I know that everybody still doesn't fear that Brazil could get into trouble in this qualification, but when you look at what they have achieved so far in the group, we are talking about a win rate of 40% with 2 wins, 1 draw and 2 losses. This game against Argentina will obviously be very hard for them and Argentina doesn't want to lose it either and instead reclaim their supremacy in South America. A win against Brazil would underscore that. But then Brazil would have 3 losses already and could drop further in the table.

I don’t remember exactly, but throughout history, one of this pair failed to qualify for the World Cup final once (I think Argentina, but I could be wrong). There is always a ticket for these two teams because the level of the other opponents is low and even if someone has a strong team (like sometimes Uruguay/Paraguay) there will still be enough tickets for everyone. But the game has another equally important background - it is important for Brazil to show that South America still “belongs” to them despite the achievements of Argentina in recent years.

I know and I am certainly one of those guys who thinks that it is impossible for Brazil or Argentina to not qualify. Well... I was joking when I posted that Brazil may miss qualification for the FIFA World Cup of 2026. But even if they qualify as the 3rd or 4th ranked team, it is going to be a big humiliation for them. Brazil used to be the no.1 ranked team for so many decades. Their recent decline was quite unexpected. And even more insulting for them is the fact that their traditional rivals (Argentina) has now become the no.1 team replacing them. Brazil used to be a well balanced team, not overdependent on any one player. But that has also changed, with a lot of burden now falling on Neymar.

That would be a shocking thing to see. Brazil is the only country in the world that has managed to qualify to every single edition of the world cup.

That is an incredible achievement, and I don't think they have any chances of not qualifying for the next one.

The last few years Brazil has shown a decline, but if we look into the composition of the actual players they are inhabited by many very qualified players, but when they play for Brazil it seems they lose their identity and do not play optimally. But there are really still many games ahead - 12 and Brazil has a huge number of opportunities to both improve its position and simply maintain its 6th place, which gives a direct ticket to the World Cup.

I feel like that's the trouble with the world cup, we are only getting to see a few nations and that's why I support growing the number of teams that will join, yes mostly it will be other European countries that get the benefit and I am fine with that too, but American or Asian countries that will be a bit different could be fun. Not only the Brazilian players committed fouls but also the Argentinian players. The foul for which the red card was awarded was not red card worthy as we later found out on review. It is difficult for any team to perform on the field after a situation where Argentine supporters argued with security personnel and at one point it escalated to baton charges. The match between Brazil and Argentina is considered as a Super Clasico match, but I have not seen anything like a Super Clasico in the Brazil-Argentina match, but there have been more fights.

Brazil didn't have many players in the starting XI, you can't look at it as an excuse, it's a reality and you have to accept it.

Many of the newly inducted players are facing difficulty in adjusting to the team structure and tactics. However, this should go away as they get more used to the national team composition. The good news is that next round of CONMEBOL qualifiers are scheduled for September 2024. So they have almost a year to regroup and work on eliminating all the weaknesses.

Where the players perform well at the club level, the stars do not perform very well for their country. Brazil is basically a good team as we all know but, nowadays, they are showing so bad games in front of the audience which is really sad. But of course it is true that if Neymar was in the team maybe the position of Brazil would not be so bad but because of his injury Brazil team is currently in the worst position in the points table. Today's match between Argentina and Brazil was one of the most exciting we've ever seen, with fans brawling in the galleries on the field. Argentina beat Brazil in this exciting match, it is not good for Brazil, they are currently in a very bad position.

After that things went rapidly downhill for them. During the third match, they conceded a 1-1 draw against one of the weakest teams in CONMEBOL (Venezuela). They were leading with a margin of 1-0 till the 85th minute, before Eduard Bello made it 1-1 to give Venezuela a precious point against Brazil. Horrorfest followed, with loses against Uruguay (0-2), Colombia (1-2) and Argentina (0-1).

Seeing Indonesia only draw with the Philippines in the second match of Group F is certainly not a pleasant thing and this result makes Indonesia's chances of qualifying even smaller because it has not succeeded in improving its ranking in that group, which is still at the bottom.
In fact, there are still four matches and anything could still happen, but seeing as they could only draw against the Philippines, the next match will be against Vietnam and Iraq, which will be a more difficult match.
The Indonesian coach must be able to find a way to bring his squad to perform better because even though it failed to qualify, there is another tournament that is no less important that must be played, namely the Asian Cup.

I was also just seeing how the standings are for South America at World Cup qualifiers and it is truly horrendous to see Brazil in 7th place with very less chances to make it to this World Cup,I don't know how it would look a World Cup without Brazil,I guess this is the first one or we have a very very long time that we don't witness such thing.

I wish Brazil recovers but seeing their way of play in most of these games so far this looks more like wishful thinking rather than them having a real chance to make it back to this tournament.

I don’t remember exactly, but throughout history, one of this pair failed to qualify for the World Cup final once (I think Argentina, but I could be wrong). There is always a ticket for these two teams because the level of the other opponents is low and even if someone has a strong team (like sometimes Uruguay/Paraguay) there will still be enough tickets for everyone. But the game has another equally important background - it is important for Brazil to show that South America still “belongs” to them despite the achievements of Argentina in recent years.

I know and I am certainly one of those guys who thinks that it is impossible for Brazil or Argentina to not qualify. Now there is no need to talk about Argentina as they are fine with their 15 points, but this situation could be out of control for Brazil very soon. Everyone thinks it is no issue because there are so many more games to go, but out of a sudden Brazil plays against Chile or Bolivia and what was supposed to be an easy game for them with a couple of beautiful goals in now a game that feels like a game in the knockout rounds. They shouldn't take this lightly anymore, it's getting complicated now.

Well, if we assume that Brazil cannot beat Chile and Bolivia, then they probably do not deserve a place in the final part of the World Cup and there is no tragedy here. But there are really still many games ahead - 12 and Brazil has a huge number of opportunities to both improve its position and simply maintain its 6th place, which gives a direct ticket to the World Cup.
In general, this is a rather funny competition: 10 participants, 6 of whom receive a direct ticket and another one gets into the play-offs, that is, out of 10 participants, 7 teams can get to the World Cup at once. Incredibly difficult tournament!  

I know, I know... It is not that I really believe Brazil could miss this qualification, but you are certainly right with what you said. If they fail, or any team that fails, does not deserve to participate in the World Cup regardless of their name and history as a football nation. And there are so many games to go, which I believe still calms down the Brazilian team and they think nothing bad happened thus far.

But this is where I start developing this tiny doubt about them. If they still think this is not a dangerous situation for them, it could backfire. It is all still good and 12 games to go. But when they now lose two or three more games against opponents from below them in the table, this could really become a tough qualification for them. At first you lose a game because you play bad, but then, you know, the games go against you for unexpected reasons. Brazil dominates, but then there is this red card and the penalty. 20:1 shots but that one shot of the opponent hit the upper right angle of the goal... You know what I mean
