Only 1 goal in the whole match. When Foden got that red card I thought Manchester United would use it to their favor but they were just horrible. All those attempts but not even creating many big chances.

Is this the curse of Rashford?    We don't see the same team from the part which Carrick took over last season. They are really struggling.

Given that Foden received a red card in the 23rd minute, Manchester United should have been able to capitalize on the situation. However, they failed to do so and squandered several chances.
In my opinion, Carrick had prepared a solid strategy, but they were up against a strong team bolstered by high-quality players. I look forward to Manchester United's next steps under Carrick and hope for positive changes, considering the poor start to the season they have endured.

Seriously the way this match ended was so expected. I was hoping that Manchester United would win this one as well, especially how they played very well at the early stages of the match.  They appeared more energetic and were putting pressure on Manchester City, so I felt that they were going to take control of the game sooner or later. That is why how this match ended was very surprising to, and I don't know if I should say that this man city win was a thing about luck though.

But at the end of the day that is football for you, and gaining the lead or imposing pressure doesn't always mean that things will fall into place as you would expect.

Manchester City is a team definitely not ready to drop points, they know very well that Arsenal are the only team equal with them in the Aspect of winning the title race, and they can not afford to loose this match if the title is their interest.
If they loose this match Arsenal will be on top, and Arsenal as we all know is a team that is capable of going unbeaten for the rest of the league.
All being considered I don't think Manchester City will loose this match, they will have to put in their best in the second half if to win the match if not there will not be much of a competition anymore

Everyone knew that Manchester City would win that game because they want to score as many points as possible, so they are not prepared to take any chances because they know that Arsenal will be one of their biggest problems going forward. I love that because this is the same Arsenal that they have condemned, and now they are afraid of us. One thing I would really like Arteta to do is work on our attack because the midfield and defense are fine, so if he can work on the attack, everything will be balanced. And I love the kind of credit we are getting and and going unbeaten a normal thing for arsenal, and even with the red card Manchester United find it hard to be able to win the city and Manchester United fans did not expect, I know  it will end the way it did.

They just need time, on the other hand you’ll think Manchester United is a threat remembering how they played really well last season. I actually thought Carrick is here to save the club reason why he got the contract, nothing is predictable now but, clearly they’re losing it and Carrick needs to take action otherwise Manchester United team will do what they know how to do best although I’m still confident Manchester United will perform better but, it’s a matter of time obviously can fans wait any longer? This is a very important question because each match day there’s no improvement aside the wins recorded so far United is still struggling unlike other club.
Manchester City won playing a shorthanded match, so disappointing united couldn’t score a goal while they had every opportunity, honestly I never expected this outcome firstly both teams struggled really hard only to end up not giving viewers a tough match.

Pressure was so much on Manchester city in the early minutes of the second half, and I was even thinking Manchester United will score, even as Manchester city scored their goal, I was thinking Manchester United will equalize, but things changed after Manchester city scored, the pressure on them dropped. Manchester United losing today surprised most people, because Manchester city were playing with a man down, and they still won Manchester United, it’s a sad one for them. Manchester United were in control of the ball, but they couldn’t get a goal in the match.

That is why how this match ended was very surprising to, and I don't know if I should say that this man city win was a thing about luck though.

Todays lose for Manchester United shows that Carrick is really having lots of things to work on in Manchester United, it’s a lose that most people didn’t expect after Manchester city had a red card. Among everything that happened in the premier league today i will say Manchester united’s lost was one of the most annoying thing one will ever say. This was not the first time Manchester United is experiencing same tragic lost, one was last season against Everton and today its against Manchester City.  With today's performance I can clearly say they are not yet ready to face the challenges ahead of them because if they where,  I don't think they would have lost in today's game. I think 3 games in the premier league is much too early to judge the patience of the team or the fans. Especially if we do think of this team as a struggling team. Carrick did well to revamp the team to some progress last season, got them in the UCL and they are still a dream to be reckoned with in the EPL.

