Thought Donk was going to leave the team in the middle of the StarLadder tournament match because they showed a clip of him leaving at halftime when they were down and he looked more pissed off than usual after losing. Storming out of the room at this Budapest major.

So Magixx is back with Team Spirit?
Well this makes their team members shuffling around a little more interesting now.

The others also had this speculation, but there's no way Spirit would fumble their best player and pull something similar to FaZe giving Ropz to Vitality.

At least they got their role players back, and that's what this team mostly needs, so they don't fall apart too quickly. I'm more interested in how their shot calling works now that chopper is out and magixx will probably be the new IGL. 

I think this team is going to fall apart any minute now, especially if Donk decides to do it. Because if he leaves, the team loses a lot. Spirit is trying to get some new players and make a splash, but they're achieving the complete opposite. What do you think about their team?

Can't see anything being decided until the New Years is over so to not ruin anybody's Christmas celebrations or going into the new year.
That would be too harsh of Team Spirit to do that to anyone on their squad right before departing to spend time with their families.
Unlike DOTA2 organizations who do not care and fire their team members on a whim no matter what time of the year it is.
Which I find pretty petty if you ask me. But most of the large orgs in this ESport genre are based out of China and are under communist rule so it does not surpise me one bit actually.

Just noticed there were some matches being played in dota today for the European Pro League 33 live right now.
Also there is a tournament in progress for CIS Battle 4 from Dec 20th to Dec 30th.

So I guess there still are professional teams playing DOTA2 during the holiday season after all.

4 actually are running right now and those are online tier 2-3 tournaments. Basically low tier tournament with max $20k as the prizepool, I personally hate these kind of tournaments because the results are very unpredictable. All those low tier teams making silly mistake somehow then the outcome of the game shifted so it doesnt really worth to bet on those

Yes, there are still some leagues that can be played even during the holidays but I think most of the tier 1 teams will have their break for this season and will be back on January for the next major that they'll participate. While this news[1] isn't from a tier 1 team, I usually see this team on CIS tournaments. Team of Passion UA is stepping away from the dota 2 scene and so it disbanded its roster.

I think it's quite common for Dota; unlike all other games, it still has these live tournaments practically all year round. And this kind of thing is what creates great players and teams; they continue training in these relatively smaller tournaments to develop strategies and stay active.

I think spirit have a big contract locking down donk, and no team other then falcons would even be able to buy him.

Magixx and zont1x should be able to improve spirit and go deeper in the playoffs, chopper was a big liability on the scoreboard and didnt often make up for it with his tactics

Well, I think only a rich project like Team Falcons may think of paying that kind of buyout plus the salary, that's why most people seem them as their destinations. Maybe the reason as they have huge funds as they are Saudi-based. Also Spirit have donk on the most expensive buyout, making other orgs finding it hard even thinking signing him.

Anyways, BLAST bounty will be the real test for the Spirit lineup, and they would be eyeing to give their 100% performance at the tier-1 level.

There is another team that have updated their roster on the very Christmas day for dota 2. And that's the Yakult Brothers. Zeal and emo is out of the team while SRF and moon replaced them. At the same time, they've released the team 2 of this organization, the Yakult.Tearlaments. I don't know if this is allowed again by Valve if ever these two teams qualify for a Valve sponsored event. But if not, that means it's fine. The team's roster is on their page and I am not familiar with some of them.

MooN coming back as well is a surprise, or at least it's been a while since I heard his name come up again from the competitive scene.

On top of that, there's a new Chinese team on the block named Refuser that consists of Paparazzi, poyoyo, Zeal, Dy, and Pyw. They could be the next second-best team in China now that Tidebound is out, and some of their players have moved to VG.
