I have always wished for them to feature in games under Arteta. Even if it’s the cups, with what I saw in that game, I think these young midfielders should be given a chance. The time is now. Nwaneri impressed me I’m that game. Honestly, I don’t see why a Nwaneri can’t play in a 3 man midfield with other experienced midfielders vs 2nd division teams.
I expect Arteta to integrate a lot of these young talents into the team when the season starts. They have a point to prove and if given the right opportunity, I think they’ll excel.

This pre-season match is an opportunity for coaches to try using the latest strategies or perhaps try to give experience to young players as Arteta has done currently.

But basically, most big teams during pre-season matches always use their reserve players as priority in the squad, for the core players who were previously always prioritized may only play in half the matches.

The Glazier's not kicking his ass out of the club was one great decision because from all considerations of the profiles that were eyeing the manager's position in Manchester united, when the Glazier's thought of sacking him due to the poor performance of the season before he managed to win the FA cup against Manchester City, there was none in those list of managers that could have done better than Ten Hag. Pre season games are always fun and interesting to watch especially for the fact that you get to see some good academy players in action but sometimes not all are ready to to be part of the team yet they still need some more time to develop fully. If you notice nowadays cup games are not like they used to be back in the days where teams will use their academy players to play, all teams are now competing to win any trophy they can get their hands on no matter how small it is.
Coaches now understand that academy players cannot be used to compete against another team’s main squad so that’s why it difficult to use their academy players in cup games nowadays or would you have supported Arteta if he uses his academy boys to play in the FA cup against Chelsea’s main squad? If he gets eliminated definitely everyone will question him.

I am not surprised by the result of the match. Manchester City losing a pre-season match doesn’t mean anything, it doesn’t mean that Manchester City won’t be performing well when the season starts. We all know that most clubs won’t be making use of their main squad in pre-season matches, they do make use of the players that they are always keeping as reserves, so we can’t conclude how a club will perform when the season starts. But I am still expecting Manchester City to perform well when the season starts, we shouldn’t start concluding that there is a drop in their performance just because of the pre-season match.

I don't think, this defeat will move any Manchester city fans, because they know what Manchester city can do when the premier league competition and other competition start, and they will still going to display well next season. That is the strategy many managers are using in this pre-season matches, because that is the best way to test their new players or to allow the players they always bench in some matches to showcase their talents for their managers to know how good they are in this summer season, which is what Manchester city manager did in this pre-season match. As long Manchester city manager is still with Manchester city in this season till next season, they will still get it right next season, because he know what to do to correct the mistakes of his players in this pre-season matches for them to perform well when tournament start.

Except I did place a bet in this game thinking Man City would be victorious, I don`t see any reason to bother myself about  the outcome since I know this is just pre-season matches it doesn`t really count and from the fact that we know how consistent City as always been when the league begins.

Only Guardiola has been better than me — Erik ten Hag brags

This is the fifth year running that Manchester City has dominated the EPL. Pep Guardiola has dominated over every single manager in the EPL including Jurgen Klopp, Mikel Arteta and others. But Erik Ten Hag sees things differently, he says Pep Guardiola is the only manager to have won more trophies than him in recent times. In the past two years where ETH has been Manchester United’s manger, he’s had two trophies to show in his acquisition. But by the standard of Manchester United, this shouldn’t be something to brag about. They have fallen down the pecking order. Manchester United Standard should be competing for league dominance and fighting for UEFA Champions league.

Come to think of it ETH is right, since he came to the EPL no manager have won any trophy that Man City are also competing and he has been the second best, where we have Arteta, Klopp and the others, you see him getting a trophy out of the two coaches so why are we saying he isn't the second best? Fine Manchester United haven't been pretty good but let's give the man some credit for the little he has done with the side by winning something no matter how small it is and some would want ETH to win the EPL title but he can't win it because they're not up to that level.

What ETH said was the truth here.  Ten Hag counted it since he came to United, and it's not about overall performance. Ten Hag won two trophies in his two seasons at Manchester United. Arteta and Klopp are tied for third with one trophy each. Arteta won 1 Community Shield and Klopp 1 Carabao Cup. It makes sense for Ten Hag to claim he's the best after Pep Guardiola. He did not count the overall performance, and It was only since 2022/2023. Ten Hag is now rebuilding his club seriously. We may see Manchester United come back to compete with City and Arsenal for the EPL trophy.

ETH should cut us some slack, he hasn't really shown too much of excellence to pride himself to be the second best after pep guardiola, the aesthetics of his overall performance for last season and the season before doesn't place him above Mikel arteta, we respect the fact that he won the 2023/2024 FA cup which gave him the leverage to qualify for the Europa league next season, meanwhile Mikel arteta is competing on a higher ground in the champions league. So for me, I will certainly place arteta over ETH. if there are any magic ETH wants to perform, let him do it this coming season.

Enzo Fernandez after winning the Copa America with his national team Argentina posted a video on his social media account which appeared to be racist chants that targeted France national team players, the video drew criticisms from many especially from France internationals and some even had to unfollow him on social media. However, he has publicly apologized since fbe incident happened and today, Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca as well as the captain Reece James in their interview has disclosed that Enzo Fernandez will be accepted back to the team when he rejoins with the squad after his summer holiday. It's a good news for Chelsea fans if you ask me but Fernandez who have been forgiven by all must be careful of his actions going forward so that  people don't see him as a racist

A lot of things do not surprise me anyone. I still remember people who defended the former president of the Spanish football federation after he had the controversy over kissing one of the players in the Spanish national team after they won the Women's World Cup.

Likewise I see people trying to defend the song. Then again Enzo is not the first player to have made some kind of racial slur. Luis Suárez, John Terry have had some racial issues in the past and they survived it with their career intact. Enzo Fernandez has made a public apology and I think with the right PR, his career may be able to survive this.
