but he never really show his full potential and never win TI
Yeah, I know. But with the past performances of arteezy, it seems that he's proving to himself that he's not going to win any TI title anytime soon because he don't even want to buy a BKB.  Grin

so it doesnt mean anything unless you can really prove yourself by winning the Aegis obviously.
That's right. Ti has become the basis now for someone's success and that's why most of the players have been trying to focus on being qualified on it together with their team. But I think that it's going to change this time, the biggest potential large pool goes to the Riyadh masters and there can be a sense of more achievement winning there than of TI when the prize pool isn't that big compare in the past. So, time changes and we'll see if the basis are going to change over time.

Not only will AZURE make it through the group stage with ease, they will most likely win the ECL. Although G2.iG in Group B also surprises me, they also have 8 points.

Yes, maybe everything is fine with his money, I rarely play ranked matches, I experience emotions much brighter than when I’m in public, so there’s definitely something in this.

An interesting battle was between Quinn and MidOne in a head-to-head match in a replay. Based on this result, the Gladiators advanced to the upper bracket of the playoffs, where they will face G2 Invictus Gaming.

I'm starting to think that BetBoom as an ORG has nothing to do with real esports and they are in the circuit just to make a lot of money , have suspect games , doing awful things when they are playing live ( Pure going on live stream during Bali as example ) and it's not happening just in Dota but all over the other games. As today in CS they had one of the most easiest games in CS on a favorite map and they lost 13-5 after they were down 12-1 ...so yea , I really don't have any faith towards BetBoom as an ORG and it's sad because 2024 it will be an year where gambling sites and especially BetBoom will organize a lot of tournaments into esports.

Speaking of Azure Ray, have you seen the long pause that is because there's a bug on the bear of Lone Druid and they have to make it stop. Actually, it was Team Falcons that was dominating in the 3rd match against Azure Ray and I thought that they were winning in that match but then, Azure Ray still managed to win. While on the other match of G2.IG and GG, GG won against G2.IG and that means that Azure Ray and GG will face the next bracket.

Later on we're going to have match in the lower bracket. First match is Team Secret and Team Liquid, I don't think that Team Secret will win on this one but they have broken the expectations of many fans including me but still, it's still Team Liquid for me.

I'm starting to think that BetBoom as an ORG has nothing to do with real esports and they are in the circuit just to make a lot of money , have suspect games , doing awful things when they are playing live ( Pure going on live stream during Bali as example ) and it's not happening just in Dota but all over the other games. There was this rumor about the CIS players and teams that have been involved with massive betting and that's actually more than the money that these players can earn professionally. I don't know, it seems that it has been normal there and the real pro players are just avoiding to get involved with any unforeseen activities with their pro matches.

Isnt all those organizations are there to make money and exposure. Obviously exposure but if they can make some profit along the way than its pretty good. In Layman terms, all they gotta do is to offer contract to all those high tier players then give them their basic needs alongside with providing all those high ends PC for them to play so thats it then hope the players will win those tournaments.

Not only will AZURE make it through the group stage with ease, they will most likely win the ECL.

If you mean ESL then that is a bold claim. They are pretty good but it was the group stage and in BO3 play offs, shitstorm could happen. I watched them, they are good but not really at a point where I can see them totally dominate the whole other teams on play offs. Compared to Team Spirit, they didnt have that kind of domination yet

There was this rumor about the CIS players and teams that have been involved with massive betting and that's actually more than the money that these players can earn professionally. I don't know, it seems that it has been normal there and the real pro players are just avoiding to get involved with any unforeseen activities with their pro matches.

If I was a pro player for that kind of org, I'd be pretty wary of what could happen too. These orgs don't really care much about what's in line for these players should their activities be caught by the organizers of the tourney. A potential lifetime ban could be handed and these orgs could just restructure and hire new players and make more money again, while the pros need to face the reality that they are no longer allowed to play and earn from something that they've sacrificed lots of hours for just to get better and compete at the highest level.

That's what I've read in some of the orgs in the CIS region. But for sure the other ones like in Western Europe, they're careful and the same goes for the NA region. Whilst for SEA and China, it's said to be the same. They have seen the samples of those players that have been banned forever in the grandest tournaments and Valve-sponsored tournaments and ruined their potential good career in being a dota 2 professional player.

Well, this is what greed makes a person and even if you're a pro player, you've got a good salary and have sponsorships from many brands. This is one of the best opportunity on this era, you play as a professional just like professional athletes and then get paid, get salary, get major brand sponsorships and with a few clicks away, you're going to sell a game and do 322 thing for the sake of that money which will definitely change your life as well in perspective of the pro players.

Blast Premier World Final is finally here. This will be the last tier 1 CS2 tournament this year. 6 of the top 8 teams are competing for a share of the $1M prize. Vitality looks solid after winning the Fall Final in November while teams with recent roster changes look shaky (ENCE, Heroic, Mouz). Frozen first match with Faze seems convincing though, let's see how they'll fare against G2 today.

