I don't know if it's just me or there are others who lose interest in any tournament once the team they are supporting gets knocked out. I have to commend the African countries that participated and especially the super falcons. They made the Lionesses look so small and I got to discover something about the England squad; they're good alright, but not upto the standards of the super falcons. I mean, their deficiency was made glaringly clear by them( Nigeria).

It's so unfortunate that all the African countries have been eliminated. Of all of them that participated, Nigeria had the closest opportunity to qualify if not for the penalty missed by Desire Okparanozie.

I don't know, did anyone really think that the Morocco national team would beat Portugal at the World Cup in Qatar? I think at a certain stage in the tournament the weaker teams can perform incredibly strong and yes they are the ones who need some luck, but I wouldn't say that surprising results are impossible. France also started with a 0-0 against Jamaica into the group stage, but then improved a lot of course. They had some issues to convert their dominance into chances and at the same time gave their opponents some easy goals like against Panama.

all 4 matches are worth watching, only the England x Colombia match looks more unbalanced, but I hope we see a surprise and Colombia can play at an equal level
There are good betting opportunities now, especially Japan (2.26) vs Sweden (3.20)

I'm not sure this is what people mean when they say that history is bound to repeat itself. Feels related to me. With Morocco's exit, it marks the end of the journey for African teams in the tournament. Despite the fact that all African teams are out, it delights to know that they did very well and came this far in the world cup. Netherlands, England and France were all teams of greater squad quality and depth.

I'm now rooting for France to win this world cup since their mem team fell short in December.

At the conclusion of the game, the best team wins, and France deserved it because they fought firmly and acquired the points they needed. Morocco's women were humbled by a score of 4 nil against France. They did their utmost to defend, but the club's expectations were not reached. I noticed France would win against Morocco from the outset, but I never imagined it would be by such vast proportions. France's women have qualified for the next round, which is a great accomplishment for the country. France is not going to back down, applying constant pressure to achieve outstanding outcomes.

The France women's team had almost as many attacks and succeeded in four of them. The Moroccan women's team had a very strong attack but France's defenders and goalkeepers were too strong for Morocco to score. However, France attacked enough from the start of the game that Morocco began to collapse as Morocco's defenders were relatively weak. Despite Morocco's best efforts, they were beaten 4-0 by a strong team, France.

Next France Women's Team and Australia Women's Team will face each other here Australia comes France is very strong as proved against Morocco. Because I see the players of the French women's team work a lot

The Nigeria women team needs more encouragement and support, they did their best for the country, no one ever gave them the chance to scale through the group stage, but they did and gave England women a tough fight in the knock out stage.

Everyone through that England wil outshined the super falcon but they found it hard, The falcon were just unlucky they missed so many chances for goals. They couldn't covert their chances.
Penalty is just a lucky game, any one can win it.its 50/50. And the Nigeria women was out of luck to scale through to the quarter finals. England women deafed them by 4/2 on shoot out.

Morroco is the only Africa team remaining in the composition now, I wish they win France women and get to the Quarter finals.

Well, one team has to win and the other team has to lose in the knockout stages. They were beaten on plenty's therefore no hard feelings for them except i would say bad luck.

Nigeria's team can take good memories from this world cup as they managed to play the round of 16 but could not qualify for the quarterfinals.

By the way, the Round of 16 has ended and now the Quarterfinals will be played this Friday and Saturday.

The Moroccans who lost to the french women also have good memories to take back to their country. On their first opportunity at the women's world cup, they were first able to at least score a goal and not get knocked out without scoring any goal, they won a game and also were part of the countries that represented Africa in the round of 16. It is a good record for them, it gives them something, a record to try to beat the next time they are in this competition.

The next quarter final stages will be tougher, Nigeria has shown other countries an idea of how to play these English women, Columbia will try to do it better than Nigeria did and score goals with the time of the game.

Honestly, I was more excited about England before the last game. I think the performance of the last game was much lower than expected, despite winning. And then with the player who was expelled, things may not turn out to be so easy for England.

