Is the US team actually prepared to win their tournament?

Historically, the home team always has an advantage. Could they use this opportunity?

I think they currently don't have players of the caliber of Landon Donovan, or Clint Dempsey. Those were probably some of the best players in the best era of US football.

But maybe I'm missing on some young talent, anyone knows some of them?

Talking about the US having an advantage in tournaments? Does such things still exists these present days? Because I'm confused, everything is judged concerning how better one can perform and how terrible they can be if they don't stand firm regarding their form this season. The United States of America is a popular country and currently World Power but they do not stand a chance in competing against European countries that have everything a team ought to possess. I can mention few good players in US, they're Christian Pulisic, Folarin Balogun, Malik Tillman and finally we have Weston McKennie that are exceptionally brilliant. Amercia have good squad that are balance and able to fight in elite tournaments.

For this matter, I think it's still too early to talk about whether they will be able to compete or not. Because they benefit as the host who has already confirmed 1 ticket to play in the World Cup. Unlike the other countries that have to follow the qualifications, and in the qualifications we can see the extent of the strength of each country, because they are required to play all out in each match, to be able to ensure they will be in the 2026 World Cup.
The preparation is very mature maybe that's what they do certainly to prove that they can also compete later.

I think two European countries can reach the semi-finals in this tournament. The World Cup in Europe is very different from the World Cup outside Europe. For example, in the 2006 World Cup hosted by Germany and the 2018 World Cup hosted by Russia, the semi-finalists were all Europeans. In contrast, in the 2002 World Cup played in South Korea and Japan, South Korea played in the semi-finals and Brazil became champions. At the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, Uruguay played in the semi-finals. In the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, Brazil played in the semi-finals and Argentina played directly in the final. In the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, Morocco played in the semi-finals and Argentina became champions.

European countries have hosted the World Cup eleven times. Except for the 1958 World Cup, Europeans have been champions in all of them. Similarly, until the 2010 World Cup, no European country had won a World Cup played outside Europe. Since then, Germany has been champion in the 2014 World Cup.
It's hard for me to predict the World Cup in America, but I expect big surprises in this tournament in North America.

Well.. I agree that they are not as strong as France or Argentina. But they are currently ranked as the top team from CONCACAF Confederation. Also, let's not forget the fact that 84 out of a total of 104 matches in the FIFA World Cup of 2026 will be held in the United States. So obviously they will be having the home advantage as well. Well.. we are talking about 2026, so there is a good chance that they will slip down the rankings by then. But even then, opponents (especially those from the UEFA region) needs to be cautious about them.

Both Argentina and Brazil have two very important games in their CONCACAF qualification. But I was puzzled when I saw that this is not just round robin in the qualification, but home and away match for all teams, which is quite hefty as that sums up to 18 qualifier games per team. That is quite a lot.

I wonder if the final rankings of the CONCACAF teams in the table also have an impact on the group drawings later on? There should be some difference between the first and sixth rank I guess. Argentina still looking strong and with a win they would really be rushing away from the rest there.

I do agree that USA will not have a chance to win, I get that they may want to, but that doesn't change the fact that they won't be able to. They did not, you just saw something on TV and that's why you think Qatar hosting was perfect because of the quality of the stadiums or because of what you saw on the TV but the fact about Qatar is they spend lots of money while they didn't need to and Qatar killed many workers just because of building the shiny stadiums you can see in this country which is not good for any country.

I don't think with 16 round regarding have 48 teams participants will make new rule.

If there have 16 round automatically will be difficult because need to get 1st standings place automatically to 16 round, seems small chance with four teams of the best placed 2nd standings regarding have 12 group. No disrespect but Indonesia is not a football country that much should be expected of them in the WC qualifier, in my opinion they played their best against Iraq which was a better side than them. Indonesia next game is against the Philippines who lost their home match 0:2 in favour of Vietnam on Thursday. If the Indonesian team can give a brilliant fight as a home team playing against the Vietnam in their next game there's a chance that they will put some smiles on the faves of their faces by winning the game. Supposing Indonesia doesn't win it's gonna end in a draw, that's my prediction.
