You read economic books too much. There are other factors, too. Like the PRICE of the coin. And the reward given to miners. And liquidity - it a lot of turnover at exchange.
For example, what helps me, if the price is 'right', but the market is too shallow (i.e. only 0.01 BTC is deep and I have 3 BTC to sell).
It sounds like your only concern is to mine and dump this coin for short-term profit. Maybe instead of complaining, you should do something like: - Become a merchant that accepts GRS
- Contribute source code to further the development of the coin
- Help market the coin to potential investors
Only this will stimulate demand and provide the long term liquidity that we all desire. Well, regarding these three options: - for accepting GRS I'd need some sort of payment service (BitPay) and a very liquid exchange. Neither exists. - contributing source... ... currently I am working on a commercial scale project and in this moment... ...I cannot contribute - help to market? Well, you are overestimating my influence. I'd market the coin - I am sorry but for marketing you need money, a lot of money... Someone put aside some GRS for marketing? No? That's too bad.

So in summary, you don't want to put any actual effort in. This does not surprise me. In fact I put a lot of effort in, but noticed that at least for miners - the thing is totally not profitable (sorry, that's not trolling). I am mainly connected to miners and investors. Both classes of people want profit. I suggested many things to improve GRS, but all were turned down. Well, that's OK. But don't call me a troll - as I am not for sure.

You have a little mistake: ..."the thing" is totally profitable if you like miner put your order at 3000 sat. not for 300.... There have nothing wrong with block reward, market price is not correct if you want day trading.

Suggesting is easy, doing the actual thing is harder. There was one thing that you said you personally will do for GRS, which is p2pool. And you almost finished it according to your last emails. But then you said that because I'm not paying you the 20,000 bounty for AMD's hashrate increase in new drivers, that you are done with us. Then you wrote that you dumped all your GRS (which I presume is why the price got so low). But you are still here and writing unpleasant things about GRS. Isn't that trolling? If you like the algo, go mine Diamondcoin or Atheistcoin. They use the same algo. PS: ccMiner released new version with massive Groestl speed inrcrease.

It is very sad to see a coin with such potential go by the way side. Many reasons are out of our control for various factors but one reason that is the most disturbing is ego.... Not placing blame on either side of this ongoing conversatsion as I don't know the details but from the past few days of reading there is obviously ego in play. As with many other coins ego has always been such an easily avoidable risk factor that seems to be one of the major killers.
If either party has the power to be influential in this coins success I would humbly ask that you put ego aside and attempt to work together. Miners are the ones who get the shortest end of the stick in the end. Knowing the huge losses most GPU miners have taken over the past 6 months should be motivation enough to try to succeed. Coin gains value and popularity everyone wins.
I may be speaking out of place, but based on the last few comments it seems that the conversation has become less about getting things back on track and more about who is right. Just my 2 cents folks. Take what you like and leave the rest.

Yep, pretty much that's why I avoid posting much into this forum. :-) My previous conversation with Dwarfpool operator didn't do us much good either.
Do you guys really think that I should pay 20,000 GRS to bbbbbb2014 for "optimizing the AMD miner 50% or more"? Given that he only wrote a short guide for BAMT, which doesn't really work? And didn't do any OpenCL coding of any kind and that his post about the optimized drivers 14.6 beta drivers wasn't even the 1st in this thread? If 10 people will tell me that "yes", I will pay it.
And as always, If you can help the coin and do some development / promotion - please do.
PS: Also, just a heads up I'll be releasing optimized sgminer fork optimized for Groestlcoin mining shortly [about 17MHs on R9 290].

Hi all! I made a fork of SPH-Sgminer for Groestl algorithm. See here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=652849If you have AMD GPU, please try it. I'm getting 16.2 MH/s on R9 290 and 7.56 MH/s on R9 270X. In a few days I'll post 17.0 MH/s R9 290 kernel (I'll post update in this forum). I'm planning to work on improving this miner in the future. You don't need to specify difficulty multiplier anymore. If you have any problems with this miner - please post directly into that forum. PS: If you are on NVidia, you might want to check out ccMiner 1.1 (it just got got substantional speed increase for Groestl mining) Thanks
