Osimhen ended up at Galatasaray on a season long loan but he was happy fulfilling a dream of his to wear the jersey of his footballing hero Drogba. He would have preferred to have been at Chelsea but the deal collapsed.

I find two things strange in this saga. The first is that Conte being the new manager froze out Osimhen and told him he will not be part of his first team plans therefore he should find himself a new club and the second, how did he end up at Galatasaray (and Europa League football) when PSG and Chelsea were chasing him for large part of the transfer window.

Anyway, Galatasaray will pay Osimhen his €10 million salary and have paid around €6.5 million to Napoli for the season long loan. Now Osimhen will play alongside ex-Napoli teammate Mertens (the record Napoli goalscorer).

Ugarte signs for Manchester United, here we go.    First the sides were said to be close to a loan agreement. But all of a sudden we find out that it is a permanent deal. 50m euros + 10m euros bonuses.

I think it is a great deal. Maybe some will find this sum too much. But I think it is okay considering how much they spent on Leny Yoro transfer. Ugarte is a talented defensive midfielder.

They are making many moves for strengthening the defense. I hope this bring results in the short term. They are still lacking in defense as you can see from the recent results also. 

In the end, Man United could get their final piece of the pie, even though it had to go through a very long process and negotiations. Now it remains to be seen if he could bring a new color to the midfield and make Man United even stronger. It might not be easy, considering Man United are still without their full squad due to injuries to Hojlund and Leny Yoro but with his presence it is hoped that he can make a difference (it's quite unfortunate that he couldn't play in the match against Liverpool).

Manchester United has carried out negotiations in a very tough process to get the best players for the English league round in 2024/2025, perhaps it is hoped that they will want to show full strength on the front lines this season. Man United, after being in decline several years ago, is now starting to rise again and wants to win the league after not lifting a league trophy for a long time. Injured players such as Houjlund and Leny Yoro are still unsure whether they will be able to play against Liverpool in the next match because they are still not fully recovered, hopefully Man United can give their best performance against Liverpool.

Well, they were a goal up and were down to ten men with around 40 minutes of the second half remaining. I am sure Arteta would have thought even with that they should have won the game considering it was being played at (their) home. Had it been Liverpool or Manchester City maybe he would have been happy with a point but with Brighton he probably feels they should take taken all three.

Mmm...  Dunno.  I think Brighton has a decent squad managed by a decent manager.  With just 10 men, I think Arsenal were relieved and happy to have gotten a point out of that match.  If it were a club lower down the table like Ipswich or say Everton then yeah, I'd prolly agree.  But then again 10 men?  It's hard for any manager, even for a manager leading a club at the top of the table.

And it's gonna be a tough one for Arsenal as after getting a draw vs Brighton, they'll be in a tough one with a derby.  More pressure for them to get all three points.

In news today Aston Villa announced their ticket prices for their champions league games. Not surprisingly their fans have been disappointed they will increase ticket prices to around £70-£97 for their home games and many of them fear that it could pave the way for them to do the same for their Premier League games next season.

As Aston Villa made it this far after many years they probably should have kept their champions league ticket prices low to thank their fans but they opted against it and they should at least reassure their fans they will not increase premier league ticket prices next season.

He will see out the whole of the loan move to Galatasaray. He will add to their strong attack minded team and would want to be a success there and after that he will probably end up at Chelsea. He certainly wants to follow Drogba to Chelsea and they definitely want Osimhen too therefore I believe it will happen.

What cannot be denied is that without him Napoli would not have won Serie A because he was playing stunning football. It is sad the way he was treated by Napoli after he signed a new contract with a massive release clause and then was effectively banished from the first team by incoming manager Conte.

Osimhen was demanding more than our max wage cap and the owners were not ready to break our wage structure, we were €3m apart. But going to Turkey for a dry loan is even worse.

News sources have written like Osimhen is going to earn 6m euros during his loan. However it turns out Galatasaray is paying 10m euros of his salary and the rest is met by Napoli.

I don't know how much he demanded from Chelsea. But I must admit I'm still very surprised to see him in Turkey. Normally you might expect this kind of players to go there only after getting really old. Like Dzeko example.

I have heard Osimhen has extended his contract with Napoli until 2027 too. I don't know how this happened because he looked very determined to leave. Conte also didn't want him, just interesting...

Maybe my only change would be that Ipswich Town will score and maybe even make a draw against Brighton. Another change would be that Everton when is playing against Aston Villa they always do great games and almost every time they manage to score aswell. However , the rest of the picks are on point and I would have chose the same thing. Now all is left is to wait for games to being and maybe even trow a bet here and there , right ?