Matchmaking is happening even outside of e-sport and DOTA 2. It's just sad that it existed. One of my neighbors was lucky enough to become a member of a team that was sponsored by the biggest mobile network in our country. They were in division 2 and many times played outside the country. But things changed when he was part of those who were banned by Valved for matchmaking. I haven't spoken to him since I relocated but according to people I knew, that neighbor and his teammates didn't have much of an option but to follow instructions. I don't know, maybe it's their manager who made a deal with the syndicate. When hundreds of thousands to millions are involved it could be very dangerous.

Yes, I watched it. The most fun is to watch such moments live) The player tried to transfer Diffusal Blade to the summoned bear, which was killed at that moment) Yes, GG and Azure will fight in the upper bracket, this game cannot be missed. It will be funny if GG wins them, because earlier in group A they lost 2-0. In the lower bracket I continue to follow G2.IG, they should go much further in my opinion.

Not only will AZURE make it through the group stage with ease, they will most likely win the ECL.

If you mean ESL then that is a bold claim. They are pretty good but it was the group stage and in BO3 play offs, shitstorm could happen. Yes, you may be right, but at the same time, it is not necessary to destroy every team like TS did in order to ultimately win the tournament. You can win somewhere with a very small margin, and somewhere you can just get lucky at the right moment.

Probably but in this case I dont see how Azure Ray will dominate. Getting the top spot is not really a guarantee that they will win it but yeah I gotta agree that they were better compared to TI for sure. Actually both the china region team dominate the group stage but if I am going to put on two favourites for the grand final then I would be picking Team Falcons and GG

We got two lower brackets games tomorrow, going for over 2.5 on both game. Yep my record has been devastating so far with these parlays  Roll Eyes

Guess who will be one of the majors organizer of Dota 2 tournament next year ? Yep , you guessed it , it's BetBoom once again and this means only one thing : The gambling industry successfully took over the esports scene and from now on , I personally expect only clown fiesta games and from time to time a real Dota 2 game. Shame that Valve really went out from dota 2 and leaving in to the sharks and betting companies.

Yes, it's happening in other esports too, and even in some sports in some parts of the world. Sad as it is but it exists.

One of my neighbors was lucky enough to become a member of a team that was sponsored by the biggest mobile network in our country. They were in division 2 and many times played outside the country. That's what happen when you are fed by greed. You have a contract and sponsors and then still chose to be part of the match making. There are players that are not involved with it but their teammates are part of. As long as they prove their innocence to Valve or to any organizers, they might be freed from the ban and will be removed.

Yes, I watched it. The most fun is to watch such moments live) The player tried to transfer Diffusal Blade to the summoned bear, which was killed at that moment) Yes, GG and Azure will fight in the upper bracket, this game cannot be missed. We've got a rest day today but later on there will be matches again. 2 Teams again are going to be eliminated from the lower bracket and let's see on who advances.

What tournament is this? are they really the organizer or they are just sponsor of the said tournament? Usually with these majors, it's going to be ESL gaming that will organize it.

They're only pawn pieces to this great scheme of gambling that they involved themselves into, albeit involuntarily. Some organizations do not believe in the innate talents of their roster hence they resort to match fixing to make money. It isn't really that much prevalent in tier 1 teams but in tier 2 below, you will be surprised just how rampant that shit is. This is also what's happening in Chinese dota I believe. Some organizations want to push one organization up the tier and they will intentionally throw games to win money and get that organization some form of recognition before that same organization intentionally throws their game to make money. CIS and Chinese dota, I don't have much trust when it comes to betting, but the rest of the region seems good so far.

Frozen first match with Faze seems convincing though, let's see how they'll fare against G2 today.

My picks for today's matches

I watched the Faze G2 match live. It was a good victory for G2 in Inferno, even a comfortable victory. Hunter played very well and other team players supported him well on this map. The second map was Faze's map, or rather Ropz's map, Nuke. G2 seemed to win this map again at the beginning because there was an incredible frag contribution from Niko, but towards the end, Faze closed this gap and they managed to win their own map. It's a real shame that Niko couldn't win this match with 30 frags. Afterwards, the Decider map was moved to Anubis. There is no such competition. The match went to overtime on the decider map. Faze won the Anubis map in overtime. Actually, your bet was very close. G2 clan could have won twice but lost in the end. I'm sorry about that.

Not only will AZURE make it through the group stage with ease, they will most likely win the ECL.

Yep my record has been devastating so far with these parlays  Roll Eyes
more than 2.5 always makes me happy, I would even say that I bet on such odds most often. But at ESL I will take a break and observe from the sidelines. You need to continue, but act carefully.
Still, each game had 2 maps, but the odds were good, you'll be lucky next time.

Well, this is a natural development that we may not like and we will not do anything about it. Could it be better if Valve were leaders in this? definitely yes. Let's see what comes out of this in the end.

We've got a rest day today but later on there will be matches again. 2 Teams again are going to be eliminated from the lower bracket and let's see on who advances.
Yes, it was a day off. But today the battle continued again. I liked 2 long games from Tundra and BB. gpk and Nightfall played 2 maps very well, they need to continue also to have a chance to rise high.
