The grue lurks in the darkest places of the earth. Its favorite diet is adventurers, but its insatiable appetite is tempered by its fear of light. No grue has ever been seen by the light of day, and few have survived its fearsome jaws to tell the tale.

Hi guys!

If you have an AMD videocard (especially R9 290 or R9 280X), please join the beta testing of GRS multipool at http://boostpool.com/
The official opening is on 22 September and currently the UI / statistics on website really sucks.
But payouts and mining part work just fine. Expect at least 50% more GRS per day (last few days it was about 400% more GRS, thanks to DigiByte).

You'll need grs-sgminer 1.4 to connect to boostpool.

Details here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=652849 and here: http://boostpool.com/

The payout for a single AMD R9 290 mining on multipool yesterday was 4800 GRS!

Thanks
srcxxx

I am mining there and... WOW, I have like 9/10 times more profit than mining direct GRS.

All i did was:
Downloaded windows build
Extracted windows build
Create bat file with:

setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
setx GPU_MAX_HEAP_SIZE 50
Timeout 45
sgminer.exe -o stratum+tcp://boostpool.com:3333 -u YOUR_GRS_OR_BTC_WALLET -p ANYTHING -I 20 --gpu-engine 1100 --gpu-memclock 150 --gpu-fan 100

i got a strange error and sgminer closed. I started the miner again and BOOM working.

If i can do this a noob, then everybody can!
You dont have to set a kernel. It does not matter which driver you use, it will compile automatically the best setting for you through its special kernel. I love the on the fly switch within grs-sgminer (it can switch between groestl based algo's without restarting the miner).

Excellent job done Srcxxx! I can recommend all to test www.boostpool.com while it is in beta and has no exchange fee until 22 September.

That strange error was probably the keystroke logger install.  Cheesy

I found in the logs that the error was something like: optimised kernel invoked. gruve_p has inspected the source code (because it is closed source) and there were no suspicious keylogger or anything else in it. It is a false positive.

Thanks for your concerns though, if we would find any suspicious code inside it then we would never post it here because it would harm our users.

Pretty good for a self-confessed "noob". If I didn't know better, I'd say I was impressed.

Welcome troll!

I inspected the source code and there is no malicious code inside, but then you know better right?

Since when is this project closed-source? Wasn't it open when it started?

Hi Dubfx,

the grs-sgminer is open source. In fact you can compile it directly from github. Its a fork of the original sgminer. Srcxxx is a directx and OpenGL expert. He has managed to improve the groestl and myriad-groestl (actually also others like x11, x13 and x15) kernels. There are others (will not mention their names) that have improved it also. All of them are keeping the kernels internally in order to get profit for themselves.

Srcxxx could also keep it for himself but decided to share his improved kernels in grs-sgminer.
Srcxxx removed the kernels in the open source and replaced it with the precompiled bin files (which are closed source). We have inspected these precompiled files to any harmfull code and all was good. All he wants is profit for his users and for himself (instead keeping it internally).
Fact is that his pool gives more coins/profit. It is his decision if he wants to release the whole code or not, we can not force him to make it all open source.

Feel free to ask any other concerns or give me a PM if you have any urgent questions.

Seriously, nobody cares here what you have to say. This is the Groestlcoin thread and there is a reason why we are not self-moderated.
And thanks for the free bump, we need you to post everyday (if possible twice a day) here so i can mememize you.

Dear Groestlcoin community,

It's been awhile since I posted here. Why? Public relations is not my thing. :-) If you don't know it already, just read some older messages in this forum.
I'll post now and will probably refrain from doing it in the future, you can always PM me if you need me.

But I've always been a supporter of Groestlcoin and things were handled pretty decently here.
I once mentioned in Russian forum, that if GRS price is less than 700 satoshi, I am not happy.
It is still the case, but now I think I know how to fix this...

Anyways, you probably already know about my pet project "grs-sgminer". Well, now it is turning into "boost-sgminer" (spoiler alert :-))

I'm rolling out the boostpool.com GRS multipool. And I'd like to state a few things...

1. GRS income from boostpool is always going to be larger than if you mine GRS directly. How much larger - depends on exchange rate of other coins.
2. 10% of multipool's fee earned from Groestlcoin miners is donated to GRS community for sponsoring other dev projects.
3. Yes, I'm getting fee from multipool. Yes, it is more than usual multipool fees.

I believe that multipool will allow us to pump GRS into 1000+ satoshi range. Why? Because I need lots of GRS to pay miners on multipool. And I need to buy these GRS somewhere.
So this increases GRS exchange volume and if there are no dumpers (if somebody doesn't need GRS from multipool, just mine with your BTC address), the price will rise. It is already rising, just look at mintpal prices:

Today I paid out 100k GRS, while the total volume of all mined GRS per day is about 33K.

I believe that this is beneficial for everyone. Even for pool operators: because the higher price of GRS will bring more miners and they need to go somewhere.

PS: There are some other changes I'm going to do to support Groestlcoin community:
groestlcoin.biz is moving to a USA server and going to have 0% fee
groestlcoin.biz will have X11 multipool in addition to GRS pool (2% fee: 1% exchange fee and 1% donation to GRS community)

Thanks

Good idea indeed, i'm still holding my few k of GRS and hope that someday it will pay me out, and now it seems that it will!
Keep it up!

I've made a 25 Mh/s (R9 290) groestlcoin/diamond/etc. kernel for sph-sgminer or derivates. It took months of work.
Convince me to opensource it! (or make an offer)

End of the optimized kernel experiment! :-)
Everybody pushed for an opensource release and nobody made an offer.
I'm happy that it ended like this as I strongly belive in opensource.

If it doesn't skim 20% off the top like srcxxx's miner I will most certainly use this.

Much better than the hidden fees.. nobody likes scammers like that.

Are you planning on making it work for myriad-groestl too?
