I'm starting to have mixed feelings about what Tapales has been doing lately. It seems like he's moving away from being a humble boxer and trying to imitate what Casimero has been doing. I understand that he's training hard, but maybe he should keep his words to himself and just focus all his energy into training.

Calling himself a "nightmare" for Inoue sounds a bit funny because no amount of trash talk is likely to disrupt Inoue's focus.

That's just how it is, man. Boxers who engage in trash talk tend to get more attention. While Tapales might not naturally be that boastful, he's probably following the orders of his promoter. Marketing the fight is crucial, and this kind of promotion is designed to make the fight more interesting, attract a crowd, and boost potential PPV sales if there is one.

Also, if there is an agreement in their contract that the fighters will receive a big bonus if the sales of their payperview reaches a certain quota then Marlon Tapales should certainly trashtalk and market himself as Inoue's nightmare hehehe.

I reckon Marlon should also watch the replays of Conor McGregor's interviews and start walking the billionaire walk like Conor hehehe.

Nah, I don't think that Tapales has the swag like that, this Filipino boxers came in poor like Manny Pacquaio, so they are really very humble in boxing even if they become a world champion because they still think were they come from. Exception to the rule is John Riel Casimero, however, it seems that his arrogant lifestyle has caught up with him. He doesn't have a good fight at 122 lbs so far and we don't know if Inoue will give him a chance after he got all the belts from Tapales.

And remember that this two doesn't speak English very well and obviously it's not their first language. So it's very hard to talk trash against your opponent as it will go on a translator and the translator might missed or intentionally omit words.

However, Conor McGregor also was poor in Ireland before he began his career in MMA. He was a plumber and a construction worker. Also similar to Tapales, Conor was also humble before he became very rich. When he was not yet a champion, Conor's trashtalking was also not from his personality. He only taught himself to trashtalk to sell more tickets and more UFC subscriptions. Marlon can also use this tactic to sell more payperviews. It will also make this very exciting for the fans hehe.

A day after Christmas, it's a great selection of schedule. Now, there's no more speculation about whether the fight will push through or not. At least we have the official report on when and where to watch this fight.

Tapales seems to be taking this seriously; he's already been training, even though there are still 2 months before the fight. Will he be training for a total of 3 to 4 months? I understand his eagerness to win, but I hope he doesn't overstrain himself.
I hope so too. Maybe he is doing exhaustive training now and will do light training when the fight gets near. There are still two months remaining before their fight and I think a month of rigorous drills should be enough while he conditions himself on the last month before going to Japan.
I understand why he is serious about it and maybe his camp does know that they are the heavy underdog in this fight that's why they want to surprise everyone with a display of Tapales' best performance.

After watching some of Tapales' training and sparring clips, I think he is going to use the "in and out" type of strategy and if I remember it right this is also the technique he used against Murodjon Akhmadaliev, he might try to take it until the last round and let the judges do the decision. I hope it will be a successful strategy against a boxer like Inoue who likes ending the fight in a short amount of time.

I'm not entirely certain if this is a great strategy. While it's a unification fight, Tapales should acknowledge that he's not competing on neutral ground. Fighting in Inoue's home country could mean that Inoue gets certain advantages in a close contest. To secure a victory, Tapales might need to focus on developing a potent counter that has the potential to hurt Inoue and aim for a knockout. This way, the judges won't need to decide the outcome.

That's what I think about his attitude too, and I think that McGregor being an asshole and cocky fighter during interviews contributed to the increase in sales in his fights which I think is the best strategy right now because you can pair this kind of fighter with a calm demeanor fighter or an equally trashtalking fighter and the results are going to be the same: more people wanting to see the matches. This fight is going to be a blast and I feel like Tapales is going to have a hard time with this one on the aspect that it's the Ariake Arena where Inoue defeated Fulton so the psychological warfare is on Inoue's advantage but given that there's two titles at risk for Tapales, hopefully it's enough to stave off that mental warfare of fighting in that arena where Inoue did a one-sided fight.

