I want to set up new prices for my rig and I get this "Invalid rental plan. Maximum rateplan variance exceeded." Huh

That's designed to stop you inputting an obviously incorrect number ie with a decimal place out (but not sure what percentage it uses)

Check that isn't what's happening. If that fails delete all your current prices and start again with your new ones.

I have a dumb question... I - finally - got myself a cell phone (at 24.9% off with bitcoin thanks to https://purse.io/?_r=XClu2O). I'd like to enable a notification whenever my rig is not responding on Leaserig, but can't figure out how to do this. Do I need to enable 2FA on Leaserig? I'd prefer not to be getting notified every time I get an email, just the rig-not-responding notifications.

Obvious ref link......

Knowing what's your phone would help.
You could get NotifyMyAndroid (for android), where you get an email and everything sent there will pop up as notification. On gmail you could then forward mails containing "rig down...." to your NMA address.

NMA works as push notifications, so no unnecessary data transfers are made and notifications arrive immediately Smiley
It's useful for a lot of things Smiley

Thanks, sounds like that will work. I have an Android tracfone so I'll look into this. (And yes, it's a referral link. Feel free to skip it if you want. I've saved 15% on three orders and 25% on two orders using Purse though, so I really do like what they are offering.)

Update: NotifymyAndroid seems to be abandoned; there's another app named Pushover but it costs $, and both require some sort of API programming with which I have no experience. Easiest solution would be to have Leaserig send a text message to a phone, that's why I wondered if the 2FA option in Leaserig was the key.

abandoned? I'm using it everyday for about 2 years, It was updated looong time ago, but it works.
I purchased premium back then for few $ and only issue so far was last year, when it wasn't working for a week because some "network issues".

Also, with GrowlForWindows (free) it can send you notification from windows with commandline Smiley like
Code:
growlnotify.exe /t:"notification title" "notification message :)"
and it looks like this

In my case, I get notification every time sgminer crashes and restarts Smiley (my .bat for launching sgminer)
Code:
:loop

sgminer.exe -c sgminer.conf
C:\Programy\Growl\growlnotify.exe /t:"Rig Fluffy" "restarted"
ping 127.0.0.1

goto loop

I'll have to try the Growl thing then (whoops, no that won't help in the event of a locked up system, which is my sole interest here.) I installed NotifymyAndroid and registered but it comes with no instructions, and the website (netchup.com) is gone. Lots of reviewers complaining it doesn't work or stopped working, though some (as of their review) say it was still working for them.

Update: Found the new website; API stuff looks way over my head. Last time I programmed was 25 years ago in FORTRAN, unless you want to count doing HTML pages in Notepad back in the mid-late 90's...

You don't have to do anything wit the API.

register on the site
create API key there on https://www.notifymyandroid.com/account.jsp
your email is then APIKEY@nmamail.net . find that in https://www.notifymyandroid.com/account.jsp under NMAmail (or use that email for whole account, but using APIkey is more cool-ish Smiley )
get android app and log in to your NMA account, configure as needed.

there is manual how to set up Growl with NMA on http://www.growlforwindows.com/gfw/forwarders/notifymyandroid

hutnik, thanks for all your help. Hopefully it will be an aid to others for this and other needs.

For any others interested, I think I found a simpler solution FWIW:

1. http://20somethingfinance.com/how-to-send-text-messages-sms-via-email-for-free/
This page outlines how to send email as a text message. In my case I have a tracfone but it runs on the Verizon system, so by trial and error I learned I have to use the Verizon address listed, not Tracfone.
2. https://support.google.com/mail/answer/10957?hl=en
For gmail users - this page shows how to auto-forward emails, with a link to how to create filters if you only want to forward some emails such as from Leaserig.

I can't do this til I get home, but it should be straightforward to create a filter for Leaserig notifications, then have Gmail autoforward them as texts to my phone, which will give me a notification alert.

I think it's set to 5X.

The issue as Tigggger pointed out was that there was decimal errors going into rentplans.  The variance check was put in so that when you are quickly making a bunch of rentplans one of them isn't .001 and the next .01 since it caused the providers some headache with refunds and even a 646 hour extension on a lease Cheesy

I think some of our scrypt providers missed math class?  I'm seeing 3-5X multi-pool earnings on some pricing plans.

So, if I set my price to MY multi-pool rate + 20% I get rented 24x7 and increase my profits by 20%!

When these guys set prices to 200-400% of their multi-pool profits they get rented once in a while and end up losing money or making maybe 10% more than they would just mining.

It just seems counter intuitive to price yourself out of profits?

Is the issue with Eligius and LRP fixed yet.  Just tried with my ants and it would appear it is not. This sums it up:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=544732.msg6713115#msg6713115  post #902

I believe the issue OF LRP is being addressed and is entering alpha testing.

Hopefully sooner rather than later.  I would LOVE to get my ants back leasable again!

We are entering BETA this weekend!

How about that new lease proxy then? Looks like v0.06a is still the newest one.  Does it work with Eligius yet?
