question....my wallet also wont sync and if i remove my wallet.dat and conf file and delete the cleanwatercoin folder in raoming then reopen wallet to recreate the folder and then re add my conf and wallet file I have 1600 coins vs the several hundred thousand I have mined. Any ideas? Am I out my coins? Super confused and never had this issue before with any other wallet.
thanks

Make sure you let the blockchain fully download from scratch before you replace your wallet in the roaming folder.

After you put your wallet back, go to the debug console (Help->Debug Window->Console) then type "checkwallet" and it will tell you if there are any mismatched coins compared with the blockchain.

If it does not say "true" then type "repairwallet" and this should retrieve any coins not showing. If it doesn't then it is likely they were mined on an incorrect fork.

I tried that and all my coins are back and was synced for a couple of minutes now it says WARNING:Invalid checkpoint found! ....... went to console and typed checkwallet and all I get is a red message saying "Safe mode: WARNING: Invalid checkpoint found! Displayed transactions may not be correct! You may need to upgrade, or notify developers. (code -2)" same result with the repair wallet command.
any ideas?
I am using wallet v1.7.0.1

I'm glad your coins are back, your wallet seems to be repaired - good news!

To get rid of the invalid checkpoint warning try re-downloading the blockchain with no .conf file - my wallet is updating fine without having to add any nodes manually.

I dont have a .conf file in the folder. I didn't add it back after following your steps earlier.

I just realised you're using an old wallet - download the latest version (v1.7.0.2) here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B9AVjo3qD9DANUo1TUZHb3k2ODQ

If it doesn't work straight away, delete and re-download the blockchain (I always do that without my wallet in the roaming folder) then shut it down, replace your wallet and reload. I think there were some changes made in version 1.7.0.2 to avoid the checkpoint errors.

When did  1.7.0.2 come out? This is the first I have heard of it and the OP still has .1 on it. Ill give that a shot....waiting for new block chain to re download. Hope it works this time. Smiley thanks for the help thus far.

Smiley All is well for my wallet now...thanks so much for your advice. Very much appreciated. What is your water address I would like to send you some coinage for the assistance?

Glad you got sorted! No need to send any coinage, make a charity donation instead  Cool

1.7.0.2

Updated Windows Wallet: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B9AVjo3qD9DANUo1TUZHb3k2ODQ
We will be moving it off of Google Drive and over to our server tonight, but if you want to check it out -- there she is. Wink

New Source: https://github.com/CleanWaterCoin/cleanwatercoin
• DNS Seed connections enabled
• IRC Connections disabled
• Added "posmint" configuration directive to enable/disable PoS miner
• Corrected syntax errors

Here is the original link for anyone else not sure - Zach/Mindfox can you update the front page links please to avoid any more confusion.

Do you have an ETA for the latest new-look wallet version? And for Bittrex to enable WATER again? It has been another week now since your last update.

Mindfox should be back from his trip soon, and we will wrap up the wallets. I also spoke to Richie from Bittrex -- all is well there, they are just waiting on us to get them the new wallets.

I'll update the ANN Wink

What trip? Is he on holiday? What is happening with the wallet? Your last posts said things were just being finished off - can you give us a firm date for the new wallet please.

Wish I could go on holidays for this long.....so much potential with this coin and its cause. Seems to be going to waste meanwhile losing tons of support.

Having recently taken on the continued development of the Givecoin chain I have a new found sympathy for any blockchain developer  Cheesy

The code bases are incredibly fragile and there are a ton of dependencies that suck the fun out of it.  Chief among them is the BOOST library.

It's taken me about three solid days to get Litecoin & Givecoin to just compile and link cleanly on Mac OS X 10.9 "Mavericks"  in a bid to get a pure 64-bit app -- only to have them blow up right away with Seg Fault 11's -- so it means firing up the debugger to find out which component has slid off the rails.

On the plus side I now have the X11 suite compiling cleanly ;-)

I'm seriously considering paying a bounty to someone(s) to remove the BOOST dependency all together just to cut down on the number of moving parts (there are only a few "convenience" objects used and it was a real bitch to get it build under FreeBSD a couple of years ago when I did a port of Bitcoind.

Thanks for the update!

New wallet still looks amazing, can't wait.

Are there any new features that comes along with the new wallet(other than PoS), or are they scheduled for a later release?

I am happy to report out that doabitofgood.com has now created a PERMANENT Mac OS X build environment at its offices in St. Paul, Minnesota to aid in the creation and maintenance of various coinbase wallets.

This is part of our recent announcement of taking over the primary development duties of GIVEcoin.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=741714.0

I've just successfully built up cleanwatercoind on Mac OS X, with a few minor edits to the makefile.osx to match the brew system install locations of the db4 and openssl.

The wallet is online and is currently syncing up.  Once sync'd I will perform a few test sends from our linux cloud infrastructure back and forth just to exercise it.

Once satisfied, we will work on building up the -QT version.

Sincerely,

Did PoW just stop or?

I know very little of crypto technicalities, but I can't find any PoW blocks in the blockchainexplorer.

Bittrex put up sign again, "danger of delisting", hope communication and progress is doing fine.

It would be great to see a new wallet before the coin is de-listed from Bittrex.

Any chance of that happening?

Edit: This is the message on the top of the CWC market page on Bittrex:

"This market is in danger of de-listing due to low trade volume and lack of user interest. It may be removed on Aug 22nd unless the average daily trade volume for the last 7 days exceeds 0.1 BTC."

This is exactly what I was talking about weeks ago when I said regardless of how great the cause is you cant do any decent amount of good if you don't have enough people interested or the means to perform.....waiting around this long has surely affected the amount of interest and good this coin/cause can do. I know I have lost my motivation to support this coin to the extent I was.

"Lack of user interest" - how can anyone SHOW interest when the wallet has been disabled for 3 months? This is an utter joke - Zach, can you promise us we will have a stable wallet in the next couple of days? Your last post said that you hoped to get the last issues resolved over the weekend, are we finally there yet???

Is there any interest in leveraging Electrum as a possible wallet platform?

As I'm digging into taking over the GIVEcoin base, it occurs to me that the wallet has pretty low utility and I like the overall lightweight feel of the Electrum approach.

Not even sure if it could STAKE -- that's a TBD obviously.

I'd hate to the end user wallet be the barrier to getting things back to good.

Just my .02
