Also, Usyk while definitely having a chance here in this fight, has the better odds if your looking for value of money. I've got Usyk at 2.75 while Joshua was something like 1.40, which in my opinion is far to wide considering the opposition, and record of Usyk.

I might go for Usyk by decision. There will likely be a few Joshua knockdowns, but I believe Usyk will be able to out point him with what I consider his superior boxing, and might just be able to get some knockdowns himself.

Like all the majority here I also voted for Joshua to win the fight Usyk is a good fighter with a good knock out ratio, but Joshua is now a different beast after a huge upset in the hands of Ruiz, I don't think he will make the same mistake as he did with Ruiz and that is overestimating his opponent, he is more calculated, always train hard and never take a chance I see employing the same method as he did with Ruiz.

The difference is that Usyk is not Ruiz, if we are honest Ruiz got lucky on the first fight with that punch behind the ear that left Joshua disoriented all the fight and when it came the second fight I knew what the result will be just by looking at the fighters being weighted, Joshua was lighter and more agile while Ruiz came way heavier, Usyk is a great boxer and I think he has been working on increasing his punching power, so with all that in mind I think that a bet on Usyk makes more sense now as it could pay good money as the odds are too favorable to Joshua.

Usyk is a dangerous opponent he is undefeated he is hungry and he wants to be in the spotlight and he knows that Joshua has a weak spot it was exposed by Ruiz, when he was upset so it's going to be an interesting match, Joshua is on it's way to a great legacy if he can unite all titles and he must hurdle this one so he can have a chance on unifying the heavyweight crown, I'm sure he will fight whoever wins on the Wilder - Fury third fight.

AJ- Fury will surely push one and i dont see for Wilder to have another chance or simply that cry baby would able to take that trilogy unless if there would be some business involved in the middle line then expect the unexpected.

For AJ and Usyk then  i do agree that Usyk is a dangerous opponent that he shouldnt really be going easy on it because you wouldnt know on when that lucky punch would go in. Its true that weakness had been exposed out

but we do really believe that AJ didnt overcome and resolved out that issue problem? For sure they are already prepared.

Usyk will surely have an advantage here. For sure he already knew the weaknesses of Joshua. Usyk is really aiming to win this fight and he had a long preparation for it. However, Joshua still has a good record and I believe that he'll do everything to maintain it. It will surely be a great and exciting match.

The level of motivation of a fighter cannot be underestimated, Usyk is hungry, he was the undisputed cruiserweight champion and despite this he is still hungry for more glory as he knows the most popular division is the heavyweight division and he wants to become successful on that division as well, but when I see Joshua I do not see that same hunger, I see someone just fighting to keep making money and be on the spotlight and despite the advantage he has in height and reach I will pick Usyk to win this fight.

Seriously ... 3 votes for Usik? I'm just wondering what was the motivation behind the people when they voted for Joshua ...

I have casted my vote for Usyk. By all means he is superior of Joshua. His advantages rest  not only in boxing stance but in footwork, speed and creativity in fighting.

Dont forget that Usyk likes and often does long series of punches, while Joshua like 1-2 or 4 punch combination. The trick is, Usyk is able to throw 10 punch combo during all 12 round and still have enough stamina to move from Joshua strikes. I think that is the thing Joshua dont have - stamina. It is hard to pump all his muscles with oxygen during all 12 rounds.

Man, you forgot about the main thing .. For fighters from post-Soviet states, the guest duel is also an advantage, since the performance on the "enemy" territory is seriously motivating, (and I'm pretty sure that the Usyk mentality is no exception). You also very opportunely mentioned "boxing creativity", since I also tend to think that his boxing thinking is an order of magnitude superior to that of all modern boxers, (I hope we will see victory by knockout). Cool

This was one of the main problems on the first fight against Ruiz, after the third round in which they both knock each other out Ruiz despite not looking on the best physical shape had a lot of stamina left and Joshua was completely tired to the point he almost offered no resistance from that point on, he improved on the second fight but even then we could see he was administering his stamina, which is something he is not going to be able to do against someone like Usyk.

While I do agree with most of the points you said about Anthony Joshua, I think those are also some of the areas that he needs to improve on which I think he is addressing them now.

Usyk, on the other hand, is a hungry fighter. I watched some of his fights and he has this natural and raw talent that rarely do you see in boxing. While Anthony Joshua is gifted with his explosive power, I do think he lacks certain fundamentals that Usyk has. I am very eager to see the outcome of this fight and I'll cast my vote to the Usyk!