Darby games always comes with a different vibe and regardless of whom might be considered favorites, nothing ever proves to be what it seems in a Derby.

The red card situation should have presented them a real opportunity to get something out of this match, it came really early and for them to have played an entire 70 minutes against a 10 man Manchester City without a goal, that’s rather discouraging but, we’ve got to applaud the ingenuity of Manchester City.

This derby had it all. Excitement, frustration, hope, surprise, and a controversial moment.

Manchester City is the second team under a red card to beat Manchester United at Old Trafford. Last Newcastle beat Manchester United with 10 men at Old Trafford.

Remove Rashford's name from the list of suckers. Michael Carrick is no manager.

First of all I have to congratulate M. City because they played with 10 men from the 23rd minute and still managed to win the match 1-0.
It is an important win for M. City, they picked up three very important points with 10 men.

There is nothing to say about M.United because I don’t think they were able to take control of the game against an opponent who had been reduced to 10 men at home and they lost to a team with 10 men. Really bad defeat.

After causing the harm, the referring body Pro Ref has confirmed that the onfield decision was an error in judgement and also noting that it was wrong not to accept an onfield review to clear the situation. Now they have sent an official statement to Manchester United about the situation.

Now my question is, will the goal be withdrawn and one point given to Manchester United or is this another way of causing media uproar among fans? The VAR system is really not working if it can not be used to appropriately establish if a goal is an offside before giving the goal. A comment in the post claimed that England uses the VAR system to fix games. How true is this and what's your view about the entire situation?

Now my question is, will the goal be withdrawn and one point given to Manchester United or is this another way of causing media uproar among fans? The VAR system is really not working if it can not be used to appropriately establish if a goal is an offside before giving the goal. A comment in the post claimed that England uses the VAR system to fix games. How true is this and what's your view about the entire situation?

Oh my goodness, they should move the fvck on already in my opinion. A decision was already made in favour of Manchester City and it should remain that way. Whatever decision that was not made during the game shouldn't be altered nor changed. Manchester United are overwhelming. I lost the passion but I will try to see all of their game this season. They're so poor that they have conceded in every game they have played this season. It says a lot about their defence.

many EPL clubs are not improving a lot compared to their last season performance. Even some clubs are just facing a huge regress like Liverpool and Chelsea. They're also consistently getting draw, which is making the gap with Arsenal is far bigger.
At this point, i only see City as the only club that may be possible to contest for the trophy. However, i may also rule out their chance to challenge Arsenal if they're also getting pretty bad result in the upcoming game against MU.

Arsenal's outright odds is still moving down continuously. It goes from 2.50 to the 1.78, but can be even lower if City unable to get three points. I'm boutta believe Arsenal take the trophy again.

I prefer to say some clubs have not adapted well but for the problem of improving performance it can happen especially at the moment the season is still very long because we are only at the beginning of the season.

Yesterday 7 matches and there are 4 series including for this big club shows that apart from the EPL competition it is a little more difficult because it is unexpected, some clubs are also still not adapting to the existing schemes and players for their squads.
Interestingly at the moment with the less erratic situation of some big clubs Arsenal still remain solid with their performance and with 4 matches currently they are awake in terms of points and back again they are cleansheet in match 4 matches.

That’s the disappoint fact about the Manchester United 0:1 Manchester City derby today, the Foden red card at the 23rd minute ought to have opened Manchester City up real good but instead, the reverse was the case. Manchester City still found a way to get a goal that turned out to be the only goal and winning goal of the fixture.

Is Haaland really at 9 goals already! Man is really cup yo a quick start this season with very few games played. I thought he was going to struggle but, his paving his paths through with every game.

I can understand why you are annoyed with Manchester united losing to Manchester City, but you have to admit that Manchester United dominated the game.  Let’s not be too quick to conclude that Manchester united is out of race, remember what happened last season when Michael Carrick took over Manchester united he revived the team and they finished third place.  Manchester United may not be at their best right now but I’m sure they will get back on track soon enough, I believe Michael Carrick is doing everything possible to make it happen.

