Just to make sure: I took the sources and forked it. I am planning on applying a fork if the dev won't show up soon. :p I can do the technical part but I need some others to do PR / graphics. https://github.com/savale/GroestlCoinI think it would be better if you have worked together with the dev. +1 Dev, where are you? If dev's not responsive, I guess we need to find an alternative, that's how free market works. This coin is one of the best kept alt-coin secrets right now.. Stacking. may i ask what you got for mining just because i spotted the hashrate Sure, I got a few rigs with R9 280x's. All miners, I made a quick google spreadsheet with the optimal config for my GPU's, I would recommend you to do the same for your cards/CPU's so the new miners get the most khs for their cards. I believe this is key for groestlcoin to gain more miners. It is editable by anyone as I trust the community to do what's best for itself: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Atmcd1XbwbURdFVhT0w5RXdvcUdKdXVQVUt1blZZSHc#gid=0thanks for settings anyway, this must be an entire floor with rigs ^^ the hashrate i saw was insane

Hi Guys! I think that it would be great to get an article about our coin highlighting its unique features (CPU/GPU friendliness, moderate number of coins, 6% block reward decrease, etc). CoinDesk, Bitcoin Magazine, etc. I'm ready to pay 10,000 GRS for it. Perhaps somebody would like to join in paying the bounty. What do you think? Difficulty is not increasing (see http://dwarfpool.com/grs), so it means that less people are actively mining it. We need to raise awareness about this great coin. PS: I've set up a public trello account with some of ideas on what to do next. Please feel free to edit and add your own recommendations. Perhaps we can vote on todo items later. Here's the link: https://trello.com/b/EUl5cwEz/todo. I think it is easier to track items using trello than in this thread, but of course we can keep the discussion in this thread and/or PM. Thanks, Dmitriy (srcxxx / CryptoHunger) Edit: offering 10,000 GRS for professional-looking design of the main website, not just any design. See details here: https://trello.com/c/wbc01pbL/2-re-design-the-website. It should be on par or better than other coins. If 10,000 is not enough, perhaps others could help fundraising?

Can anyone explain to me why would anyone invest in a coin which heavily favors early adopters? I mean whats stopping people from dumping 20% of all the coins mined after 1 month?
Klondikecoin did something similar. It had 77 coins per block in the beginning, then a lot less (16 afair). Its price has fallen more than 20x.
To anyone reading this: please think and do some research before you buy this coin.

Reward decreases relatively fast, but not too fast. It still would be worth embracing Groestlcoin even in a few months from now. The value of coin does not only depend on coin reward. It also depends on difficulty. For example, I was getting roughly 3300grs last week with reward 512 (mining with 49mhs). Now I'm getting 5000+ with 481 block reward. The idea of large rewards in the beginning is to get more people have these coins. It's like 50% discount vouchers for restaurants. If you have the voucher and you liked the place, you'll go there once again. With introduction of super speed scrypt asics later this year, coins like this one will get lots of attention. And I recommend to mine/buy GRS while it is relatively cheap. That's what I'm doing myself at least. As for dumping 20% of coins... Well, nothing is stopping. But it is the same for all coins. Bitcoin, litecoin for example.

It's not too late to be an early adopter. This coin is 10 days old, you have not missed the boat yet. Reward was lower than at start, (480 instead of 512) but only by 6%, not half. Diff is not too high for the moment, and price is low. I mine it, but i buy it too. What's stopping people from dumping ? Nothing, just look at the bitcoin, chineese people (and others) are just dumping it right now. Are they early adopter? Not sure. But after 10 days, some GRS were dumped, and we bought those. Coin value is pretty stable for a new currency ( in comparaison to others) Summer is coming. with heat. Scrypt asics in volume too. Alternative algo like Groestl, which consume 1/2 less than scrypt and 1/3 less heat will surely retain attention.
