It is still a good fight as Tapales reached round 10 and most of the people said that he cannot surpass round 6 which is surprising he did because of how he defends himself. It is still not as easy a fight as we thought because of the ranking and how far Tapales is from Inoue. It is the prime of Japan right now and mostly there are no Filipinos that can fight Inoue as of the moment. Congrats to all who bet and won!

In any case, Naoya Inoue has won by knockout against lefthanded opponents before the fight reached round  5. This might occur again which might make under 6.5 rounds a good bet. There is also round range 4-6 victory for Inoue.

If you guys push this bet through, you'll lose your money as the fight ended in round 10, in favor of Inoue.
Tapales went down in round 4 but he was able to get up and continue the fight, from then, he became so careful that he ain't throwing a lot of punches but just remain on being competitive. I don't know his strategy but it's expected that a fighter who would fight Inoue will lose his aggressiveness.

Tapales made it to round 10. Sure he is tough to KO but I think because in this bout he was more into defending himself. If his goal is to defeat Inoue, I think he will open himself to serious hits that will end earlier.
Tapales are no different than the fighters that had fought Inoue. They can't withstand the power of Inoue, so instead of looking for opening to knock out Inoue, they were focus on defensive stance to survive, it's the sad reality. So, I think Inoue has to move up so he can find an opponent that could match his power.

This fight is going to be the basis of the next fighter who will face Inoue. It made him ineffective. Inoue said he will defend his belt twice in this division, Nery I think should be the next.

Inoue has no reason to stay at super bantamweight. Although it was previously reported that he'll stay for a while, but for the sake of real competition, I think he needs to move up and look for another title fight.

Yes, everyone thinks that Tapales will not last that long, but he did and that is already a big accomplishment for his endurance and really willing to win this fight. You can see that he was really hurt and trying to get up from the canvass. But the pain though, it was very tough to see fellow Filipino again falling to the Monster.

But it is what it is, so history has been made today by Inoue. Let's see if Inoue is true to his words that he wanted to remain in this division and clean it up.

Names like Luis Nery, Akhmadaliev or even John Riel Casimero is potential opponent for him.

Maybe Akhmadaliev and Casimero had a better chance of fighting Inoue since the latter loves to fight in his own country, especially now that he is the champion. AFIAK, Luis Nery is banned in Japan, so for the fight to happen, it should be outside Japan, which is unlikely to happen.

Yes, I know that Nery is ban in Japan, but if there is a chance that this fight is going to happen in the US, specially that Inoue says he might stay here then I think there is a big possibility that this could happen in the future. Unless Inoue doesn't want to fight or doesn't want to get out of his comfort zone and keeps fighting in Japan.

That's correct, he is banned for life.

JAPAN BOXING COMMISSION BANS LUIS NERY FOR LIFE

Quote
Former WBC bantamweight champ Luis Nery might one-day develop into a major player at junior featherweight or featherweight but the controversial Mexican fighter, who won his title in Japan, will never fight in that country again.

The Japan Boxing Commission (JBC) announced on March 9 that it is suspending Nery from fighting within its jurisdiction indefinitely, a reaction to the 23-year-old fighter’s failure to make weight for his WBC-mandated rematch against Shinsuke Yamanaka on March 1 in Tokyo.

And regarding Casimero, I'm not sure if Inoue will still fight him because he wasn't impress with the last fight of Casimero. So with my own speculation, I think the closest fighter he'll fight if he stay is Akhmadaliev whom Tapales had already beaten. Again, I think this is just another a walk in the park fight.

Agree, well. Disappointed but not surprise.
I didn't comment this before but i really have a guess that Tapales doesn't have a much in this fight. Based on his previous fights the agility to match Inoue's, doesn't have a signature killing punch to match the Monster, like i gave him 7/10 rating while 10 is the Monster. But unfortunately it happened just what i thought. Thing is I didn't made a bet because of busy holidays, which is the saddest part.

Yes, I think we all agree that as much as we gave Tapales a slim chance to win, Inoue should be the clear winner and so it did. But you have to give respect to Tapales that even if he goes down in round 4, he manage to stay in the pocket and take the best shot of Inoue.

