I'd like to share my experience with you all. Even though I'm not currently employed, I went through a phase of gambling while I was working in the past, and the outcome wasn't positive.

I have a part-time job that I am into, sometimes I will be at work and I will be free, I do gamble whenever I have nothing to do, and I haven’t noticed any negative impact on me. Whenever I am busy, I do forget about my mobile phone completely, but there are some times when I am less busy and I just decide to gamble just to make myself busy.
 
The only people that gambling at work might disturb are those who keep on gambling even when they are busy at work. They still look for ways to gamble; they are really attached to gambling. I am sure people like that will be affected at work because gambling is going to affect their work performance.

I have never compromised my money to gambling that is, allocating huge amount of my salary to gamble because I have a very big insight on what it cause to me and moreover it is not something we have to put trust as an ends meet where we are  typically relying to make a larger profits. Although a larger portion can come into whenever we have a sure winning and also lose greatly whenever we allocates a higher amount to gamble but that is not what we can be sure at because it doesn't deal with accuracy or professional we are in our prediction rather being challenged as a luck based game with little or zero chance of winning.

Though, I must say I have tried to multitask before while working (trying to watch a video or play some mobile idle game) and it was quite taxing to my performance, so I do not doubt any word you say when you tell us you got problems from gambling at your workplace.

Nothing wrong if you gamble at work but make sure that it doesn't affect your work and you're off duty when you do that. As long as it's your money and you don't touch your company's money or anyone from your colleagues. But if you're going to that point that you're also using your company's time and resources to your gambling then you will pay the price of it. Your work ethic will also be affected and brought to the point that you will never like and you'll regret it in the end. Well, I'm not trying to be clean but I have never done this although with other websites and activities, I've done it except gambling. And that yields to addiction especially if you are having problems to function properly, perhaps in one’s work, ‘coz he’s distracted and won’t be comfortable doing his job until that drive has been satisfied temporarily. Gambling at work is fine and I agree that it is, especially if you won’t compromise the things that you should be doing for that instance. If things won’t be handled with extra care, then things might get worse. It is a two-way perspective; playing during your duty would hurt his company.You won’t also be able things with convenience especially at work if your ‘hidden act’ has not been served. It's all about self-control and how you have been carrying out your gambling activities throughout your gambling journey. If you are a responsible gambler and you don't spend a lot of money on gambling, you won't face such situations because you won't always be thinking about gambling, but if you are an addicted gambler who spends a lot of time and money gambling, this will definitely affect your work life as well because you won't be able to take gambling out of your mind and then you may as well start gambling when you are at work.

If we talk about personal experiences, I've never gambled when working in an office or outside, but it has been some time since I'm working from home and sometimes when I feel tired from work or want to have a small break, that's when I may gamble a little bit on a mobile gambling app just to enjoy my break.

Gambling at work to me,  means a lot since it is a form of distraction and that is why some company never allow the use of personal computers at the work the reason being that with a personal computer,  the worker will have more things installed in it such as games and other gambling apps and tools,  so allowing them to work from such PC will cause a lot of distractions to them along the way,  so best thing is for the company to provide them with a working PC that has nothing on it unless the official workplace for the staff to carry out the job.

Sometimes,  those who work as private businessmen and work for themselves can be flexible and gamble between work schedules,  but to be honest it doesn't sound well to gamble at work for me,  since it does cause distractions.

I think more than that, it's the mental effect on us gamblers. Assuming that you are working, of course you will do everything in that 8 hours of your job. And after that, maybe you can think of your gambling activity and that's where the problem starts. Specially as the OP described or any other threads here in this board, after a big lost, some of us suffer some health issues, whether it was just in our brain or physical issues.

So it's really very difficult for gamblers to overcome this kind of mental problems. I for one, will have also have to go to this kind of unpleasant feeling. But I have to fight it out because I know that I have work to do the next morning. So I just usually play on weekends so that even If I don't feel like going out of bed early morning, it will be just ok on my end and my job are not going to be affected.

