At the moment, I would rate Lens's chances of winning the title at 20%, bookmakers estimate its chances at half that.

And here I am waking up to these two days old news..I need to check the match replay I am crossing my fingers to see that Rennes actually won it fair and sqare as that 1/3 possession in that stats is telling me something else!

But yeah, figures, PSG beat Marseille, Rennes lost to Lens, hard to see why not giving those odds.

I must say that i had some certainties in the French championship, these certainties have been definitively swept away by these last few matches.

Just as it is difficult for Lens to maintain consistency in 12 matches, it is also difficult for PSG to maintain that consistency. We have long realized that PSG is not dominant this season since Lens is competing hard with them. Although PSG is strong in terms of depth, they may have to give up against Lens' consistency. Because performance is more important than squad depth to win the title. It may not be unfair to see both teams equally in terms of performance.

Even so, due to the busy Champions League schedule, PSG will have to expend more energy, which may not be enough to win Ligue 1. Now Luis Enrique will have to choose one league and move towards that goal. It is not possible to win both leagues with the current team.

Your points are very true, in as much as both PSG and lens has got a chance at winning the French championship, there are also these flaws that lays around them both. That not withstanding, both have peculiar situations and how best they navigate it to tjeri advantage gives the other the edge over the other, PSG will see how they can manage through with the champions league and the French championship meanwhile Lens seem to have a lesser struggle, let us see who gets it at the end of the season.

Above any other team in the League 1 this season, Lens is the best team that is capable of competing with PSG in the title race; Monaco, Lyon, Marseille, and Lille are all not in good for this season, they all started the season well and signed a lot of new players, but only Lens that we never expected will chase PSG is chasing them with one point gap, they have been topping the league before they lose one match against Marseille, they are now back stronger to take their position as PSG failed to win against Rennes last week.

However, the bookmakers are after the most influential team with great players, I don’t also expect them to give PSG big odd because they know that PSG might come and overtake Lens because they have the best squad, but I don’t think it will be easy as they might think this time because Lens is trying everything possible to maintain their performance so as to be consistent.

A one-point gap isn't difficult to overcome as long as PSG can still win against Lens, as that's their only chance of success in the competition this season. Lens challenge is certainly not easy competing with PSG especially with such a small points gap. Lens still have many tough matches ahead, potentially dropping points. The next match against Monaco will be against Lens. This certainly won't be an easy match for Lens, but if they maintain a relaxed unstressed play meaning, don't expect too much of a trophy they can get through these crucial matches well.

We should wait for the Lens vs psg  match. Whoever wins this match has the highest chance of becoming the champion. Lens is in good form. They are consistently able to perform well. Especially against weak teams, they do not lose points. A few days ago they lost  against marseille. Marseille is one of the strongest teams in Ligue 1. On the other hand, psg  lost against rennes in the last match. There is no reason to  consider rennes as strong.

Starting from the round of 16 of the champions league, PSG's performance in Ligue 1 will likely be erratic again. On the other hand, Lens' only focus is on Ligue 1. So maintaining consistency is somewhat easier for them.
