I think I saw Aston Villa having a loosing streak last season at early stage of the season, before they came back to winning ways, Arsenal did play well, but they didn’t create so many chances and opportunities, but single goal was enough for them take all 3 points, the season is just getting started I think teams would get into form to play better, I wasn’t impressed with Arsenal Overall performance, taking the 3 points is very essential and important players, there are game that you don’t win with so many goals, We also have to consider that Aston Villa sold so many players in the team, and bought new players, they need time to adjust and adapt to the new team, they will come stronger with time Aston Villa will perform.
Yea the game yesterday was so strong that Arsenal almost draw with Aston villa. I was expecting Arsenal to win with more than a goal but that was not the case yesterday, it was as if Arsenal was playing Manchester city or Chelsea because of how strong Aston villa was in that game which led me to ask how come Aston villa conceded 4 goals from Brighton because with what they played Arsenal they were supposed to win Brighton but I just realized that is how football can be sometimes. Congratulations to Arsenal though, because if they weren't strong Aston villa would have had a win. Of course, we know that unexpected results happen most of the time in football, as we see in almost every match. Strong teams often struggle to win against smaller teams and sometimes they lose the matches they win. Accordingly, the performance that Aston Villa gave against Arsenal in the last match was very good but the game they played against Brighton was not at all aggressive. Brighton attacked strongly which resulted in Aston Villa conceding many goals, but in this match most of the bettors bet on Aston Villa where they lost. But the game we saw against Arsenal really deserves their praise as their attacking and defense was excellent. Although Arsenal won this match with great difficulty they had to attack enough to collect points in this match and fortunately they finally won. However, we often see such incidents where strong teams often lose against normal teams, and have to leave the field with unexpected results.

https://www.theguardian.com/football/2026/aug/31/aston-villa-arsenal-premier-league-match-reportAston Villa have worked hard to strengthen their defence and Arsenal are already a strong team. Aston Villa poor performance in the opening match made me think they would not be able to keep up with Arsenal, meaning they would lose, but Arsenal's victory was a tough one. The first half of the match was exciting with both teams attacking but Bukayo Saka goal in the 59th minute of the match created a gap. Although Arsenal's strikers tried to increase the gap further, Villa strengthened their defence and also increased the pace of the attack. Both teams had an equal number of shots, but Villa were unable to put a single one on target. Arsenal had two on target, but they converted one into a goal. Nobody stay long against Arteta side Haha we see last season Aston Villa compete the 2:1 victory against Arsenal in the last minute of the game. This season they also think the same but this time Arteta make it different from the last season. This Arsenal side is very mature and actually Arteta are doing with a mental game so they are mentally strong team and if you think to defeat this Arsenal team easily I think you have some problems. They are the favourite to win the premier league and also in the UCL favourite list as well. Arsenal are using the same technique they use last season score one goal and then defend tightly and actually this statergy work very well and they did the same with Aston Villa score one goal by saka and then the whole team are started defence like they are in the title race match.

Aston Villa might have lost 4-0 to Brighton in the opening week of the premier league, but that does not change the fact that they are a very good team when playing at home. I think they had a decent game, despite losing to Arsenal. Arsenal is just a stronger team and I believe that Aston Villa can build on their performance yesterday and hopefully get back to winning ways.

Aston Villa performed very well in the last match. The fans were very upset to see the kind of performance Villa had in the first match of the season. But in the next match, they tried hard to correct their mistakes and could keep the ball in possession relatively well throughout the match. There is no need to be too aggressive at the beginning of the season. If they can gradually gain consistency, Aston Villa will start moving up from the bottom of the table very quickly. But the problem is the next match Hull City vs Aston Villa. In this match, Aston Villa will be under a lot of pressure. Hull City lost to a big team like Man United at the beginning of the season. Hull City is currently very aggressive and confident after winning two matches of the new season. So, Aston Villa can be under a lot of pressure in this match. I am waiting to see how Villa perform under pressure.