By the way, it’s quite ironic, but with Galatasaray Osimhen will play in the European Cup (Europa League), but with Napoli he would only play in Serie A. If Galatasaray had made it to the Champions League, it would have been even funnier, but Young Boys pulled off one of the biggest upsets in the playoffs, so Osimhen will play in the Europa League.
As for the move to Chelsea, a lot will depend on how Osimhen shows himself in the new club, what Chelsea offered in terms of salary was not serious.

Ipswich Town are going to find the Premier League tough even though they had brilliant success in the Championship last season. I do not see Brighton dropping any points against them.

In the other game you mentioned, the problem for Everton is that they have played three games and lost all three whereas Aston Villa have played three and have lost one but more importantly won two. For me, this means very bad news for Everton because Aston Villa have got too much talent in their squad compared with what Everton have to offer. I expect a win for Aston Villa.

I got only one problem with your picks as they all look like favourable winners except Southampton. Man Utd will defeat Southampton, I mean they got to bounce back to winning ways after that display against Liverpool.

Nice, I would agree only on a few wins but some I'm having doubt already because they usually seem to turn the table for me. Chelsea exactly is what I'm talking about, would have love to see Chelsea win even though that have had a big win recently it doesn't give me the assurance that they will win because anytime I take Chelsea for winning I end up being disappointed so i will just have to go with double chance.

I found the summer quite boring too because there was not enough meaningful football to watch. I know we had the Euro 24 tournament but it was not brilliant overall even though there were some excellent games involving the less favoured teams. For me, the teams that have the highlights were Albania, Slovenia, Slovakia and Turkiye. Even while the tournament was being played I was waiting for the Premier League to start because it is the best (and most competitive) league in the world.

Manchester United look like a team that is waiting to be defeated every time they get on the field, they look they have lost the game before the ball is even kicked. In the coming days if Ten Hag is sacked then they have to bring in the best possible replacement otherwise they will not even achieve a top ten finish this season. Southampton are at home and in desperate need to give their fans something to cheer about and this is the best possible time to face Manchester United (not because they were beaten 0-3 by Liverpool but because they have an awful style of play).

If Ugarte makes his debut they might win the game or at least get a point and turn their season around but other than that they seems to be a complete shambles and maybe Southampton can get their season going by taking advantage of it.

In the end this is the Premier League therefore we will always see some shock results from time to time. I have some doubts about Crystal Palace too. Because the competitor they are against is Leicester. Jamie Vardy is still cooking.    They made difficulties for Aston Villa last week. That offside call prevented their chance to score from a probable penalty and getting a draw.

I think the same about the rest of your choices. I hope especially Chelsea win this time. They missed a big chance to win against Crystal Palace despite playing much better.

Nobody can trust Manchester United to win a game these days because they are playing average football in the most competitive football league and usually that means the other team wins. Crystal Palace deserve a lot of credit because regardless of how good or bad Chelsea played, they soaked up the Chelsea attack and managed to get a point from a difficult away game. Still, maybe Vardy will have a massive contribution for Leicester City with his goals (or lack of) this season and maybe they will get something from the game.

Nobody can trust Manchester United to win a game these days because they are playing average football in the most competitive football league and usually that means the other team wins. I'm still pretty sure Man United can win the next match because there will be a new face in their squad, that is Manuel Ugarte. He may not carry Man United alone because to win it still has to rely on the front line to score goals. But his presence will at least make the back line stronger, and what is quite a relief, there will be no more blunders from Casemiro because he will definitely be pushed to the bench.

Southampton will indeed be playing at home, but their condition is not better than Man United. So Man United have a good chance here and they have to get that win because it will be very important for their mentality.

I think,we cannot predict hundred percent correct but we can predict almost 70 to 80 percent. I agree with you in most of matches . Liverpool team is good team and they are performing good in the tournament and the players of that team are players which are my favorite. They always did great practice to win the match as we watched them in last matches in which they did well. Manchester United is also good team and that team has capacity to win the match against Southampton and I didn't agree with you about that team . In my opinion, Crystal Palace is good team and has capability to win next match because players have good stamina and can play in every kind of situation.

There are several solid options here, but Southampton is just too far off and too risky for me. Manutd are ass, but Southampton are far worse than they are; I predict Manutd to win this one. ETH is already under pressure, and losing to Southampton would put him under much greater strain, which I am sure he does not want. He will give the fans a boost of confidence by comfortably beating Southampton.

I understand that international break is on and there are less topics to discuss, but there is no need to quote everyone in the thread to make your post longer. Follow the guidelines and enjoy the discussion.