All these official statements and media posts are just ranting and fruitless noise after losing a big debut game. The match is over and the whole 3 points are already awarded to the winner so any cry over the refereeing error will not change the table or the scoreboard. The best team won!! Nothing more and nothing less. Man City own the pitch, and they came out victorious so people need to dial it down on all these conspiracy theories and just accept the result and accept the reality of the defeat.

Seriously agree that all this clarifications are not needed after the game, they should simply stop doing it, it would have been acceptable if this was actually the first time that this is happening but this errors are been looking like a consistent thing than even fair play, they should simply stop doing it because they are obviously not really learning any lesson from it.

Aside that let’s look at Manchester United, I think Michael Carrick is simply like the past Manchester United managers, he cannot break down defenses most especially if the team were siting back. Manchester United were so poor that he should have definitely be looking at making changes very early in the game. This isn’t the first time he struggles against a team with a man down so early. Haaland on his own is natural born scorer, it really doesn't matter who his playing with as a teammate, just give him the ball in open spaces and see him turn it into goals more often than not. I also understand that Manchester City really needed a tested player to cover that position because of the departure of Bernardo Silver and Rodrigo in one window, so I will not downplay Enzo's impact. The new coach is very much building a team, it takes time and eventually we might start seeing the City we used to know before hopefully. The mistake Carrick made was against Hull City, I won't entirely blame him alone and leave out the players because they too contributed in that defeat but his corrected that mistake and the team went on to win, I also believe in Carrick as well.

There's no doubt about it—Haaland is a natural goalscorer, and while the team is clearly still in a rebuilding phase, they already have a great foundation. Personally, I really like how they're handling things. That said, losing key players like Bernardo and Rodri in the same window has definitely taken a toll. I'm not 100% sold on Enzo just yet, but he's what we have right now. Stepping up to cover that gap left by Bernardo and Rodri is a huge task, so he has to give it his absolute best.

As for Carrick, I'm confident he'll keep surprising us both in the Premier League and the Champions League. I have high hopes for what he can build here.

Manchester City put in a magnificent performance and mounted a solid defense; although one of their players was sent off which caused them some initial anxiety they continued to attack. They managed to score the decisive goal, securing a vital three points. Many had anticipated that Manchester United would win given City's numerical disadvantage, yet United failed to capitalize despite launching numerous attacks. The match was truly remarkable, particularly the way the Manchester City players fought with confidence, ultimately clinching the victory with that single goal. Haaland’s brilliant strike secured the win, and if Manchester City can maintain this consistency, they are likely to achieve great victories in upcoming matches as well.

“Bad luck” is a fitting way to describe the reality of the Manchester derby. Overall, Manchester United played at a high level, but in my opinion, their weakness lay in their attacks from the right and left flanks. On the left, Rashford lacked a clear purpose in his attacks. His attempts often came to nothing once he was in front of Manchester City’s goal.
Mbeumo also didn’t perform at his best in terms of creating attacks. Carrick should have substituted these two players earlier, since Manchester United already had Cunha and Bruno—players focused on scoring—once Sesko was brought in.
Mainoo and Tielemans didn’t seem to function well, even though they played quite well in the midfield; however, due to the overload of attacking players, Mainoo and Tielemans were confused by the movements of Rashford and Mbeumo.

A lot worse and man simply looks lost and confused. Every sensible Manchester United fan would see that this is just another rinse and repeat season and there's nothing literally for us to win if you deep it. Up in my head, it can go a lot worse if he remains stiffneck doing things that will not work. It is exhausting complaining about Manchester United every season and I do not possess such energy and passion anymore. The management and those in charge of the football are dullards.

 They have just seen Manchester United as another opportunity. Look at the clubs they also manage in French league 1 and Switzerland, how have they done ever since they started managing these clubs?! I don't expect them to win shit with Manchester United. I'm sick and tired of complaining about the coach when the owners are literally dullards not ready for business.