But I guess it's too much even for the likes of Tapales, those body shots have taken a toll on him.

So who's next for Inoue now? is he going up to another division and make himself a 3 weight class unified champion and separate his name from Crawford?

Yes, that's given, that's for all boxers of my fellow countrymen who risk their lives on the ring.

At least i expect him to go up til lightweight in 5-6 years with his age, height and body type. Of course it won't be easy, it takes lots of training and conditioning.

It is what everyone expects for the outcome, but not the kind of fight we expected to see.
Though being at loss, Tapales have somehow opened up an idea on how to possibly beat Inoue. If you all have noticed, the fight last until the 10th round even being after Tapales was knocked down in the 4th. Well, I guess his philly shell or the shoulder roll defense was somehow effective against Inoue. The one main thing that's lacking about Tapales' performance is the footwork and the courage to throw combinations when he sees an opening. He actually manage to throw clean shots that somehow rocked Inoue at some point, but it's never gonna be enough without any follow punches, especially for a fighter like Tapales who lacks the ability to throw one KO punch.

Now, I'm pretty interested on what type of fighting style could beat Inoue.

For future possible opponents of Inoue or possibly he could be able to match on, then for sure they would be able to snip out some ideas on what are the probable things that could be used against him
but of course if there would be a counter then theres always a following counter into that counter.  Smiley. Its true that Tapales do really lack up with those follow up punches on which he definitely know
when it comes to power it isnt something in level with Inoue on which it is really just that right that he would be needing up to have those follow ups at least.
Footwork? Yes, i do highly agree on that, rhythm do immediately fade up and become flat footed in later rounds.

I think that one fighting style could beat him are those with accuracy hooks and has foot work too. I can see his calmness while he's beating Tapales and have a lot of opens. While Tapales, he has to improve his foot works because that will help him to cope up with Inoue's speed. Some say that it should be Tank Davis that will be able to beat him but he won't go to the US and will only fight his title defenses on his main land, Japan. While many fans and countrymen say that it's going to be Casimero that will be able to beat him but with his style, I don't think that Casimero will survive and he might even get knocked on earlier rounds unlike what Tapales did and shown that he's too sturdy despite all of those pinch hooks that have been sent by Inoue.

Edit: round 10 KO win for Inoue, he was just too powerful for Tapales' defense. The consolation here is that i won my bet of over 7.5.
excited now about what's next for Inoue, will he move up again to the featherweight division and conquer the 130-pound category.

You were right, it ended over round 7.5. Congratulations for your win. That was nice odds you got.

I risked placing a bet on under 7.5 even if it has lower odds because I thought Inoue could finish Tapales in the first half. It could have ended earlier and my bet won, but props to Tapales for being a solid opponent.

A big congratulations to Inoue for becoming an undisputed champion for the second time around and in another division, a rare feat in the sport of boxing.

A bigger and heavier fighter and someone that can take his power with a good chin and doesn't just stand in front of him just like what Tapales did here. Maybe if Inoue decided to go up to 126 lbs or higher he could face someone with this kind of fighter.

Yeah, I know that feeling of seeing a countryman falling victim against the Monster.

But at least he made everyone proud of his performance, he gave everything but the Monster is the best boxer right now.

Yes, I myself was completely shock to see Marlon going 10 rounds, as I have said previously, 7 might be the round that Tapales will be knockout. Nevertheless, how can anyone beat that version of Inoue? He is a complete fighter now, with speed, combine with power and that footwork.

He is comfortable facing a lefty, and that foot placement, we can see it throughout the fight. If Marlon could have more power or more more head movement, it might end up in the judges scorecard by I think the result will be the same.

But you have to give respect to Tapales that even if he goes down in round 4, he manage to stay in the pocket and take the best shot of Inoue.
Yes, that's given, that's for all boxers of my fellow countrymen who risk their lives on the ring.

So who's next for Inoue now? is he going up to another division and make himself a 3 weight class unified champion and separate his name from Crawford?
At least i expect him to go up til lightweight in 5-6 years with his age, height and body type. Of course it won't be easy, it takes lots of training and conditioning.