Chelsea have just sold Enzo Fernandez for a premier league record fee of £125 million Quid, plus add ons which we are yet to get clarification about. How did Chelsea manage to pull this off. This is a player who have made it known that he wants to leave the club, and they still manage to get a club record fee on him. Wow, just wow.
Chelsea now will likely not get a replacement for Enzo, at least not this transfer window. They have a couple of players on their list that were his replacement but their parents Clubs made it known that they won’t be selling this window. Camara was a top priority but it would take something huge to get him this deadline day. Chelsea offer was €55 million euros, Monaco don’t think that enough for the Senegalese.
Manchester city now have a midfield worth over 300million euros, all these were spent in just one transfer window. I really hope these players can play to expectation.

It was another bad night for Aston Villa. They couldn't do anything against Arsenal and none of their 7 shot attempts were on target. They have now lost both of their league matches. Let's see what they can do against Hull City next week.
Aston Villa’s performance this season has been very concerning. The loss to Arsenal has only added to Aston Villa’s woes, as they have yet to win a single game so far. It’s hard to imagine how Aston Villa’s Premier League campaign will unfold this season. In their next match against Hull City, I doubt Aston Villa will be able to secure a victory, given their truly dismal performance. This transfer window has being disastrous for Aston Villa with the sale of some of their best players and that has affected their performance in the last two games with two losses against Brighton and Arsenal, despite their new signings. It is disappointing for the team especially after a good performance last season and expectations for this new season. There is a lot of work to be done with the team to bring it back to its form, maybe these new signings would make that happen.

Aston villa has a good team if they can be able to continue in the form they played against Arsenal and work on their finishing line , definitely they will do more better in their other matches and may achieve as much as they did last season.

Aston villa played well against Arsenal, they more chances than Arsenal but couldn't convert any. Aston villa sold their best attackers ( Rogers and Watkins), and I haven't seen any better replacement, this is the cause of their issue now. Unai Emery must act fast, because I don't think they can survive like this in the UCL. Of course, Aston villa is still improving, they sold most of their key players, and the new ones are still trying to link up, time is all they need. I can still remember last season, Villa failed to score a single goal in their first 4 games, but they finally came back and even won the Europa League, and still qualified for UCL. I won't be surprise if this happens again.

It's always a problem when a team sells some of their players and has no plans about finding a good replacement for them. I am not convinced with the replacement Aston Villa got themselves in these positions and it's certainly the major cause of their struggles this season. Losing Tillmans, Rodgers and Watkins is enough for them to have a struggling start. I am not impressed with the replacements but they'll have to make them work. There's still time to redeem themselves, it's no late to improve again but I don't expect much from them this season unless maybe they take advantage of the January transfer window.

Losing Tillmans, Rodgers and Watkins is enough for them to have a struggling start.
I was also disappointed with the quality of players they used in replacing those top quality players that was sold, because how on earth will they sell a top player like Morgan Roger and be signing garnacho as his replacement, that's a stupid decision from aston villa, and it's a decision they may greatly regret, if another top quality left winger is not signed. Though the signing of Nicholas Jackson and the goalkeeper was not a bad idea because they are both good, but the other players that was signed is not good enough to maintain aston villa's level last season, unless their is a massive improvement from garnacho and the rest, which I don't think may happen. So as you have rightfully said, they have to act now before it's too late.

Indeed, it wasn't the best start for Liverpool. Unfortunately, they had to face Newcastle right out of the gate, resulting in a 2–2 draw.
A draw with Newcastle isn't a totally bad start in my opinion because Newcastle United themselves aren't a small team either that Liverpool can win just like that; a point share is the best thing for both sides than having one lose out, Also Newcastle themselves are still entitled to win the game, because winning isn't only meant for Liverpool, both teams came to the match with the same goal, and it happens that no one had a better chance, and it ended in a draw. Let them restrategize for a victory in their next game. Liverpool still does not change at all. Another draw in the second match. It’s actually pretty disheartening. I thought Liverpool would be different this season. But it turns out the start has been even worse. Other clubs are racing for the top spots, Liverpool is different. This club only managed two draws and sits in 13th place. With an equal number of goals scored and conceded, four of each.
I’m actually really struck by the top 4. Hull City has managed to secure third place. Although it’s still very early days. This is an excellent start for a newly promoted club. It all comes down to next. Whether they can maintain their winning consistency. They won twice and haven't even conceded a goal yet.

