I'd say Pep and Ancelotti may have failed at Chelsea. But, it's a bit different at United. Im concerning about the club policy, and in chelsea, there is a very strict policy for the coach. This may be preventing even Pep or ancellotti to bring a success for chelsea. Meanwhile, manchester united has less less strict policy than chelsea.

Yes, even if it's Ancelotti and Pep Guardiola who coach Chelsea or MU, I think if Tod is the one who organizes the spending of players it's the same, it will be tiring and have to work even crazier. This is the high league of coaches who value their reputation very much and they simply will not allow themselves to start coaching a team in such a state as Chelsea or Manchester United, or the management will have to almost completely update the squard, which implies huge expenses on transfers, which few will agree to.