He is still at his prime years, so he can stay at super bantam and best everyone, or go to Featherweight with the likes of Vargas, a tall lanky 126 lbs champion. So that will a big test for him and let's see if he can also be as dominant as the 2 other weight class that he reign.

It's not that it will take training and conditioning, he has that already, it's more of him facing a natural bigger fighter as he moves up in division. But if he has that kind of DNA like Manny Pacquiao maybe he can continue his run at Featherweight.

I think Murodjon Akhmadaliev is his mandatory on one of those belts, so most likely he will fight Murodjon next.

It is still a good fight as Tapales reached round 10 and most of the people said that he cannot surpass round 6 which is surprising he did because of how he defends himself. It is still not as easy a fight as we thought because of the ranking and how far Tapales is from Inoue.
It is already an achievement for Tapales compared to some of the fighters Inoue fought in the past, he is doing great he gives Inoue problems because his offense cannot get through although I want the fight to go to the scorecard even if Inoue wins by decision, Inoue is really a monster and he is in the prime of his career, he'll have many more championship fights to come and will break a lot of records.

Quote
It is the prime of Japan right now and mostly there are no Filipinos that can fight Inoue as of the moment. Congrats to all who bet and won!

If he steps into the featherweight and Magsayo agrees to go down Magsayo can give him a good fight, right now no boxer can stand out against Inoue in the Super Bantamweight the real challenge is the Featherweight division, if he wants to go for a  Pacquiao record he can do so while he is younger and at his best form

Tapales survived the first round, it was very slow, but we can see the speed and power of Inoue already.

Marlon is very cautious in the first round and I think he slip just one left counter, so I give the first round to Inoue obviously.

More movement in round 2, I think both are settling down, Tapales though slip. Just observed the feet.

Edit: Tapales down in round 4.

All Inoue show for now, hope it will last 8 rounds. Seems the punches of Tapales never hurt Inoue so I think in the third quarter, Inoue will throw all he got to knockout Tapales here.

Edit: round 10 KO win for Inoue, he was just too powerful for Tapales' defense. The consolation here is that i won my bet of over 7.5.
excited now about what's next for Inoue, will he move up again to the featherweight division and conquer the 130-pound category.

According to Inoue during his interview in the ring after the fight, super bantamweight will be his weight division for now. He also mentioned that there was a rumor he cannot confirm because the fight is still being negotiated. However, the rumors are his next opponent might be Luis Nery in Las Vegas. Another rumor is saying that it will be John Riel Casimero.

I am wishing for this to be John Riel Casimero hehehehe but I speculate that this will Luis Nery to prepare Inoue's entry for boxing in Las Vegas.

I am wishing for this to be John Riel Casimero hehehehe but I speculate that this will Luis Nery to prepare Inoue's entry for boxing in Las Vegas.

he can choose to fight Casimero first, in Japan, and if he wins again, he could proceed with his last fight in the division with Luis Nerry in Las Vegas. This Casimero fight has been long due, their trashtalking started when the fight was cancelled due to covid restrictions, but it didn't resume when everything was back to normal.

I also saw an interview from Casimero saying that Tapales knows he has no chance of winning after round one, so all he does is  just tighten his defense because that's the only way to survive longer. Casimero even mentioned that if he was there, he would be able to give Inoue a fight, he even beat one of the best bantamweight which was Tete in just 3 rounds, so he is the only Filipino who can beat Inoue.

So this is what I like Inoue vs Casimero, biggest fight next year.

Now, I'm pretty interested on what type of fighting style could beat Inoue.
While many fans and countrymen say that it's going to be Casimero that will be able to beat him but with his style, I don't think that Casimero will survive and he might even get knocked on earlier rounds unlike what Tapales did and shown that he's too sturdy despite all of those pinch hooks that have been sent by Inoue.
but how easy to find a boxer with much accuracy like pacquiao and with speed as the Flash and a punch power like Tyson? because that will surely beat Inoue as this is a true example of being a Monster inside the ring.
he just make Tapales a punching bag.
