The main point is that no one can decide the correct way to buy or sell. Even the pro or experienced investor face difficulties to chose but they still manages to earn due to their experience and strategies. Anyways experience and strategies can't save you from lose but will help to control much of your lose.
You are talking about trading mindset here. For your convenience, I would like to say that this is not a trading thread, but rather a thread related to long-term investment. Strategy and experience in long-term Bitcoin investment cannot make you profitable, rather experience and strategy can make your investment journey easier.

Quote
Anyway the best time to buy is when the market goes down but don't be greedy to wait for the market to get more lower ( remember you should study about the market to get some information ).
You should always remember that there is no specific best time to buy Bitcoin, whenever you buy is the best time. If you plan to invest for the long term and want to adopt DCA strategy, then you will not need any complex research about the market.

Quote
And sell when you think that markets is getting down.
Change your trading mindset and start planning for long-term holding. I would suggest, read more about long-term investment. In long-term investment, the market never tells you the time to buy and sell.

Newbies who are encouraged or advised to buy the dip whose Bitcoin accumulation starting time is just delayed are even lucky because the encouragement or advice to buy the dip can become a total discouragement. While waiting for these perfect buying time, something can come up that may warrant them using up this funds because Bitcoin investment through waiting for the dip will look not real to them and so discouraging. A newbie doesn't need this encouragement that can turn to discouragement.
Guy I find it difficult to understand the point you're trying to make, cause I don't know how encouraging you think that it is, for newbies to buy the dip, what does an intending investor got to do with buying the dip, people keep talking about perfect time, does such exist? Maybe you were trying to make good points but the way you put it make everything very confusing for everyone, what I know is that, the perfect time for any potential investor or anyone to invest in Bitcoin is when they have figure out their discretionary income, the availability of discretionary income at any point in time should be the starting point for newbies Bitcoin investment journey, not buying the dip.

People often think that if they only buy dips they stand a better chance of making more profits because they’re buying cheaper but what they don’t know is they also miss several opportunities while waiting for the dip and sometimes they miss the dip because they may have a desired price which market didn’t get to and reversed.
It’s quite easy to invest in bitcoin and be successful. Figure out your discretionary, using the DCA invest regularly consistently and as aggressively as possible. Be patient and disciplined.

You can always buy bitcoin, not considering buying the dip, you don’t have to wait before buying bitcoin, you can alway buy bitcoin when you have a discretionary income, well I don’t know if you’ve heard about the DCA techniques, you can always buy bitcoin through the DCA little by little, you don’t have to buy in bulk amount, but if you have money to buy in bulk you can buy through the lump sum, but considering that you don’t have a certain percentage of money to buy through the lump sum, you still have DCA which is more sustainable for low income earners, and we plebs would always want to buy bitcoin consistently while using the DCA to buy in an affordable techniques. Applying a waiting strategy of buying the dip would definitely lead to missing out on good opportunities of having more bitcoin in our possession.

People like @Awaisjanizz11 have been fucking around with shitcoins for the longest. So they bring that same mindset to Bitcoin too, hoping to make quick profits; which of course will eventually look cheap if Bitcoin performs well in the future.

No matter how you try to convince them to stop chasing quick profit and focus on building their portfolio over time, they will never listen. Their mindset is too shallow to look at the bigger picture. So since they refused to learn from the discussions here and change mindset, leave them to wallow in their ignorance. But they shouldn’t come to investment threads like this to mislead other folks.

You said not one can decide the correct way to buy Bitcoin but you said the best time to buy Bitcoin is during the dip, if so that means you are equally saying that buy the dip is the correct way to buy Bitcoin. But how can that be through for a newbie who can use DCA strategy and can still buy the dip.
Wait a bit, I guess you are as well trying to advice traders? If that's the case, make your point very simple and clear that you are advising traders on when to buy and when to sell don't make it a general talk to avoid deceiving or confusing newbies.

I agree that waiting for the price to drop could mean missing out on opportunities. However, I disagree with the decision to buy as aggressively as possible from there. Because buying regularly and allocating more are not the same thing. One person can invest a large part of their financial capacity by buying small amounts every week. Another may buy more than that and have enough cash security. So whether they buy regularly or how much they buy, it is not enough to understand whether their allocation is appropriate. Even after meeting all necessary expenses, not all of the money left is for Bitcoin. Because from there you also have to make provisions for safety savings and your personal discretionary expenses. Yes, if someone already has enough savings, they may have the opportunity to allocate more. The same advice can create pressure for someone who is building a new safety or emergency fund.

Your comment is completely trading-centric, we discuss long-term investments in this thread, so do not mislead anyone by asking them to do short-term investments or trading. Trading is very risky and the possibility of losing your money is very high, do not put that person in the middle of risk by asking someone to trade and try to stay away from this risky path yourself.

