These stories are both messed up and completely lack justice (I would say). In the first story, the girlfriend deserves ALL the winnings not just 40 mill due to the fact it was her stolen money. In the second story the boss deserves absolutely nothing or everything depending on who's money was used to bet. I am reading on the twitter thread a lot of people saying it was the bosses money. So that makes it a bit confusing.

I am completely leaving out cultural and social issues of different countries out of my equation because every country has a different view on whats right and wrong.

Any amount that his girlfriend says would be a reasonable amount to give since it's her money and he stole it so I feel like the guy doesn't have a favorable situation here even though he managed to multiply her money by a lot.

For the other story, i'd abandon the training or look for other ways to replace your boss since it's not worth the effort when you have that kind of boss who would suddenly decide to have a share in your winnings.

Probably, that would be the best thing to do. Never argue with your girlfriend since it’s her money after all. If she will agree with 50/50, I guess that’s good enough. Because what you have contributed is just luck, the capital is still from your girlfriend which you stole.

For the second story, if you can afford to find another training, then go for it as it’s useless to stay in a training with an undisciplined and irresponsible boss. But if you find it hard to find one, then stay with your boss but never agree with him with splitting into two your money, just give him even 1/4 of it.

I will be the one to decide not the boss, he did not lend the money and he did not give me any tips on the bet I will give him a tip but not split half of my winning that's too much if he asks for a split even if he is respected in his field.

But the man at least gives her 20 million dollars, ideally 10 - 40 million dollars isn't too much considering all the money used for betting is her girlfriend's money. I was actually thinking is only me that sees same thing you are saying, there is no way him should share his money with boss or even with the girlfriend because if the guy didn't tell anyone I wonder who would say lets share or you must make it 50/50 as how?
So the apprentice decides whom to give or not, but as for the girlfriend he may compensate he with good money but not to share equally among themselves. Could it be a mere story you say?

Right. If it weren't for her money, he wouldn't be able to win that amount. He should at least give a considerable amount to his partner as a token of appreciation and to show gratitude. It shouldn't necessarily be 40 million, but an amount he is willing to give wholeheartedly to show he is thankful because stealing isn't right as well no matter how you put it. Asking for forgiveness and thanking for the money you "borrowed" without her knowing shouldn't be a hard thing to do if your relationship has been founded on a strong ground.

- there should be no need to tell her winnings to convince her boyfriend that the money will be returned in full, obviously his girlfriend will sue because his winnings came from the money he stole, maybe this is karma behind his winnings so there are demands that make him a dilemma
If the woman is believed to be a life partner, there is no problem granting her demands because no one is harmed, especially for the sake of the baby.

Yes, the major problems here could have been created. What would have happened if the man could not won the bet? Will he tell his girl friend about the stealing money? may be not. There may be debate about it. However, it is not worthy of taking money to gambling by stealing others money. It can break the good relation with in few seconds.

I think there's much to learn from OP two live story been used as an example, this is the real thing that happened and we are very fortunate to take a good cognisance of learning through it, because it's what me and you can fall a victim, not until we pass through such situations we cannot defend the level of how far we could go in relation to the two exampls made, but it's bad enough not to learn how to appreciate other fellow not to talk of giving them money, that kind of gambler that has stealing habit is detestable, his girlfriend should avoid further relationship with him, while the second story as well should look into the boss properly, he is such that is selfish and covectious, we must just believe this that live itself isn't balanced and we must be careful of the kind of people sorrounding us.

Taking money without telling is part of theft that can be your girlfriend or whatever. She deserves this bet money. Basically the girlfriend should take responsibility for distributing the winnings, she belongs to it. But reality shows a different picture. The girlfriend can claim she has the right. But in the 2nd story the boss has no right to ask for money.

for the first question:
if i were that guy i would still give $40 million to his girlfriend. because first the man had wrongly stole his girlfriend's money for gambling and the man could win $100 million because of the help of his girlfriend's money even though it was stealing but without the stolen money the man would not win at gambling and take home $100 million. let's just say that $40 million is an apology gift for stealing his money to gamble


for the second question:
i would prefer to leave the training and find another training. having 16 million naira is a lot of money and could find better training.
the first reason is that the student is betting using his personal money instead of his boss's money and as a boss it is inappropriate to ask to share the gambling winnings it is very stupid to look presumptuous. unless the student distributes money in class to the boss without the boss asking that's better

On this scenario, the girlfriend has every right to demand for any percentage of the winning as the money used to gamble is hers. Also, if worst comes to worst, the girlfriend will be given almost or if not the whole winnings since the funds used was stolen and there was no confirmation between them about the bet made.

If in any case the funds used for the bet was from his salary, I don't think that the boss neither the company as well as his colleagues has any right about the winnings.

You cant really believe that there are really people who would really just let these things to happen? Specially if we do talk about big amounts? Its impossible for someone to have those decisions.

I think the girl is being so greedy and selfish in this case. The man to me is a honest and gentle man because from the first story, it doesn't seem to me like the man stole the money from the girl because the money was in his house and she forgot it while going to make her hair and then he used it for a greater purpose for them both while hoping for a positive result of winning.
Firstly he didn't hide the winning from the girl, which some greedy and ungrateful men would have done and maybe for the period just get to refund the ten thousand back to her, but he told her of the winning and even the exact amount, Ghosh that is rare and even offered to pay her 5 million, this is the height of greed from the girl as the guy also told her what he Intendee doing with the money.

I really don't know why the marketers supported the boss in the second story because the Nigeria I know wouldn't let the boy even give his boss upto a million. I think the sharing formula was wrong.

How the hell can this employee be a person who doesn't think? with that amount of money he didn't even need this job anymore, he could create his own business, how old is this employee? Just reading this story makes me angry, I can't even imagine if I saw this employee, I would tell him that luck like the one he had doesn't appear twice and that he needs to take all his money to save and open a business

if he goes to court he can make the boss return all the money and if the boss doesn't have the amount the court can pledge the company in favor of the employee, but it seems to me that the employee is very dumb
