I've figured that out when I watched a video that came from someone who lives there. I love to watch videos about their culture and almost everything about them. That's for real when before Olympics was about to happen and I think their government was already aware of the possible surge in cases and it really did but they're reminding their citizens to still take care of themselves despite they've encouraged many of their citizens to travel. It's only for their citizens no foreign tourists are allowed. I don't know if they are still pushing that these days.

Japan is not a communist or dictator types of government but they're raise really have a good respect to the government.

I also love watching videos about their culture and even how they workout in times like this, even Covid is also hitting them but they
manage to work well and lessen the numbers of dying citizens.
Thanks to them for bringing the olympics even there's no real audiences but still they managed to finished it. Till then..

Congratulation to the USA as general champion and Japan as an organizer who has created a successful event around the Pandemic. I also thank you for Japan has shown me a beautiful city and neatness when seen it all in the last marathon event. this big capital will be returning back when tourism back to your country, this means Olympic not showing the event sport but will calling back people to come to your country.

The victory achieved at the last second, the last gold medals made the USA return as the first, congratulations also to all athletes who have struggled to get medals successfully or not all of their struggles are worthy of appreciation and also like you said for Japan who succeeded control everything well.
And it looks like this thread can be locked because the next Olympics are still waiting for 3 years so it's still quite a long time.

Really amazing to see an Olympics being held at a time of pandemic and with as much control as what we saw in Japan.
The control I say goes from the competition venues that followed strict protocols without harming the games, as well as the streets that remained empty and uncrowded.
I could cite many other countries where this would not work, either because governments would not have the capacity to organize and also because the local population would not collaborate.
But everything went well (or almost) and the event was very beautiful.
For the 2024 Olympics Paris promises the most ecological Olympics in history, a topic that is currently on the rise, including in cryptos. We will see...

The cost is just huge. For example, the Russian government claims that it spent around $50 billion for the winter Olympics at Sochi (the opposition claims that most of it was stolen by Putin's proxies). And this time, the Japanese government estimated the cost of hosting the games at $15.4 billion. Not many countries can afford this much expense. And gone are the days when the population would blindly support such huge spending, just because of national pride. People still support sports, but at a lower level compared to the case two decades back.

Inflation is not an issue in Japan, because unlike the other countries the government doesn't indulge in the printing of unlimited amounts of banknotes. Also, they restrict immigration only to high-skilled labor (opposite to the cases in western nations). And this helps to reduce the government expenses. But I don't think that it will be a good idea for the government to ask their citizens to roam around, given the precarious COVID situation in the country. The age structure of the Japanese population also makes them more vulnerable to COVID.

There is a famous ad, I wish I could find it,,, about some small ice-cream on the stick that has been sold in Japan for 30-40-50 years or something like this. They had to increase the price by a few yen after all those years and you know? They had to make a TV ad for it to have the CEO and all the board bow down and ask for forgiveness.

I disagree inflaton is not an issue, but it does seem like they really really hate to inflate prices.

That's true. That's why France says it's going to bring the Olympic Games to the streets, claiming it's to be greener and involve the population. This can certainly be true. But I believe the main reason is not having to create so much infrastructure in order to reduce costs.

Of course, they are not that type of government. They just want to encourage their people so that their economy won't have any problems. Despite not having that many audiences, there is much coverage that has happened worldwide. It's just that the timing is no good due to covid restrictions. But it will still have a good result for their economy as they've made that much budget just to pursue Olympics this year because there was news in the past that it shall be postponed but they did push it.

The final medal standings for the Olympics 2020. As expected, united states managed to get most medals.

But they only managed to have one more gold medal than China.
I think it was the Olympic Games, where the US performed well below what was expected.


Although the total number of medals was similar to Rio2016, there were 7 fewer gold medals. While China another 12 gold medals.
I think the Paris 2024 Olympic Games will be super interesting and competitive.

Being in China, and the way they organize themselves, there is a good chance that there are already spectators. There may be restrictions on audiences coming from other countries.

As you know, in China, monstrous totalitarian measures are being taken when cases of coronavirus appear. I will look with interest at how this will be combined with the Olympiad and a huge number of foreign guests. You are right, for now what I do believe is that countries like China and Japan have raised their level in sport a lot, I also know that in the different disciplines that Asian countries had deficiencies they have taken into account to improve it, for example. In women's volleyball, for years they have looked for women who are tall and who are already training them in the sport, they have launched initiatives to train them in this regard, Asian countries are taking all the provisions to highlight the competitions of high level much more, this is good, so the competition increases its level enormously worldwide, the hegemony of the USA and the European countries is lagging behind.

Then what was the reason for the poor performance of the western nations this time? And Japan won 27 gold medals this time, when compared to 12 won in 2016. That obviously means that they had some host advantage. Another nation that performed exceptionally well this time is Australia. They won 8 gold medals last time, and this time they improved that tally to 17. Without any exception, it is the Asian teams which have improved their tally from the 2016 edition. The COVID 19 situation might have also played its part.

This was an alleged problem, created by social networks and taken advantage of by the media. In fact, I didn't hear any of the athletes who were with him at the time, complaining.

Yes. No audience is fine as long as they can complete the Olympics. Besides, people got used to just watch on their own televisions with live streaming.
I got used to it.   I think that's not an issue for anyone anymore. That's why they say this is the new normal.  
Then, there are country flight restrictions, and Japan just trying to secure their own countrymen to avoid spreading the virus.

In the end, they did it. Sportsmanship is still alive and world peace.

What do they exactly mean about bringing the games to the streets? Do they mean to held the games in different places so they can make sure that everyone is going to see it? That would be pretty awesome if they do that because besides the saving from the cost, it makes the game much more immersive and close to the heart of the audience.
