The main question for this coming world cup is. Who si gonna be the new star? Haaland is gonna take part and start to breaking records? Remember he can score a lot of goals if the group is easy, we are gonna have very weaks teams in this one with the new format.

Good point and there are some players I'm waiting to see them in the next World Cup in 2026. Because so fat they had an amazing performance in these teams. For example, Jude Bellingham's performance in Real Madrid was awesome so far but I'm working if he can have the same performance in the 2026 World Cup or not.

Definitely Jude's performance will not be bad if he has a good team alongside to complement his efforts, sometimes it's mainly team work with some small extra efforts that gets a player to become a start player. There are other players who were doing so well with a particular team but later turn out with poor performance when they happen to be in another team.

The environment real Madrid has created for him is such that promotes his skill and has earned him all the compliments and recognition lately, if his country could as well provide him with such environment alongside good team mates. Felix in Barcelona is another young talent I'm hoping to see perform at the world cup, he has show a different level of performance at the club side so I'm hoping to see him do same with his national team, and if he does he could most likely get more recognition which will increase his value and worth at the club.

I guess there is still a small question mark when it comes to Bellingham performing the same way for England as he is doing for Real Madrid. He is doing superb at the moment, but sometimes I wonder how much of all the scorer points was a bit of luck and how much of it he can maintain long-term. There were several games that could as well have ended without him scoring a goal, but so far he is riding a serious wave. It is by now definitely more than just a lucky start. That is when a player scores a few goals in the first 2 or 3 games, but this has become the norm for him now. And there are still almost 3 years to go until the World Cup, which means there is even more time for him to improve and he is just beginning.

And this maybe one of the primary reasons why football is the no.1 sport around the globe. The situation maybe different in rich nations such as the United States.

You only need a ball, and 22 people can play sports together. No need for goalposts, football boots, or even a grass field. You only need a ball and a field with sufficient area and width. Messi would be 39 by the next world cup and he is yet to make an official statement as regards if he will be playing in the world cup or not but then people are still speculating his appearance in the next world cup and hoping that will be his point not retirement, but then I think Messi would really want to participate because he may be too old at that time to participate in the world cup games but then if we see him participate then that's fine but if not it's not a problem too.

I think Messi will still participate in the 2026 World Cup but he will not be Argentina's key player at that time. I think Messi will have a very big influence on Argentina's young players. I think the existence of Messi, who is considered equal to another Argentinian football god, namely Maradona, will really increase the confidence of Argentine players and will increase their winning mentality. Messi's performance may decline physically, but mentally Messi is the best for Argentina in the 2026 World Cup.

If you put age into consideration, by 2026 I don't think his form will still be that perfect enough, to be able to play productively in the world cup, he will be 39 or 40 by 2026, a 40 year old man on the pitch can never be compared with the young minds and players who will be at the world cup the, he might be good enough but will definitely not be able to perform optimally, definitely not complete 90mins.

He can be substituted but I doubt if he will be able to play 90mins but then he will be better if he is in the Coaching crew assisting them with some good ideas and tactics, he will be better with technical advises to the team of coach for his national team than he would be on the pitch, his experience will be a very useful contribution to them if he should be advising them.

Although if he happens to play it will really be a boost to his team mate and probably help their confidence but then I don't think he should as he definitely not going to perform like he did when he was much younger.

I was researching the oldest players to compete in a World Cup, and curiously these titles belong to goalkeepers. So... seeing a striker playing in a World Cup at the age of 40 is really something "out of the ordinary".

For those who are curious, historically these are the oldest players to play in a FIFA World Cup.

1. Essam El-Hadary – Age: 45 years old
The Egyptian goalkeeper last played for his national team on June 25, 2018. On that occasion, Egypt lost to Saudi Arabia 2-1, but El-Hadary saved a penalty in the match. two.

Yes, it could very well happen when we see his name on the coaching staff list for his country. Age does not lie, even though he is still able to play, his contrbution to the game will not be the same as when he was younger and that cannot be denied. And even at his age, it's amazing that he can still contribute to the club he's playing for.

The fact that he has moved out of European league tells that the retirement is very near. While these players clearly have improved the performance of the team the teams where they play are weak to average teams in the leagues where they take part and as you say it will be very difficult for Indonesia to qualify.I think the real thing to improve is to improve the local players,to make them play overseas and this so far looks like a gigantic task to achieve as I have seen a couple of games in the Indonesian league which for me needs a huge amount of improvement,without this happening you should not have those high hopes for qualifying.

Messi's performance has never been bad, from the beginning of his career till now he has been doing great but some years his national team performance has been bad but he has been doing great at the club level. A player doesn't retire only when he performs poorly, there are many other reasons behind his retirement. Messi has achieved the highest in his football career, there is nothing left to achieve now so he will probably stay with his highest achievement. 2022 world cup is going on we thought after this world cup we might lose some important players including messi neymar ronaldo karim benzema but they are still performing and ronaldo and neymar have a chance to play 2026 world cup but we don't see that chance for messi yet though compared to ronaldo and neymar Messi is in good form. Are you mainly referring to teams that are not as highly ranked in the FIFA rankings or do you think that teams like Argentina and France have no good chemistry either? I think you have got a point here for some teams, but there are still national teams who can play great football. England is playing well at the moment, but there have also been the good times for Spain when they played as if they have never done anything else but to play together every single day for years. I think this really shows great qualify of players when they don't need a lot of practice together but can still show a high level of chemistry among them. I don't think that all teams suck in regards to their chemistry.

Lately people here in Venezuela have felt quite enthusiastic with our team, after we managed to get a tie against Brazil and after getting a 3-0, defeating Chile this week.
Because of the more room this next World Cup will likely have for more teams, some friends of mine are already talking about the possibility of us getting to the next World Cup. How knows, we may have a chance to step a foot in the competition, but I would not get enthusiastic yet.

Our team is quite infamous among so many team in this region, for being specially underperforming.

What do you guys think, there will be a chance for us or this as just a strike of luck before getting back to the normal state of underperfomance?

I know we are still far away and any can happen, but i see yesterday game of Messi and man, he still play better than the young ones, so i can see him if nothing strange happen, being one of the best in the 2026 world cup. Only he needs to preserve himself from injuries.

Messi's performance has never been bad, from the beginning of his career till now he has been doing great but some years his national team performance has been bad but he has been doing great at the club level. A player doesn't retire only when he performs poorly, there are many other reasons behind his retirement. Messi has achieved the highest in his football career, there is nothing left to achieve now so he will probably stay with his highest achievement. 2022 world cup is going on we thought after this world cup we might lose some important players including messi neymar ronaldo karim benzema but they are still performing and ronaldo and neymar have a chance to play 2026 world cup but we don't see that chance for messi yet though compared to ronaldo and neymar Messi is in good form. Messi fans will definitely want Messi to participate in one more World Cup tournament and become the world champion once again.

Undoubtedly, Lionel Messi is one the greatest footballers to have ever graced the beautiful round leather game of football and still very active and effective when he's playing but I doubt if he'll be part of Argentina squad in the 2026 world cup that'll be hosted in three north American countries.
I initially thought he was gonna retire from international football after the 2022 World Cup tournament but which he decided not to but I think the football superstar is gonna quit international football before the 20126 World Cup finals