There is no specific time to invest and buy, every time is the right time to buy. An investor's goal is long-term, a person who sells before the end of the period is never a long-term investor but a gambler in the name of an investor. For a person, using the DCA method to continue buying continuously is the best decision.

You’re just starting and you’re already lecturing people here how to buy and sell bitcoin instead of trying to learn. Don’t be confused, are you investing or you’re trading because from the statement you’re putting out here everything smells a traders mindset about you which as a newbie shouldn’t be the way to start your bitcoin journey. It’s better you look elsewhere with such mindset and not here. Save yourself the stress of trying to study the market and focus on figuring out a discretionary income and use the DCA to enable you buy bitcoin at any market price. The best time to buy bitcoin is when you have a discretionary income, buying when the market is down is a trader’s mindset looking for quick profit which is a wrong approach towards bitcoin investment because you can be waiting for the market to go down and at the end it doesn’t work as the market is very unpredictable. Waiting for a dip you’re not sure of when it will happen is retarded.

I don’t know what you understand from buy aggressively as possible that you’ll disagree with. I didn’t say always invest aggressively or suggest that one should buy beyond their means.
Investing regularly is good but you can not really accumulate much by buying whimply, so as much as your financial situation can carry, an investor should always try to be as aggressive as he can be. I can’t determine that so each investor can decide how aggressive they can be so long as they don’t go over board.
I don’t know what you thought I was saying that you’re disagreeing.

It is mostly those that are after quick profit that will wait for the price of bitcoin to fall before they can buy bitcoin. However, it is not possible for anyone to be able to predict correctly the price of bitcoin. For someone that is using DCA strategy to accumulate bitcoin, they don't have to wait for the price to be low before they can start accumulating bitcoin. They can buy at any price and this won't affect them since the DCA strategy involves buying of bitcoin at different prices. The most important is to be consistent with bitcoin accumulation and not to be waiting for a favourable price. Using DCA strategy will definitely save you the stress of always trying to time the market to buy at a low price.

The main point is that no one can decide the correct way to buy or sell. Even the pro or experienced investor face difficulties to chose but they still manages to earn due to their experience and strategies. Anyways experience and strategies can't save you from lose but will help to control much of your lose. Anyway the best time to buy is when the market goes down but don't be greedy to wait for the market to get more lower ( remember you should study about the market to get some information ). And sell when you think that markets is getting down.

How about you quit with this your confusion you are trying to bring up here man. The best time to buy and get the fuck started is when person have discretionary income. You are no soothsayer that can tell when the price will drop, then why do you have to wait for the price huh?

Imo, it is still a sign of greed even if you wait for the price to drop a bit before you start buying. And doing that shows that the person is dumb enough to even think that timing the market is possible. If your plan is to ongoing Bitcoin for long time, then it is more productive for you to start immediately you have your discretionary income instead of waiting and predicting the market.

When you keep on buying ongoingly, person can be able to build up their stash regardless of the market highs or low. And while buying this way you will even later get some at discounts when the price goes down in the bear market.

Long term investors can find a steady investment approach such as DCa to be extremely advantageous. It prevents you from entering and exiting the market at the exact right moment and eliminates the emotional aspect of reacting to price changes.
By following the DCA strategy, one gets the opportunity to buy in small amounts according to one's ability. Even if one starts small and buys regularly, people gradually understand how stable they can be when the price falls and whether they deviate from their plan when the price rises. However, it is not that easy to completely remove emotions when the price falls. By following the DCA method, you may not have to worry about the time to buy, but fear, greed, impatience or the tendency to suddenly sell does not end on its own. If someone invests beyond their ability and does not keep an emergency fund, then even after doing regular DCA, they may be forced to sell or if the market is down, they may be pressured to sell. Then the problem is not DCA but the weakness of the plan.

That is why it is advised to first separate all your necessary expenses and then make regular purchases from the discretionary income part and at the same time pay attention to the emergency fund.
Create an investment plan that can be followed not only when the market is performing well but also during market downturns without compromising your financial situation. While market fluctuations are beyond our control our spending habits, the amount we invest and our consistency remain within our control.
You are right about sticking to your plan even when the price drops. I will make another distinction. Changing your purchase amount out of fear when the price drops is not the same as changing your purchase amount because your financial situation has changed.

You may have set a weekly purchase amount based on your income and expenses. But later your income decreased or your family's essential expenses increased. If you think that maintaining the previous amount will be discipline, you are wrong rather, it can be a source of stress. Reducing the amount or stopping new purchases for some time can actually protect your ability to hold the bitcoins you previously purchased. Although expenses, allocation, and continuity are somewhat under our control, not all changes in expenses or income are under our control. Therefore, the plan should include not only how much money to buy, but also under what circumstances we will recalculate the amount.

