I also don't have any confidence in Chelsea now, what just happened is very embarrassing and surprising, they lost at home against a team that is weaker in quality and even though Chelsea is in a positive trend after achieving good results in several matches previously and even drew against top teams like Arsenal.

I know that many people are going to lose confidence in Chelsea with the way they played yesterday. Most people were confident that Chelsea was going to win the match, but they surprised everyone by losing. Brentford was not supposed to be a difficult club for Chelsea to win. Everyone was hyping Chelsea that they were back to form after playing against Arsenal, but we all saw how they performed against Brentford.

This is a Manchester Derby match which always presents a fierce match because this match will be very emotional for both teams because of the competition as city teams.
If we look at the performance of both teams in several matches (apart from the previous meetings between the two teams) I see Manchester United's performance is very bad and I am really quite pessimistic about them being able to get points in this match even though they are playing at their own home.

I know Manchester United's performance is poor this season, and as we can see, Manchester City is playing well this season, even though they lost some matches previously. Their performance is just better than Manchester United's, and I think Manchester City should be able to win the match, but some of their players who won't be playing in the match is really going to affect Manchester City's performance. The match might end up being a difficult one for Manchester City, but let's see the strategy that Pep Guardiola will be using today.

If we look at the difference between the two in the current conditions then yes I would agree with you, and maybe some people will also assume the same that this is a fairly easy match for Liverpool. In ten matches Liverpool managed to win six matches, three draws and only one defeat, while in the Notingham Forest camp from the last ten matches they could only win two wins, three defeats and the rest mostly drew, this made them finally in the bottom 15. Maybe I think with these statistics alone we can already confirm who will be able to get full points in this match, although yes, however Notingham Forest will fight hard to get full points but the difference in their performance is quite far and Notingham Forest's hard work will not be too promising when faced with a team that is far above them. Diego Jota just scored a a goal few minutes ago to break Nottingham Forest's resistance after the away were proving to be too strong to break. Liverpool has been very impressed since the start of the season and knows that they have to win today's game to keep in touch with league leaders. Nottingham Forest who are are trying to make things difficult for Liverpool will want to get something away from the game but considering the kind of quality players in the Liverpool squad, I don't think they stand a chance to draw this game.

I don't really know who to blame in the last game Chelsea played against Brent.  Chelsea stated the game well which they dominated the game in the beginning of the first half, they were able to create opportunities that didn't work out for them but they couldn't continue with the way they started. I won't put blame on Pochettino,  if the players had continued the way they started I don't think the game would have ended with such result. I put the blame on the players because their performance was terrible in the second half. Chelsea will be facing strong teams in the coming games it won't be easy with them.

Even the gsme started i expected Liverpool to win with a very big goal margin because they did same in their Europa League match and i knew it would boost their confidence against Nottingham Forest, Liverpool are currently playing 2-0 in 40mins now and they could add another goal before the 1st half ends, but even though they don't score more goals, i know the  match won't end with just 2 goals, Liverpool would score more in the 2nd half to end the game with about 3 or 4 goals.

They are 2 goals up now and I agree they should have scored more than 2 goals in the first half. If the second half doesn't change much, then it will be an easy win for Liverpool. I'm not sure Notingham Forrest will do anything meaningful in the second half, not that they didn't, but Liverpool's strength is now much stronger, and I'm sure they will dominate again in the second half.

Coming out attacking is not a good option for Nottingham, but trying to withstand every onslaught by Liverpool is also not something good. What will Nottingham do in the second half?

Yes, the three first round matches were all won by the hosts. And only Liverpool got 2 goals against Nottingham Forest which in my opinion is guaranteed to get full points until the match ends, apart from dominating Liverpool got lots of good opportunities in the first half and in my opinion in the second half Liverpool will add goals.
And the Manchester United vs Manchester City match is a match that football fans have been waiting for, because this will be a very interesting match to watch. And Manchester City is definitely the favorite even though they play at Manchester United's home ground, because Manchester City plays better than Manchester United.

I often say it in several posts in this thread, the truth is that Chelsea has a pretty good squad. some of the young players they have have the potential to develop further, but not all players. Talking about the match against Brentford, previously I referred to several line-up predictions. Most likely, Poche will rotate some of his players. There are several scenarios and one of them is playing Nicolas Jackson as the main starter.
Honestly, I hope Poche doesn't do it. and as usual, Chelsea implemented a 4-2-3-1 pattern, unfortunately Nicolas Jackson was included in the staring eleven as a central striker. Since looking at the line-up of the players who will play, my feeling is that Chelsea will lose this match. and yep, my guess was right.

The success and failure of a team would go to the manager. Take for example, Tottenham Hotspur head coach, the squad have achieved success since his appointment, fans and opposition fans have all given credits to him for that, and if he was failing same would be done. The problem if the current Chelsea squad isn't related to lack of good and quality players rather I think their current poor run is because of the lack of good tactical approach by the club's manager Mauricio Pochettino. Over the last one year, Chelsea has spent more than any other European club in the transfer windows but yet they're performing like a club who just got promoted to the English Premier League.
Mauricio Pochettino must find the best tactical formation that'll bring out the best from his players. They really performed well against Arsenal last weekend but with the way they played against Sheffield United yesterday, the Chelsea squad is still far away from coming back to their best.

If I could locate my previous comments on this game days away before it was played yesterday, it will act as a prove to what I said that in as much as Chelsea was able to hold Arsenal to a draw in their previous encounter, that does not mean that they have improved in any way, Arsenal probably under-estimated Chelsea and didn't prepare well for the game.

Some of us here believed that Chelsea will beat Brentford in their game yesterday, but I spoke against it because, I felt Chelsea haven't really recovered from their issues yet.
Now, the outcome of that game yesterday proved me right, i was honestly not surprised to see that Brentford beat Chelsea 2 to nothing, and I honestly expect Chelsea to still lose more games going forward.

That’s the main problem Chelsea have been having since the beginning of the season. They are always having opportunities in most of their matches, but they will end up wasting most of them at the end. In Chelsea's last match against Brentford, Chelsea should have won the match if they had a player that could really score goals. They wasted all the opportunities they had. I don’t really know why Pochettino still decided to start Jackson in his match. Jackson is not the type of striker that Chelsea needs, and Jackson is always wasting most Chelsea opportunities.

Pochettino should be given more time, he is still better than most of the coaches sacked by Chelsea last season. Indeed, if you look at this match, Brentford deserved to win. Currently Chelsea is a mid-table team. Many young players, inexperience, no balance, no leaders, no stability. Pochettino still has a lot of work to complete if Chelsea wants to recover and continue to develop their game, especially the front line.

In fact, Nottingham only tried to hold Liverpool but unfortunately, even though Nottingham only tried to hold in this match but still, Liverpool managed making score in this match. So yes, when the match between the lower-ranked team against the top-ranked team, then it is obvious that the lower-ranked team will not have much effort to score.