Of your choices, I agree with all of them. Having only the doubt with England. But I don't see Colombia much better either.

I never thought the game was gonna extend to 120mins as many of us football fans were nursing the prediction of England starting to lead from the first half but the super falcons fought harder than expected Showing great tenacity, wonderful tactics and clinical tackles with their goalkeeper helping to save the game to extra time.

initially, before the game began. The England women's team believed that their game against the Super Falcons wouldn't stress them out and prevent them from winning. They were expecting the Super Falcons' ability to hold them off throughout the first, second, and extra minutes of the game without even scoring a goal astounded them beyond their wildest expectations. Lauren James's red card offense of stamping on Alozie at 87 minutes of play was motivated only by the disappointment of not scoring on time as they all  anticipated.

I would strongly praise the Super Falcons for their strength and well-played performance in the match against England, even though they later lost to the England women's team on penalties. They certainly put forth a tenacious effort to win the game, but luck was not on their side.

For me, I have the believe that the England team would get to the finals and if care isn't taken, they might be the champions.
The match against the super Falcons did well to cement my confidence in the believe that the England side is simply just better. Even with the red card and the pressure the African side brought, the England defense was prepared to hold the Falcons down, and that they did.

We have Morocco as the only African team left, and am hoping they do better to at least go past this stage and unto the finals.

Unfortunately Morocco has followed suit and all African teams are all out of the tournament as Spain lashes Morocco 4:0 today.

About the England women side being better and with a strong defense I would only agree on that when they play against either Spain or the France women team,  cause the Nigeria women team wasn't their size even though they played beyond bookmakers expectations giving them big odds with the believe that the game was going to be decided in favour of the England side from first half, but the underdogs gave out a nutshell fight forcing the game to penalty which sadly they later lost. AFAIK Spain and France are a team to beat and I just hope England lionesses stands a chance.

In the match between Japan and Sweden, it is Japan that have the upper hands. On the other match between Netherlands and Spain, it is Spain to reach Semifinals. Only one Asian team continues while every African countries progress have come to an end.

The performance of these three African teams was undervalued, but they were nevertheless able to advance to the competition's knockout stage. The Nigerian women's team (Super Falcons) impressed me the most, with their excellent performance against England, I had no idea the game would go to penalties because of how good the England team is and how they topped their group in the group stage. The Super Falcons gave them a tough time, and while they performed admirably, they were not simply fortunate to win that game. Better luck to them and the other African teams next time.

England will be without one of their most talked about players in this competition that is capable of turning games around with how skilled she is. Talking about Lauren James who was shown the red card in their game against Nigeria, and will face punishment for the offence. She may likely not play anymore in the competition or just miss the next game, and England will miss her impact. Colombia may actually end up winning England, they have been a very good team in this competition so far.

The match between Nigeria vs England in the Round of Sixteen was a tightly contested match. The Nigeria vs England Women's match was a goalless draw at full time.  Despite a tough competition between the two teams, England eventually won against Nigeria through penalties.  England confirmed the Super Eight by defeating Nigeria on penalties with a margin of 4-2 goals.  

I was a Nigerian supporter in today's match but unfortunately the team I support lost in the tiebreaker. A win against England today would have ensured Nigeria a place in the quarter finals as an African nation but unfortunately they lost on penalties. Congratulations to Nigeria for losing against England but fighting hard and then losing.

Seriously, with the way the game was started, I was very impressed with the Nigerian performance, and that was what gave me the mind to support them in the first place. Even though they lost to England, I still liked the way they put in effort to see the country succeed in the competition, and again, maybe it was because some penalties that they lost weakened them more, if not because they really tried their best in the match.
However, they have lost the game in the round of sixteen now, which disqualifies them for the quarterfinal. Hard luck for them; it was not easy all this time. Seeing that you even reached the round of sixteen is something that can be taken into consideration, so congrats, Naija.
