I think it is a good advantage and you see them returning to defend anytime they lose the ball. It is a statement that they have made in the world cup against any opponent.

This reminds me of the advantages of globalization. I think the benefit is now coming down with the upset that we have seen in this tournament and to say but few, just the first round. Perhaps we could see more as the game proceed. The benefit of missing up in the term globalization that footballers leave their country to play high class football else where is showing and it now drives home the fact that national team is different from club football. A club can decide to buy any footballer they so desire and cluster all world class players in one team but the case is not like that in national team.

I think more than 4 odds on Ghana is a lot, considering the fact that Uruguay has not scored in this championship, but Ghana looked very good. Even with the Portuguese, they fought to the end and were not afraid to play open and attacking soccer.

The goal scored by Ritsu in the 48th minute of the second half was really cool. but Japan's second goal should not have been legal, because it had purely crossed the line. however, the referee still endorsed the goal. although the VAR, has provided an explanation of the controversy after this match. this controversy is of course very detrimental, I am not sure about this decision.

In the second half of the match, we saw that the Japanese defense line was so tightly packed that the Spanish players struggled and did not find any gaps to score goals. One Japan goal was very controversial for me, even though there are rules about the decision but I think it was clear it was an out ball. Even though the result can no longer be changed, I still can't accept the referee's decision because if this match ends in a draw then Germany will be the runner-up because of the goal advantage. Difficult to accept because this is a big tournament which of course must have a fair decision, even though there is already a VAR system but this decision is still a controversial decision.

Germany was not in form this fifa they didn't perform well to qualify for the next round.  The teams who performed well and won their matches made their way to the next round . Yes... It was such an incredible surprise for Spain to take second place in the group and get Morocco instead of Croatia as rivals (and get rid of Germany at the same time)  
It's hard to make accusations (since Spain risked to take third place in the group if Germany lost), but in fact the whole beautiful story looks dirty.

Domination in football doesn't mean as much as it used to.
What is much more important is the plan and organization of the game and the final result.
Japan beat both Germany and Spain in the group, so I think that in their case it makes no sense to talk about luck, but about the quality of their game.
I don't understand why anyone is sad about Spain? With this result, they achieved exactly what they wanted, they avoided Croatia in the round of 16 and Brazil in the quarter-finals, and now they have a much easier path to the semi-finals.

When so many strong teams are out after the group stage, there is nothing good in it. And such moments with an out just spoil the whole impression and reduce the level of the tournament. Although Germany is in bad shape and a Japanese victory was acceptable, a victory over Spain is very doubtful. I think there will be no end to discussing it because the match is over and Japan has successfully conquered Spain to qualify for the knockout round, I know that match sucks making me lose the bet for Spain, but I think I have to admit that Japan has won that match and betting on the other matches in the knockout stage later  

What I don't understand is why didn't they show VAR on the TV? When Croatia was denied a penalty, they showed on TV a computer image why an offside was called and here we couldn't see if the ball has crossed the line. However, I think that Japan really deserved a win. In the second half they were playing great first at attacking Spain's goal and later at defending their goal. It was really a great game to watch.
