Montpellier had been woeful in their last 5 games in the league, i wonder how they managed to beat Monaco? i won't have believed it if i was told earlier on that Montpellier would win Monaco today especially now that Monaco needed to use this match to try and get back to form. Monaco themselves are not in form lately and thus needed this win to get back on track, but their opponent had something else installed for them.

After the last three matches in Ligue 1 without a win, this time Monaco will still play away but the opponent he faces is Montpellier who is at the bottom of the standings. Thus, it should be Monaco to break the bad results and get three points in this away match against Montpellier. Basically, I'm also very sure Monaco will win for sure, but in reality maybe victory  is still not easy to get. Because after all, in the previous match Monaco was also held to a draw by Nantes, which was also in the bottom zone of the standings, thus it is possible that Montpellier could surprise in this match. But, if Monaco remains focused on targeting victory without weakening Montpellier, then the victory for Monaco should still happen.

Paris Saint-Germain have today completed the transfer of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia from Napoli, one of the biggest moves of the January transfer window. The deal, valued at more than €70m (£60m), has been confirmed by both clubs after weeks of negotiations.

Kvaratskhelia, who joined Napoli in 2022 for just €10m, has signed a five-year contract with the French champions. PSG coach Luis Enrique had previously identified the Georgian international as a priority target to bolster his attacking options.

The 23-year-old winger's departure from Napoli comes after he expressed his desire to leave, with coach Antonio Conte confirming that "Kvaratskhelia has asked to leave the club. I spoke to Khvicha and he confirmed his plan to leave the club immediately."

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis demanded €80m initially, but eventually accepted PSG's offer, which includes easily achievable bonuses. Kvaratskhelia is expected to travel to Paris later this week to undergo a medical and finalise personal terms.

Going by this result I will be probably forced to agree that indeed Monaco's performance has really dropped and they aren't doing any well at this point,  they should be doing better than this, montpellier has done any beyond  average this season and so they shouldn't have been of a challenge to Monaco who has been above them by their performances,  except that this season they have been inconsistent with it, probably next season they do better but gradually I'm beginning to think they may not end up with a really decent finish by the end of this season but they will be able to be amongst top ten and possibly five if they get consistent with hard work.

For the PSG odds themselves, I think they are quite large even though PSG has performed consistently this season and the odds should be quite @1.45 / @1.50 but @1.73 in my opinion is very large and I suspect there might be a surprise in this match whether Lens beats PSG or will get a draw.

After a series of negative results in the previous few matches, I thought Monaco had risen and can returned to winning ways especially by only facing a team that was in the relegation zone at this time, but the defeat to Montpellier was actually very surprising to us especially if we look at the quality of the two teams that are very significant at this time, although they were able to excel in the first half but precisely their poor concentration and defence allowed Montpellier to comeback to win in end the match, I see this is the main problem from other  big teams in ligue 1 to break PSG dominance so far, although the rival teams has improved the quality of their squad, but their mentality is very bad and even difficult to win from teams weaker than them so far, the defeat further distanced them from PSG and  I think Monaco has officially dropped out of the title competition this season by dropping to 4th place standing.

The funny thing about this result is that Monaco had more possession of the ball, they had 11 shots on target compared to just 4 from Montpellier, but they only scored 1 goal against an opponent who in the last 6 games, in 5 of them, conceded 2 goals in each game.

In this match I saw something different from the Lille players, they never stopped looking for opportunities to catch up after Nice managed to close the first half with a score of 1-0. The second half was completely theirs, scoring 2 goals and the most epic comeback ever by Lille.
This victory took them to 3rd position and shifted Monaco's position, which was surprisingly defeated by Montpellier, who were in last place.

The first half has ended and Lens are leading 1 - 0. PSG didn't create much chances to equalise in the first half and Lens are doing their best to defend their lead. I am seeing a possible equalisation from the few chances PSG tried to create in the first half. This game might not end in 1-0.

So far PSG hasn't seen a corner whereas Lens has played 4 corners and have 1 shot on target. I will wait for second half to see if there will be any improvement in PSG attack or their attempt to equalise the game but to me PSG might lose this game to Lens if they fail to create chances in the second half.