It's not like Gunners are infallible or defensive minded, it's just rivalry in fact one of the toughest EPL team Gunners have suffer defeat from in most recent seasons is Aston Villa and that's a good reason the game was difficult. Aside the fact that Aston villa didn't start the season well isn't disrupting the fact that they could still trouble Gunners and the fact that they won doesn't mean Gunners are now mature and out of their inconsistency, I will only comment on that after more than of the game weeks have gone passed.

Chelsea have just sold Enzo Fernandez for a premier league record fee of £125
Well, with Manchester City acquiring Enzo Fernandez they become the main contender for EPL title, so my congratulations to Man City. Regarding this Chelsea move, my assumption is that they killed two birds with one stone,i.e. settled some inner tension associated with Fernandez and improved their financial situation, which is far from good.

Is that really a wise decision taken by Xabi Alonso and the Chelsea management? The price they sold him is quite fair to them, that's a very nice deal they did there, but don't you think it will do them more good if Enzo Fernandez plays a little while for the team than the money they sold him? Anyways it's their warrant to face, and for Enzo Maresca, I very huge congratulations to him on that signing, this signing can only tell that Manchester City is a more bigger threat than they was from the starting of the season, now let's see how things goes for the both sides with this deal.

I won’t say they’ll playing an attack score and defend kind of game, it was a fiercely contested game between Arsenal and Villa. The Arsenal goal was even a lucky one and if not for that there was nothing else for Arsenal or Villa in that game, it could have been a draw. What I’ll say is that Arsenal have matured as a big team now and know how to grind out goals to Win a match no matter how tight it becomes. Even before the game starts, the fear of most Arsenal fans was that Aston Villa doesn't always give them the room for any unnecessary win, so getting that one goal was a very big deal for them, and in that match also you can tell that Aston Villa was not slacking, they were all out for business, you know after their first game lost to Brighton they wouldn't trade this one for anything, but it quite unfortunate to them that they have to meet with Arsenal which are also quite in a good form, but nevertheless I'm expecting a win from Aston Villa on their next match despite whom they are playing against.

Aston Villa has been a big issue to them in the past so they had to take that game very seriously, to Arsenal it was like a personal scores that needed to be settled and they did it properly by solving the puzzle of winning against Villa, i respect Arsenal for trying to avoid a particular mistake which is conceding first to Villa. If they had conceded first, maybe they would've registered their first lose or draw of the season. I know that Unai Emery would be so furious after that defeat and wondering how they missed getting a point atleast but Arsenal wants to retain the tittle and they can't do that by giving away points.

I have never seen a team as confused as Monaco before. If you are ready to let go of your players, you should never placed them on market. Chelsea had reached agreement with them concerning fee and personal agreement with the player was also a done deal. Everything looks good and concluded but Monaco suddenly made a U-turn and pulled out of deal. This is very unprofessional behaviour from them and I wish the relevant authorities should have a penalty for things like this. I believe Chelsea can still do well without Enzo as we've seen in the last two matches. Maresca is following Pep footsteps to acquire players without minding the expenses in order to get result. I hope it worth it at the end of season without regret.

I still cant believe the ammount of money some teams pay for some players who clearly didnt have that value at all, they dont worth it, for example how you can pay like 70 million for Nicola Jackson, i mean come on, they guy fail big opportunities everysingle time he can, is not serious at all. And Aston Villa paid for him that ammount and in exchange they sell their man goalkeeper for only 10 millions? Is a complete no sense.