It might be manageable if you're winning, but the harsh reality is often quite the opposite. Even when we do win, we tend to spend most of our winnings, so we don't treat it as business money. This leaves us in a precarious situation when we lose because the money we initially budgeted for our families gets diverted to cover unexpected gambling-related expenses.

I'd like to hear from those of you who have experienced this or are still dealing with it. Please share your testimonies.

Totally just that common sense that you would really be needing to avoid on doing gambling when you are at work on which it would really be making out effects on your work efficiency and could possibly be giving that kind of risks on losing that job once you do mess up with your job. This is why its never been that ideal on doing such thing when you are at work but if you are already off duty then this is the only time that you should really be playing.So far i havent really been able to play gambling when im at work since which i do have that field type of work on which i dont really have that moment or vacant for me to do so.If im really that
been put up on office work type then i might really be that ending up on playing but it does really depend yet there are office works which wouldnt really be giving out that play window.

Its not really that bad to gamble as long you do know on how to do it on  the right time or simply doesnt compromise your job or work then its really just fine. Also dont make yourself
to be get caught with your boss because playing at work is never been acceptable or something that really be allowed or tolerated.This is why you should really

I'm the only one that can narrates how much energy I've put in before getting this job, then swinging it away due to distraction is not an option. When it's time for work, 100% concentration is on work because it's definitely what settle my bills and make me comfortable in my current state. Gambling just serves as an extra activity inother to fit in free time, we are present to face the joys and sadness of life.
Money compromise on gambling, ofcourse this doesn't always end up good because we record heavy lidded, perhaps not everyone hare opportune to grab their enormous winnings on first wagering, we have what we call beginner's luck, which deviates as time goes on.

There probably isn't a good reason that you're gambling within work time and it's probably signalling that you have an addiction if you cannot keep it until out of your work hours. While it is humorous to pretend you are getting paid to play games, it can put you in the wrong mindset and if you're not careful can lead to you losing your job. Some people don't realize that things like Wifi connections might be tracked and monitored, leading to your boss finding out which websites you've been on - if you're connected to the wifi that is. In certain trades which have large gaps of time available, I can see why some people end up doing it, but you'd be better off finding free games to play if you enjoy your bank balance going up instead of down.

Let's say you work for a company that every customer pays cash directly to you(as the cashier), if you can't control your gambling habit, there's every tendency that you'd fund your casino wallet with the company's cash to wager on a so-called sure prediction, with the hope of replacing it before making the normal day's returns...
Unfortunately, such huge risk ain't even Worth taking since it'll definitely end up in big chaos... I cannot rely that much on anything that can possibly be predicted.

The primary rule is never bet with the money which you can't afford to lose, in reality people ignore it and face the consequences.

I manage my finance well and I don't gamble a lot so whoever is gambling with their salary and don't have any other source of income just don't gamble at all or at least limit your gambling budget to be 5% of your net salary per month, so this will give you an idea about when to stop betting especially when you are losing.

Gambling on a mobile cant be that rare nowadays so its a given it will happen in work at least sometimes.  I'd say no personally as I find it too distracting however I would certainly read the sports pages and discussions on bet potential.  So its slightly hypocritical of me to say I never bet when actually I'm thinking about betting, placing down a bet on break is about the furthest I think its safest to go without the habit becoming a problem of interference and distraction.   Also its bad voodoo, earn money in work not spend it :p

I will have to spend all my wages gambling and in the end, I was left with little or no stipend to take care of my basic needs. Psychologically you won't be balanced at all. If you enter a casino with this mindset it's important to realize that you're likely to lose easily either today if not then the next day. And chasing losses can make it even worse which going to prevent you from retaining any of your money (you won’t keep any penny in your pocket) as long as you believe you can recover all you losses if you keep playing more rounds.

Personally, I did gamble while I was studying but my primary goal was to pass the free time and not get bored. I never had the expectation in my mind of winning or increasing my initial betting money. Once I made a deposit into my account I considered it already gone so when I win something I really enjoy it.