Boxing and UFC are undoubtedly two distinct markets, and it's clear that boxing holds the bigger share. In fact, according to reports, Conor McGregor made a total of $85 million from all his UFC fights combined. However, in just one boxing match against Mayweather, he earned over $100 million. This demonstrates that the real money is in boxing, which is why we see many UFC fighters exploring exhibition fights, where they can potentially earn a significant amount, win or lose.

But doesnt really necessary to be like that on making some trashtalks yet we've seen legendary boxers who are just simply humble but do still be able to get that kind of fame and popularity.Well, we've seen those boxers or fighters who are really that loving on trashtalking or really being that too tactful. We dont know if those are really that changed in behaviors or simply some way on marketing themselves to sell more tickets or getting that popularity, no one really knows but we cant deny that it does work but pretty sure that there are people whom do really hate but well their performance or stats would really do the talking. They might not be liked by some people but still they are really that good which they dont care about those issues or talks.

As for Tapales then i do see this man isnt really that too tactful but you could really see that this one isnt really that something you could be easily to be taken down. Im bit that excited
if his toughness and power would really be more than with Donaire? If he is, then he had the chance yet we've seen on how Donaire did make some damage to Inoue.
Speed is significant on here and lets see if they do make out adjustments.

It's true that many fighters who earn substantial money are often skilled in the art of trash-talking. Marlon, despite not being a natural trash-talker, is making an effort to adopt the style that has proven successful in boxing. We can't deny that it's not just about winning fights; having an effective marketing strategy is crucial.

To engage fans and make them eager to watch the fight, creating interest is essential. Fans can be quite passionate, especially when they hear fighters trading verbal jabs, and that alone is a sign that trash talk has been a successful strategy.

Most likely, but I doubt that Marlon style is to trash talk, on the contrary, leading up to the fight with  Akhmadaliev, you will not hear anything from him. On the contrary it was Murodjon who says that he is going to knock out Marlon and then looking for a unification fight with Inoue.

To engage fans and make them eager to watch the fight, creating interest is essential. Fans can be quite passionate, especially when they hear fighters trading verbal jabs, and that alone is a sign that trash talk has been a successful strategy.

The fight is going to be held in Japan, if this is in the US, yeah maybe they need marketing to reach out to casual fans. But it's not, the fans of Inoue and the Japanese people in general already knows this fight and for sure they are going to watch it and see how their champion will get the belt from Marlon and to unify the super bantamweight division.

It's understandable that he's taking a different approach now that he's a champion and involved in a high-stakes unification fight. Building hype and marketing is an integral part of professional boxing, and it can lead to more significant financial rewards. Even though he's engaging in trash talk, his goal is to capitalize on the moment and make the most out of this opportunity. If he wins, it would undoubtedly solidify his position and increase his marketability. However, if he loses, he may have to work his way back up, but the rewards from this high-profile fight are worth the effort.

To engage fans and make them eager to watch the fight, creating interest is essential. Fans can be quite passionate, especially when they hear fighters trading verbal jabs, and that alone is a sign that trash talk has been a successful strategy.

How about the PPV? I believe there's a PPV of this fight, and those who aren't able to watch in the venue, they could watch through PPV sponsored by ESPN I think.

There's no PPV on this fight as it can only watch on ESPN+, but there's a subscrition which is.... "You can get an ESPN+ subscription for $10.99 per month,"... So you just have to subscribe ahead of the fight so you'll not miss this upcoming big fight.

Yeah, and since the fight is in Japan, it won't be a PPV. And that's why we always thought that Inoue should really be fighting in Japan, so that he will be a PPV star as well instead of fighting in his native country. He needs to get out of his comfort zone and be state side and obviously to create more hype and money for him and cemented his legacy.

As per the odds though, Tapales is still 8:1 underdog. Maybe for those who love to bet on the underdog, then maybe Tapales is your guy. We've witnessed Ngannou knocking down Fury in their fight when no one thought that he can even last 5 rounds of the best HW champion of our generation. So who knows, upset can really happen in boxing.

