Wasabi announced Wallet 2.0. According to the developers, Wallet 2.0 will help Bitcoin scale faster, will also help prepare Bitcoin for mass adoption and improve privacy. -snip-
Have you tried downloading the Wasabi wallet 2.0?
It looks like the download link on the wasabi site hasn't been updated. When I tried to download the latest version, it turned out that the Wasabi Wallet link was still version 1.1.12.2.

I guess you should have read the whole blog post as clearly Wasabi Wallet 2.0 is not there yet!  Wink

You've beaten me to it. But I've written my own words instead of pasting from the blog  Wink   (maybe you should quote it)
The fact the title is "announcement" is a bit tricky imho (pre-ann would have been better).
But the fact the UI "image" is a mock-up should have been the first clue.
And yes, missing the ETA part is.. well, funny Grin

nopara is a funny guy. The ETA part was so hilarious when I read it.
He is saying that, if everything plays out well, we will see Wasabi Wallet 2.0 in 14 months. The only fact of giving a 3months option a 95% chance of missing the deadline is funny. Good for him he has no boss, try giving those estimates as a Project Manager.  Grin Grin Grin

My mistake was not checking the details, including the ETA information (Estimated Time of Arrival) on the Wasabi blog.  :)
Because the information listed in the OP is only partially documented, and I thought the Wasabi 2.0 wallet was already available.

Seems like there are some high hopes for it:
Quote
Wasabi 2.0 may be Bitcoin's last chance to scale gracefully.
So if this is a failure we will either not scale this century or we're going to do totally ungracefully, what that would be, putting on weight and turning to 10MB blocks and dance like a hippo around a murky mempool?  Grin As for mass adoption, I wonder how this will go if all the exchanges are going to do what Binance tried, you will end up using two wallets if you want to deal with them.  Nevertheless, it's good to know it's still being developed, high hopes or not, we'll see in..9 months?

The fact the title is "announcement" is a bit tricky imho (pre-ann would have been better).

Probably got bored working in secrecy for it and said let's have some fun, a bit of publicity can't hurt one bit, I'm certain a lot of people reading the news will try the wallet for the first time.

That's the wrong attitude. How would these newly developed technologies' usage scale without a good UI/UX? I believe we wouldn't be using computers like we do today, without the "lame" Apple.

Looks like the UI is inspired by UWP application, which is more friendly for most people. Maybe people on this forum will suggest Wasabi Wallet rather than Electrum in future, unless LN is involed.

Seems like there are some high hopes for it:

Based on the context, i think it means bitcoin adaption scaling while preserve user's privacy. Unfortunately most people have/use smartphone rather than computer/laptop these days.

Means mass adoption, which is only possible if transaction-throughput is higher. I believe LN can solve both the higher throughput aspect, and the privacy aspect.

How many times we saw best case scenarios for Crypto ETA?

I would say ZERO, so I expect Wasabi 2.0 to come out  in between 3 and 14 months, but I don't see anything revolutionary here, except modern design.

How exactly are they thinking that CoinJoin will facilitate faster mass Bitcoin adoption, with some magic tricks maybe. Smiley

[...] so I expect Wasabi 2.0 to come out  in between 3 and 14 months

Well, that's exactly what the ETA says.

How exactly are they thinking that CoinJoin will facilitate faster mass Bitcoin adoption, with some magic tricks maybe. Smiley

Who said that?

You should try to read more carefully. No one ever said that ConJoin will lead to faster mass adoption or something along the lines.

OP said:
Wasabi announced Wallet 2.0. According to the developers, Wallet 2.0 will help Bitcoin scale faster, will also help prepare Bitcoin for mass adoption and improve privacy.

From their blog:
Therefore, our goal cannot be anything else but to make Bitcoin ready for mass adoption. To achieve this, we must start with its weakest link: privacy.

Both statements are completely true and do not mean that CoinJoin facilitates faster mass adoption..

Please double-check your posts before submitting. Don't talk rubbish.

I saw nopara73 hyping this up weeks ago(if I remember correctly?) and as an amateur web designer and UI junkie, I LOVE IT. Like it or not(and they probably know this already), but your program/app needs to have great UI and UX if you want the non-techie masses to actually use it.

