In fact, the form of the players depends on the clubs and not on the coaches of the national teams because the clubs determine the plan for the season and the peaks / downturns of the players' functional readiness. So we really shouldn't blame Şenol Güneş. I think those who made the decision to resign the coach are more knowledgeable about the situation within the team and perhaps they decided that it wouldn’t be worse. Perhaps there were some internal contradictions and with the coach's resignation they will be resolved or at least mitigated.
Since national teams have so little time to practice with each other then what the coach can do is limited, for what I have seen most of the time the reason a coach is fired has to do with the players not wanting him there anymore, the only exception is if the results are really terrible but other than that if the team is playing decently the coach will keep his job with the players on is side, but if this is not the case then the days of the coach are numbered as it is easier to replace the coach, as when it comes to national teams you cannot go in a shopping spree as they are limited to the players which have the citizenship of the country.

Still, it turns out that the total failure at the European Championship 2020 is the main reason for his dismissal. Apparently the issue of his dismissal was discussed for some time, as he was not fired immediately after the championship, but the weak play of the national team in recent matches was the last impetus to this decision.

Firing a national coach is not always that simple. There has to be a series of negative events for that to happen.
The training limitations they have, and the lack of time with the players, among other internal factors, means that the national federations do not drop the coach right away in the first problems (even when it is clear that that coach will not give the team anything more ).

National coaches have a hard time. They get so much less time compared to the club coaches. I think national coaches have to stay idle for almost 9 to 10 months a year. And with what little time they get, it's hard to make up strategies around those players. Team chemistry is also a big issue over here. Though they are from the same country, but they get the time on the pitch altogether so less which effects them. That's why if countries don't have some start players, so can win matches with individual performances, it's hard for them to do better.

Maybe this is subjective, but it always seemed to me that working as a national team coach is something like a freebie compared to being a club coach  Cheesy Little depends on you, therefore, it makes no sense to strain too much (and there is no such amount of work) if your team performed successfully then you are a hero, if not - well, it's okay. Plus, famous coaches receive huge salaries in their posts, sometimes even significantly higher than their earnings in clubs.

With the short time that a coach in the national team has, it will greatly affect the country being trained towards a match of the caliber of the world cup, especially for countries that are strengthened by the majority of stars and they must be more careful in calling the composition of the team that will be selected. being included in the four-year event, especially for the world cup itself they only played three matches in the group stage, so it would be very limited to play all the players in the squad.so that's what makes coaches in their respective national teams very frustrated if they feel the song is in formulating strategies that will be applied in the field

So far turkey has won 3 times, drawn 2 times and lost 1 time out of 6 matches, I saw in group G, besides netherlands only Norway has a fairly balanced squad with Turkey and if in the next match Turkey can beat Norway of course they will have more chances to lock at least in second place in the standings.
The chance for turkey to qualify for the next round is still very large considering they will face the next 3 matches against a team that in my opinion is relatively below their level.

That's what I have said last week. They don't play against some strong nations so they should have a good chance to qualify. The only question is how will the team react to the new coach.
Your right the thing that will decide if they can get the second position is how well will they improve with this new coach and they have all the tools with a solid squad in my opinion they have a stronger one than norway.

even if it is like that, but it is necessary to realize that being a coach in the national team and a coach at a club is different and the coach should know about it.
Despite the limited communication and time between coaches and players I think all countries go through the same thing. because indeed, especially players who in fact play in the top leagues will definitely be very hampered because their schedules are always packed.
Besides that, this is a challenge that must be accepted and maybe the expectations from Turkey are too high and not worth the performance.

A national coach has to work hard on teamwork, so the chosen players can work well together. This sometimes involves years of work, involving these players early on, in the youth teams.

The problem starts to arise, when the coach starts to only choose certain players, just because he likes them and not for their quality, to the detriment of others who are having much better performances. This unbalances the group, and even if everyone gets along well, the results are not going to be very positive.
That would be the ideal process, players that know each other when they were young or even kids and the coach rises out with them, this way you will have the perfect combination of the best quality payers while at the same time the coach will have their total respect as they have also knew them for a very long time, but very few national teams go through something like that, most of the time they just grab the players which are playing the best soccer at the moment and then throw them together in the field and hope for the best.

Your right the thing that will decide if they can get the second position is how well will they improve with this new coach and they have all the tools with a solid squad in my opinion they have a stronger one than norway.

I'm from Croatia (Dinamo Zagreb fan) so I Kknow a thing or two about changing coaches Grin The respect that coach has in the team is just as important as his knowledge. Because once the faith is lost, you can have the best players in the world but it won't matter. They will play bad. This is particularly important when coaching a national team because a coach is not always with the players. A coach have few days before each period reserved for the national teams matches to put together players that rarely play together.