Is it true that there is no PPV on this fight?
Because usually ESPN will also sponsor PPV like other boxing fights.
But if really want to be able to watch every fight more easily then subscribing to ESPN is the right choice especially since ESPN also covers quite a lot of matches not just boxing.

The Inoue vs Tapales fight is getting closer, there are only around 26 days left and the news about this fight is already quite busy on several social media, especially on several Twitter account channels.
Seeing both of their preparations will make the fight quite brutal but I don't think that either of them can win by TKO because they both have pretty good endurance.

Not bad if that's per monthly basis, though if you are not willing to pay that much, I guess streaming will be there. Just navigate and look
for free streams, but expect ads that will keep bothering you from time to time.

For sure, there are streamers who will share it just going to ask for small donation or for viewers to create hypes with their streaming links.

Let's see how both champs will try to protect/defend their titles and how they will impress their fans during the fight night.

Free streams are readily available and quite common in the Philippines. Many streamers on platforms like Facebook offer free streams and may ask for online donations, but they don't impose any obligation to donate. This makes services like ESPN+ less necessary, unless you're a fan of other sports that are also covered by ESPN+ besides boxing.

Let's see how both champs will try to protect/defend their titles and how they will impress their fans during the fight night.

I've witnessed Inoue's impressive performances in the ring, and he appears to be virtually unstoppable, showcasing his dominance. However, when it comes to Tapales, there's still a significant question mark in my mind.

Speaking of Inoue's performance, yeah he is amazing but somehow there's a doubt on some people on the boxing community especially his opponents that he has taking something like PEDs. This may be the reason why the camp of Tapales is requesting that there should be a surprise VADA testing to see if Inoue is really a clean fighter but i doubt that request would be approved since the fight will be held in Tokyo, Japan.

That is a grave accusations though, but I wouldn't be surprise though, I mean during Manny's height, he was also accused of using PEDs but there's nothing concrete or finding in his urine and blood sample and he all goes to this voluntary testing.

I also read that Fulton camp alleges that Inoue and his camp did illegal wraps or at least they have concerned about how they are wrapping the hands of Inoue. But the fight is done and we see how he destroys Fulton.

They have this doubt in mind because Inoue is different to other boxers. I mean, he's impressive and a real monster when in the ring. His performance lead some people to think he might be taking PEDs or something that can help him destroy his opponent. Well, these are just accusations and not proven.

Anyway, is December 26 the official date of this fight?

Yes, we haven't seen this kind of boxers, who really punch very hard and just knocking out people. So everyone is really mesmerized to the point that they have to question whether he is using performance enhancing drugs as they can't believed what they are seeing. And now he will have another fight and this time he is aiming for a second unified title in another division. Although it has been done before, but not in this magnitude that Inoue is doing.

Anyway, is December 26 the official date of this fight?
It has been confirmed already and so everything is set. Only way that this fight is going to be postpone is that if either boxer got injured themselves (just like when Inoue got injured against Fulton and it was pushed several months later, but it didn't stop Inoue from winning a belt at 122 lbs).

Just the same, when Pacquiao is dominating the ring, I used to remember that Mayweather also thinks that way and he doesn't want to fight the prime
Pacquiao accusing him that there's something that the man is taking the reason why he really dominating.

But all are just accusation and not being proven till Mayweather beat Pacquiao in a match where many can say that it was a robbed with an unfair
judgements.

moving back to Tapales request, not sure if he and his camp can get that surprise test as the fight will take place inside Inoue's' homeland.

I watched that fight too, and I have to agree that Manny didn't appear to be robbed. Mayweather was clearly in control, dictating the pace of the fight. He made it incredibly tough for Pacquiao to land clean shots. While Pacquiao is known for his speed and strength, Mayweather's ring intelligence and speed were a crucial advantage, which is why he emerged victorious via unanimous decision.

However, it's true that some people have a negative perception of Mayweather's fighting style, finding it a bit on the boring side. Personal preferences in boxing styles certainly play a role in how fans perceive fights.

This is a unification fight, they'll do everything to make it a clean fight, and if that drug testing is requred, then I think both camp should comply with that.
