I am impressed by Chelsea tonight.Before scoring their first goal when I saw the stats at 21 minute of the first half I saw Dortmund ball possession of 78% and I thought boy maybe Chelsea is going to be beaten really heavy tonight.When I checked the result then in the end of the first half I saw 1-0 for Chelsea and said yeah just lucky,Dortmund will definitely come back as they are coming from a great form of 11 consecutive victories but no they could not score a single goal and Chelsea got and score one more with a penalty to close the game.Dortmund I think is focused more on trying to win the Bundesliga.

Dortmund may not have come well prepared for a win today, or they may have been focused on winning the league title, which is why they performed poorly today. As for Chelsea, I never doubt that they will advance to the next round because they have a better record in the Champions League than Dortmund. The possession shocked me before the end of the first half, but I was still optimistic about Chelsea qualifying on this night. Congratulations to Chelsea and hard luck to Dortmund.

I guess Graham Potter will stay a little longer after tonight's performance, but we all know he is not completely secure in the long run

Maybe he is finally getting the team together and understanding the players better or maybe they are just luckier in the champions league than they have been in the premier league. Until the end of the game, I was not convinced that Chelsea were going to finish off well. They had many opportunities that they would have been able to score more than just two goals, luckily for them they did not concede plenty goals when they played away to Dortmund in the first leg. This victory gives Graham Potter some fresh air from the series of losses he has recorded as a coach with Chelsea, and more time for Chelsea team to be stronger before the competition becomes more serious with the last eight teams.

To be fair Chelsea deserved to advance to the next round. Both games taken together Chelsea was the better team, but the circumstances under which they today scored their second goal were a bit weird. I learned a lot about the referee rules as I didn't even now some of the stuff that had to be applied today when the penalty was given.

On stream they said that this game is make or break game for Graham Potter. They are perhaps right when he now also wins a couple of games in the Premier League, but when they keep losing and also get kicked out in the next round of the Champions League, I still think he has not yet reached the dry land.

Todd Boehly was also at Stamford Bridge today and watched the game. He is probably pleased and will give Potter some room to breathe and prepare for the next games. If Chelsea can make it to the semi finals, they could even save the season partially although not starting in the Champions League next year is actually quite the nightmare for Chelsea.

Benfica showed a great performance and shouldn't be underestimated as well. Brugge is not the kind of opponent that should get them into trouble, but still winning 7-1 in both legs is strong.

Chelsea will take what? They will take nothing in my opinion. EPL is a dream, they aren't in the FA Cup and already lost EFL Cup, Champions League is their only hope and I believe they will kicked from the race soon. I already expected Benfica to have an easy game and they did. They had lost 2-0 away and I thought they wouldn't give much weight to this match, but this time they scored 5 goals and intimidated their opponents.
In the Chelsea-Dortmund match, I expected Chelsea to win and even though it was difficult, Chelsea managed to win and even won the round. They should be congratulated. While they were doing so badly in the league, it is pleasing for them to beat a team like Dortmund in the Champions League which is in form and not easily defeated.

Football is all about strategy; if you can figure out your opponent's tendencies, you can actually win the match. I believe Chelsea did this today; they didn't play to possess the ball; instead, they ran around and produced effective attacks, which I found to be very effective. And that is what many average people occasionally use to defeat powerful teams and people will be say it was luck, luck don't just occur like that in football but team have to come work hard for the lucky to occur. Even though I'm not a Chelsea fan, the team makes my day because my prediction came true.

FInally potter can't even deny that the best strategy that should be used by chelsea must be 3-4-3. 4-3-2-1 was not working anymore. Potter must not use it again. This is a very good result by chelsea being able to win against dortmund with cleansheet. Chelsea will not win if it was playing with 1-0 as the result. That is Chelsea advance to Quarter finals after an excellent game by the team. They did very well and should have had many more than this 2 goals. Dortmund were just not creating any clear cut chances and that cause them this game. Brandt injury definitely had his toll on this team. They also made life difficult for themselves by playing high line football which Sterling broke free from couple of times. I don’t get it why the coach didn’t introduce Anthony Modeste when it was clear that his team weren’t winning any aerial battles at the Chelsea’s box.

I felt exactly the same before the match started and i was surprised that apparently Borussia Dortmund was the favorite for most people to advance into the next round. As you already said, FC Chelsea was the better team in the first leg already, but they were just really unlucky and also inefficient with their chances. Today it started kind of similar with Havertz only hitting the inside of the post in the first half. I think that overall FC Chelsea was the better team if you look at both legs and therefore they have definitely deserved to go through.
That the penalty was repeated was still totally weird to me because it was the player of Chelsea who went into the box first, but anyway.

It sounds non sense for me. Any team will be trying to win even more than only one trophy. That being said that dortmund has been giving what already owned. Chelsea deserves it.

Dorrtmund was just lucky enough in the first match. Chelsea was making some good chances in the first leg. I think that if dortmund's player shall stop being salty.

I think Chelsea along with majority of the premier league clubs are more focused on the champions league, because their chances in the premiership league has almost been sealed with 3 games left to decide.
I believe Dortmund has good spot in their league, hence why they were not really overwhelmed by the game. The return leg at the Bridge is going to be one hell of an encounter, and Graham Potter gotta be ready.

what an epic comeback for chelsea, they successfully beat dortmund with a score of 2-0 after being left behind 1-0 on aggregate, havertz and sterling are chelsea's heroes in this match.
apart from that the match between benfica vs club brugge went smoothly for benfica, they managed to win 5-1, even goncalo ramos successfully scored 2 goals for benfica.
the next matches are bayern vs PSG and tottenham vs milan. I'm really curious whether PSG will be able to turn things around in this match and advance to the next round.

The first goal from Benfica changed everything for Club Bruges. They had more of a chance at any possibility in the game until that first goal and it felt, all hell broke loose. They just couldn't defend there post well enough and there goalkeeper couldn't make an attempt on any of the Benfica goals. Just howany touches do you let a player have in your keepers box before the defence clears it out? That was se of there many mistakes. Allowing players to run behind them and find there aim at the post. The Benfica team was just so coordinated all through the game.

Sincerely, I don't know I'd o would say it was luck or intentional to ha e taken that shot the way he did. The technique was on like nothing I've seen and he took it perfectly, was precise and found the top far corner of the net. The best consolation goal they could get from this season's UCL.

it was a good call,  an encroaching player cleared the ball, a player is not allowed to encroach the 18 yard box before a kick. wouldn't have counted as goal either if it was scored by an encroached player after that woodwork. the best team won.

Honestly this is a shocker for me, is this because of their fans or Potter finally understands his team and has got back to winning ways... People who watched the first leg did know that chelsea was having a better performance compared with dortmund. The penalty by havertz has been saving chelsea from losing against dortmund. Real madrid will be actually winning against liverpool although there was a chance for liverpool to make some miracles in santiago bernabeu but liverpool's chance is quite small.

I can't be patience to see what's gonna be the next opponent that will be facing by chelsea. As far as i know that if chelsea was always facing madrid. It seems like the same thing gonna repeat again this year. Chelsea was losing against madrid last year with a small agregat.