Wilder messed up the entire plans because of his legal actions if not we would have seen the most anticipated fights in history which was Joshua and Fury and now i am sure it will be an easy day for Fury in his trilogy but for Joshua it is a really good test and hopefully he will overcome that.

Whose weakness are you talking about, are you telling that the weakness of Joshua is exposed, you need to give credits to Andy Ruiz Jr as well because he was short and his hand speed was incredible and Joshua was not able to do anything in the fight and it was a clear defeat but he came back and fought well.
The weakness i see is that Joshua is not able to adapt on the fly in a fight when one method is not working.

And I agree, you do not get to have so much success and have all of those belts if you were not smart in addressing your deficiencies as a fighter, the biggest problem for Joshua however is one that he cannot correct and that is that his chin is kind of weak, if he receives a good punch there then he is going down, luckily for him Usyk does not have the biggest punching power but he is also working on that, so I am expecting a good fight but my money is on Usyk as well.

The fight is on for Saturday, 25 September 2021 according to Hearn.

https://www.dazn.com/en-GB/news/boxing/eddie-hearn-confirms-date-for-anthony-joshua-vs-oleksandr-usyk/1hppvktx4cezv16fjkkup43a6r

"Joshua v Usyk announcement, don't want to say two weeks as you guys are bored of me saying that. September 25 is the date." Said Hearn.

With Fury scheduled to defend his WBC title against Wilder on July 24th, a victory against the American will pave the way for an encounter with the winner of Joshua vs. Usyk"

I think it will be a closer fight than people are expecting. Could go the distance and I think AJ snatches it on points but it would be a bit of a road block towards the AJ Fury fight it AJ loses. If AJ makes it through I wonder if they could squeeze the first fight in before the end of the year, late December. Three months should be more than enough to prepare for that and they'll both be in tip top condition from their current respective fights so it would make sense to go straight into camp for the next one rather than dilly dally and get out of shape again. As long as there's no injuries for either party then it's certainly doable but otherwise next year it will have to be.

Here are the current odds of the fight:

Joshua @1.45
Usyk @2.95

That's only ML, there are no other betting options left. But I would tend to agree with @hilariousetc said, this is going to be close. Not going to be like a walk in the park for Joshua. Last time he did, he lost to Andy Ruiz. So he shouldn't take this fight lightly, as Usyk might pull an upset here.

Shouldn't that how everyone should compete in sports? Giving all they've got and their best? Joshua's defeat against Ruiz is a deserved one in my opinion, given how he isn't serious with that fight. Don't know much about Usyk but he seems to be good with combos that might weather out Joshua in later rounds.

Usyk has advanced from cruiserweight to heavyweight. He has got only 1 fight as a heavy, but won everything as a cruiser. He has a great number of amateur fight also. His strenght are speed and long combos. His weakness is lack of weight probably. He will be lightest heavyweight.

Joshua @1.45
Usyk @2.95
Live: Joshua, Anthony - Usyk, Oleksandr / 21.08.2021 [By the way, the date was also postponed]

I don’t know about you, but I found more profitable coefficients, and immediately made a small bet to come back to this event later ... but I still cannot believe that coefficient providers rate Usyk’s chances so low. Going back a little bit ... "Joshua is a great fighter ... but I'm afraid Usyk will ruin his career."  Roll Eyes

[...] in 2015 I watched Usyk's title defense live, and then he was no less a dangerous fighter than he is now. The only option in which Joshua can win is based on training the spirit .. no matter how strange it sounds, but probably his best solution would be to train and meditate in some kind of Tibetan monastery.
Seriously ... 3 votes for Usik? I'm just wondering what was the motivation behind the people when they voted for Joshua ... (besides sympathies based on nationality). Being left-handed is a big advantage in the boxing world, as lefties set the pace ... not to mention the mirror image. Btw, I looked at the historical summary and I see that the most epic fights with the greatest boxers were against left-handers, (I can easily make a bet with any hardcore Anthony fan).

~
Usyk has advanced from cruiserweight to heavyweight. He has got only 1 fight as a heavy, but won everything as a cruiser. He has a great number of amateur fight also. His strenght are speed and long combos. His weakness is lack of weight probably. He will be lightest heavyweight.
So this is his second fighting of Usyk in the Heavyweight division, i watched a few highlights and he fights smartly and i was thinking about Usyk having an advantage because of the hype he is getting from other forums and social media and i have not seen anyone mentioning that this is his second fight in the Heavyweight division, now i am having some hopes for Fury and Joshua  Cheesy.