For those interested, here are some more screenshot grabbed from nopara73's Twitter account(@nopara73):

As long as it works the way it is intended, I do not actually care about any UX and/or UI improvements.  Grin
Give me the right anonymity sets, give me excellent coin control, keep me away from toxic waste and I will leave happily-ever-after.
That's the wrong attitude. How would these newly developed technologies' usage scale without a good UI/UX? I believe we wouldn't be using computers like we do today, without the "lame" Apple.
I have mixed feelings about this: even with the best UX/UI, interface, wallet available there would be still the mixing/tumbling/money laundering stigma regarding using those privacy tools. It's about the narrative, not the marketing gimmicks of a fancy and sleek UI/UX.
I wish those tools were built-in into the protocol from the start: those should have been already a feature and not an option.
It would be interesting to know how do you guys feel about it.

You want tumbling/Coinjoin technology to only be easily usable/accessible to a small group of technical people? That's not right. What if Satoshi had the same attitude when he was developing Bitcoin?

Plus if nopara wouldn't develop a UI for newbies, I believe someone else will, like Samourai Wallet.

I didn't say that: I'll try to explain myself in a clearer way. It's not about the interface, it's about the tool: no matter how beautiful/usable a tool is if it is seen as a bad thing to conceal the origin of your coins, whatever effort one could make to present the tool nicely, what it actually does it's what matters. And if the nice guys don't like it, there's no UI to beat it.
For the above reasons, I wrote it would have been much better having those tools embedded from the start already.
Was I clear enough now?

OK, clear now. BUT, should nopara73 give up on UI/UX, and not try to make mixing technology/CoinJoin more accessible to the masses though? Isn't more liquidity required for it to actually work?

Of course, but I guess it's a responsibility for all of us and that should not be demanded to some nicer interface.
Bitcoin investors may not recognise its true power, but the impulse behind this computer-generated wonder is revolutionary: to take the production and control of money away from the government. This has tremendous implications for anybody's wealth preservation.
Again, it's not only like making that technology easy and usable for the masses rather combining that to a meaningful SO WHAT? Why should I use bitcoin? Why bitcoin matters in my life? What am I able to do with that?
I am going OT and I stop here but I believe many share my opinions.

But fungibility is a property that is important for a "money" too, which can only be achieved in Bitcoin through tumbling/CoinJoin.

There are some updates for upcoming Wasabi 2.0 wallet and first released version will be Internal Preview with basic features and working only with TestNet network.
This will be released in range between range anywhere between 5 to 14 weeks, and after that Release Candidates will be publish for testing in general public.
Interesting thing they added is dark/light theme switch and much improved interface, as you can check in their video Wasabi Wallet 2.0 In The Finish Line Introduction & Demo:

Few days ago Wasabi released TestNet Release of their new wallet with major improvements and you can only test how it works for now.
I have to say that interface is much better, but what's under the hood is more important, because there are not more limitations for Coinjoin.
NOTE that this should only be used with testnet coins, and you can report any bugs you find to developers.
Download is available for Linux, Mac and WiNd0ws on Wasabi Github page:

https://github.com/zkSNACKs/WalletWasabi/releases/tag/v1.98.0.0

You can get testnet coins from any of this faucets:
https://testnet-faucet.mempool.co/
https://bitcoinfaucet.uo1.net/
https://kuttler.eu/en/bitcoin/btc/faucet/
https://testnet-faucet.com/btc-testnet/

Wasabi developers released official explanation for latest zkSNACKs Blacklisting Update, and how that is going to affect future of Wasabi wallet.
They admit the mistake of using one default coordinator for their wallet and they are blacklisting it, instead of discontinuing zkSNACKs, claiming they are doing this for survival of privacy on Bitcoion...  Cheesy
Going anonymous is mission impossible according to them and they think it's a bad idea, but what is surprising to me is they are claiming that Wasabi coinjoins increased multiple times since their announcement (of death with a candle tweeter post).
They still didn't explain how exactly is zkSNACKs Ltd going to blacklist certain unspent transaction outputs if they are not monitoring and collecting user data  Roll Eyes

PS
I think their new logo jinxed it.
