I can agree with that. Brazil is another example for this. They also prefer Brazilian coaches. No matter from what nationality they choose their coaches the most important thing to bring success to the team. Italy haven't been able to meet the expectations until this point. That elimination in the World Cup qualifiers was really dramatic as well.

These sort of upsets can be expected. Italy is still in the rebuilding phase. They are no longer the team that we know from the 1990s and early 2000s.