That really a misleading statement, you are practically advising newbies to buy during the dip. The best time to buy bitcoin is when you have your discretionary income available, as soon as you have that you can begin your investment with the DCA strategy. Waiting for the Dip could take forever and a person could lose the opportunity to invest in bitcoin, so instead of waiting, you can start buying  with the little discretionary income you have.

Bitcoin investment is never meant to be delay, a lot of people end ups not even investing in bitcoin again because they were waiting for a Dip. Bitcoin is volatile and waiting for the dip is like a gamble. So it better to start building your portfolio with what your have through DCA.

Buying the dip with your available discretionary income is not a bad idea to newbies if they are not waiting for it, so it is wrong to make it look like it's a bad practice. What I know that is wrong is when an investor wait for it before buying, that is what I think is bad, because he is going to miss some good buying opportunities, since the market is most times unpredictable.

The dca accumulating strategy remains the best, because your are going to buy at every price interval and even the deeper part of the dip, since you will be buying without looking at the price, once your discretionary income is available. So with that, you can build a valuable stash of bitcoin faster than someone that is waiting for the dip before buying.

You have been registered on the forum since 2021 you have literally spent 5 years on the forum and I expect you to know alot about bitcoin investment the best strategy to invest with, but it is really so hilarious to see that the only strategy that you could recommend to beginners is buying the dip strategy. And it shows that you have not been following up with the discussion. Even though a beginner would buy the dip but they should not anticipate that rather, what they are supposed to do in that initial time is to adopt the DCA strategy maybe on the process of making their regular bitcoin purchase they will surely meet the opportunity to buy the dip rather than waiting for dip that they can't possibly predict when it will happen.

Well I agree with this distinction. Changing the amount of your  due to fear is entirely different from adjusting your investment amount because of a genuine change in your financial situation. In my view discipline does not mean investing the same amount regardless of the circumstances rather it means maintaining a long term plan that remains aligned with your current financial reality

A sustainable Bitcoin investment plan should be built using only the funds that remain after covering essential living expenses, family obligations, and emergency savings. Things don't always stay the same  your salary could drop you may lose your job or perhaps there might be unforeseen expenses. Under those circumstances it's entirely appropriate to either decrease the DCA or temporarily halt it all together. What counts is to make sure your family's needs come first and that you are secure financially. So there is no point in getting your finances in a bind only to buy a certain amount of Bitcoin each month.

The purpose of investing in Bitcoin should be to accumulate wealth for the future, not make your present life difficult. When this is settled you can continue your DCA as you can afford to fund. Investing regularly is key but not at the cost of caring for your family or yourself.

There is a compelling argument for long-term holding, particularly when purchasing with funds that won't be required for regular expenses or emergencies. Long-term savings even lessens recurrent buying and selling errors and helps the investor avoid minor market swings. But an investor shouldn't get too excited about claiming that he will turn a profit if he holds for the long run. Once more, it can be dangerous to assume that the future will be the same as the past.

Bitcoin might be profitable in the long run, but no investment is guaranteed. Even with a long-term perspective, someone who does not have emergency funds and purchased with money for necessities may be compelled to sell in the middle. Then his own lack of preparation is just as much to blame as the market.

I think there are actually two types of dip buyers:

*.The waiters who would prefer to hold their money and waits for bitcoin to reach one particular price before they can buy it, these are the ones who think the bitcoin market is their playground and it’s always gonna be sunshine and roses for them and then end up getting left behind when the price reverses and rises back.

*.The persistent ones who continue to accumulate bitcoin regularly but also take advantage of price dips when they have extra funds available to them.
These ones are not depending entirely on the market reaching a particular price before they can start to buy and this allows them to maintain their accumulation while taking advantage of opportunities that may arise

Any sensible person would know that the second approach is the best one to take, cos why wait and miss out on opportunities?

What's your take on this? Given the period we're in is it buy time or sell time?

I want to believe that you are referring to bitcoin. Therefore, if you think long term, you are in the buy and hold period. If you think short term you are in the panic and sell period.

This is the best way I can think of it.
Think long-term, stay patient, and don’t let fear dictate your decisions.”

It is not that an old person will know all the rules, but the one who gives time to this forum and follows the right rules will be able to keep his Bitcoin holding for a long time in the future. You see, many people in this forum have invested in Bitcoin for a long time, but a few members follow the rules and the rest may not follow the rules completely. So not every person will be able to achieve success, a few people will achieve complete success, so at present if you follow DCA regularly weekly, then it will definitely be possible to keep your Bitcoin investment for a long time.
And besides, you will form an emergency fund, only by following these strategies can you achieve success.
