The club investment on the squad should always be based on the plan of the manager. It would be a waste of signings if the club sign players who don't suit the tactical plan of the manager. The problem at Chelsea is that they have lack of coordination between manager and the sporting director. Chelsea failed to put a right person in the position of football director.

To me, I don't think sacking Eric ten hang is the proper thing to do now, because he might not perform better in the league this season, but he managed to win them a trophy at the end of the day, so that is a prove that he is a winner, and if am not mistaken, this is the second trophy has won for Manchester united since he was hired as the manager of the club, so for Manchester united to still have that hope of returning back to their glory days, they have to keep a winner as a manager, not someone that doesn't knows what it takes to win a trophy.

Yes, you are correct in saying that the quality of players available for a coach plays an important role in a team, but that doesn't change the fact that it's the coach's strategy and the way he utilizes the quality players at his disposal will bring forth good result for the team. In a situation where the coach fails how to feature quality players rightly, the team that the coach manages will be doomed to poor performance despite having quality players sign in the team.

TBH, I'm actually quite tired of seeing what the future holds for Man United, who are currently continuing to retain Ten Hag, while the news out there is all about the pros and cons regarding guaranteeing a better future in the hands of Ten Hag or even Man United will be even more destroyed when held by Ten Hag and according to I would be better off looking from 2 different directions and we start from the positive side, namely several titles won in the last 2 seasons as you said and the negative side is that Ten Hag still failed to help Man United to get the best finish in the EPL and failed to compete with other teams other top tier.
I'm not saying Ten Hag is bad here, but I am more realistic in seeing the opportunities that have been given to Ten Hag for 2 seasons, the results of which are decreasing and this means that if there are 2 seasons without any changes, management should take action to replace a new coach.

Regarding Erik Ten Hag future with Manchester United, it seems like it will be safe or he will stay with Manchester United for a long time. This season, Erik Ten Hag failed to bring Manchester United to a top 4 finish, which of course was a big failure for Erik Ten Hag this season.