The next set of matches are scheduled for next week (8th to 12th October). Each team will be playing two matches each. And after this round, we will be having a clear idea about the teams that are going to qualify for Qatar 2022 (at least for most of the groups). I have created a list of most important matches. Check out this list (only in cases which can have an impact on qualification prospects):

Finland vs Ukraine (battle for the second spot in Group D) - 9th Oct
Czechia vs Wales (for second spot in Group E) - 8th Oct
Scotland vs Israel (second spot in Group F) - 9th Oct
Turkey vs Norway (Group G, for 1st, 2nd, 3rd spot) - 8th Oct
Russia vs Slovakia, Russia vs Slovenia (RU needs to win both to gain top spot in Group H) - 8th Oct, 11th Oct.
Albania vs Poland (Group I, second spot) - 12th Oct
Romania vs Armenia (Group J, second spot) - 11th Oct

As far as I know, Kuntz is a great coach, in addition to having and applying a lot of discipline, I think he must make the pertinent changes so that the team has a better result, Norway is a team that becomes very strong, In addition to its style football is usually something different and they don't play bad at all.

He is a good coach but he doesn't have any experience in major level. He only managed youth team. His achievement is still very successful, but we don't know how he manages Turkish first team. Player pool is not very big, some players are way behind of their club careers performance wise, some players don't give their %100 (cou.. Çalhan.. ough) purposefully. It's hard to manage Turkish national team for a foreigner. Lucescu was successful at his first stay but his last times was a big disaster. I hope Kuntz can take Turkish team to World Cup 2022, the whole nation need that.

Yes, you are right, for the moment it is imperative that they give confidence to Turkey, in fact the Turkish team has a very good level of football, perhaps the situation is as you say, there are no players who are famous or who are highly named , but that's where Kuntz's management is, in involving the whole team that he has to take him to the World Cup, looking at the qualifying standings for Qatar, Turkey is mathematically with great options to do it, and that is a great opportunity.

I would add game Croatia vs Slovakia. Croatia is currently sitting on top of the group with Russia second and both have 13 points. Slovakia is third with 9 points and for Croatia this is a chance to increase the point difference. Ideal outcome of this round for Croatia would be to beat Cyprus on Friday and that Slovakia beat Russia on that day. Of course, then Croatia must beat Slovakia on Monday.

We will see. Things are getting interesting as the end of qualifications is approaching. If I'm not wrong, there is only one round left (with two games for each team) after this round.

Kuntz is good, yet I am surprised he took on the challenge to become Turkish national coach. Turkey gets into trouble during those games when they get under pressure early and concede a goal. They have not really been known for famous comebacks. It's a very interesting game, but sadly Haaland will miss it. That's painful not only for the Norwegian team, but also for the audience.

Turkey has a better roster than what results they got. Players like Merih and Caglar at defense who we all know could be a mean duo even on best teams, right back from latest French champions, also striker as well, Cengiz Under for wing, Hakan Calhanoglu for midfield, all in all they really have world class players in their roster that is for sure.

There are some positions which are weak, obviously they can't have world class players in every single position, not many teams do, but at least they do have players which worth 20+ million euros in multiple positions, which is what they should be looking for. The problem with the team is not the roster but the way they play, as long as they keep playing decently with a good tactic, they have the overall talent to beat most teams, which they have shown before by beating Norway, Netherlands, France and so forth in the past 1-2 years.

While it is true that a new coach is not going to be able to do much for the team with so little time especially since we are talking about national teams and not clubs, at the same time just the hope that things could get better can be more than enough to help a team to play better than what they did with the previous coach, and if the Turkey team plays well that can be more than enough to give them confidence in the coach, which will create a reinforcing circle which could get them into a better shape really quickly.

I believe that Russia is a stronger team when compared to Slovakia. So it is possible for Russia to get two wins from their matches. Now Cyprus is a team that is well known for making upsets, so it is not going to be easy for Croatia. Both Russia and Croatia are having 13 points (Croatia having a one goal net difference when compared to Russia). So how these two teams perform next week will decide who will top the Group H. I don't think that now it is possible for either Slovakia or Slovenia to garner enough points to climb to the second position.

I too think that Russia is better team than Slovakia. I'm just saying what would be an ideal scenario for Croatia. Of course, Croatia can have a bad day and slip against Cyprus but I hope that won't be the case Smiley

WCQ matches are starting again. Group G will continue with the match between Turkey and Norway to be played in Turkey. In the first match, Turkey won 3-0 in Norway. I read that Haaland will not be in this match. Great loss for Norway. It will be the first match of Turkey with the new coach Stefan Kuntz. I'm curious about the mental and tactical changes in the game.

At Norway, Erling Haaland and Alexander Sörloth both will not be able to play. Because they are still injured. This is very good news for the Turkey side as Norway are going to have serious problems on scoring goals. Turkey are making a new beginning with Stefan Kuntz and this is their first official game. I think that it is time to start having good results in the coming games. And this match seem like a golden opportunity.
