Max Verstappen is leading on driver standing but it is much closer than I expected and Mercedes is leading constructor race, that is promising very interesting rest of the season.
Next Aramco race in United States could be very important for rating, as well as races in Mexico and Brazil.

A breathtaking race in every sense of the word, everyone didn't know what to do!!

I believe this is why Bottas won it because he was already the leader getting pole position from the qualifying race so to start ahead in this one.
All he needed to do was hold them all at bay the entire way. Hamilton was making moves and from the earlier laps at one point down from 11th place and got to 4th in no time. Although Alpha Tauri and Ferrari were giving him problems to pass but he managed to get through them easily.

This race basically showed me that Mercedes might have got their car a lot better in the last few races. Looking at how Max wasn't getting any closer to Bottas showed me that Mercedes must be better than Red Bull right now. Bottas is not a bad racer, you do not become second driver in a Mercedes car by being a bad driver, you need to be a great driver in order to do that.

However at the same time I believe that we know Hamilton is much much better than Bottas as well, dude won nearly every year, or maybe even every year when they were together right? In any case I feel like there is a good chance Max would have caught up to Bottas when they were so close, and he failed to do that and very convincingly as well.

It means if it wasn't Bottas, if it was Hamilton, then Max had no chance at all, he would have lost this one, when Red Bull is ahead then it is easier for them to keep Mercedes behind (as we saw from Perez vs Hamilton this race) but when Mercedes takes off, then nobody gets even closer.

Agree with rdbase. Bottas can only win if he holds everybody off. I don't think he's a great person at overtaking, and definitely not with others around him. So maybe it's the only tactic he can manage now. Get into pole, so do your best in qualifying, and then just keep it there and frustrate everyone else or get teammates to do that job.

I tend to agree with this, but next year(s) will actually get to prove you/us wrong or right.

That is true, track gave an advantage to Mercedes. Bottas was miles ahead of the other racers and see even though Verstappen was doing so good, he was no near Bottas. If you see the final result, the ranking from 2nd or 3rd to 7th doesn't have that much gap in between them but the gap between Bottas and Verstappen was a huge 14 seconds.

I'm sure the tactic's been tried before with some success and some failures but yes I think next couple of years we see interesting partnerships, new heroes and new talents getting more mature, and I think more and more teams will now sacrifice one driver for another as the rules and points keep changing

Well more tracks are being built for this. We recently heard the news of F1 races being held in Qatar. Also, there are a number of places where new tracks are being built. This will have a positive effect on two things -
1. F1 will expand to new areas and gain more followers and
2. New tracks mean a new challenge for all the teams and teams like Mercedes won't have the edge in that because of years of practice in it.

It's not only about the years of practice on those tracks.
Some tracks have longer straight lines, some have shorter; some have tigher corners, some have them wider; some allow easier overtaking by being wider overall, some don't... and so on.
This kind of differences will favor one car or another, one driver or another, not necessarily because of the years of practice.

Yeah, that's really good news for the sports. Of course I totally understand why there should be tracks that are famous and pulls crowds every year Monza is the perfect example in my opinion and before we had many more in Asia (but not F1 just other levels).

But for the spirit of competitiveness, the tracks should always be challenging not because of the way they are built or the weather etc, but also because all teams are equally unfamiliar.

Of course, I still think the Belgium weather thing is not something I hope for. I prefer everyone is safe rather than to blindly risk everything just for the sake of entertainment.

It was getting too predictable and the sport does need some of this questionable action so to keep it exciting for the fans.
Who wants to see max and hamilton win it week in and week out every time?
I am glad bottas won it in Turkey and hope the one in the US is just as unpredictable for more attraction to the sport.

I agree with what you said because in the last races it was like that, maybe even in the Max Verstappen race the only person who could be considered a threat because of being behind bottas from time to time.
but what I like about him in yesterday's race is that he always looks good and slick and is able to maintain the position he has and this bottas victory can also be called helping his team mate, Lewis Hamilton, to be able to catch Verstappen again in the hunt for the 2021 world title

One thing that I admire about Bottas is on how consistent he drives every race. In addition, he is a bit compliant regarding their team's decision to let Hamilton through but this will all change once he transfers to Alfa Romeo this 2022!

In addition, I think that the next race will favor Mercedes along with the wide curves and straights on the racing field. Along with a hungry and mad Hamilton, he surely won't miss this opportunity to grab more points and to be the leader against Verstappen.

The end of the current F1 season will be so entertaining to watch as we can see that no one is backing up from the fight and Mercedes seems to have found another + on their car and they have that extra power again in front of RedBull ....but will Honda leave it like this ? I doubt it. Honda will put all their efforts into this year in order to win the championship with Verstappen so I think after the USA GP , the cars will be equal again as for now Mercedes had the upper hand again.

By the way, it may be too early, but it is still interesting that at the race in Mexico City, (which follows the US Grand Prix in Austin) in the last 4 years of 2016-2019, Hamilton won twice (2016,19) and Verstappen twice (2017,18). 
 And by the way, there is also a long high-speed section, where the speed is more than 360 km/h. 
If we talk about the race in Austin, then I also think that Bottas will seriously help Hamilton.  But let's see.

It is a bit weird to see the driver's standings to be that close right now. We are so used to seeing the situation a lot different by this time, Hamilton usually reaches to point level where he already guarantees to become champions by this time.

It is is good to see that the situation is not over anymore but I am not really sure how to feel about this. I am a big fan of Lando Norris so I would have to say that there is nothing that changes for me if Max wins versus Hamilton, or if Hamilton ends up winning by the end, for me it is both the same. However we are watching one of the best rivalries that Hamilton ever had, for the past championships he didn't had any competition at all (except his own teammate) so this is a weird new feeling.
