Patience and discipline are essential attributes necessary for a successful investment. Any good investor needs to have these characteristics accompanied with a good practice that they can be consistent in.
Sustainability is far better than going over aggressive and investing beyond ones means. There’s no need to buy with more than your discretionary income because you’ll only be putting unnecessary pressure on yourself and your investment.

The problem is that people tends to underestimate the power of small growth or tiny growth, this growth may look ineffective or not reasonable but trust me if someone keep on doing that particular thing for a long period of time the result will be massive and it will look like overnight success. Using a huge amount money outside our discretionary is very wrong and sometimes people like to seek for validation but it is pointless because it's what you can not afford, you don't have the capacity.

You are right, some may consider discretionary income insignificant because of the small amount, but many do not believe or are confident that a large holding can be built up as you gradually accumulate Bitcoin. You have to be patient, small power will gradually transform into big power and you will consider this disciplined investment period you have built as your time of success in the future.
Most of our mistakes come from the mentality of following others but we should build investments according to our own financial capabilities. Determine the amount of money in Bitcoin investment through discretionary income not by following others or to show anyone.

People often underestimate the power of small but consistent investments. If someone had deposited just $5 a month in Bitcoin from their pocket money since 2017, their total investment in nine years would have been about $540, while if someone deposited $5 a week, it would have been about $2160, which the person would never have been able to invest all at once. So this example shows that it is not always necessary to have a large amount to start, but consistency and patience are important.

However, the actual value of Bitcoin will depend on the market price. It is not necessary to invest a large sum of money from the beginning to deposit in Bitcoin. The important thing is to develop a sustainable habit and maintain it over the long term. However, one should never compromise financial stability in order to maintain consistency. It is better to deposit Bitcoin gradually from your own extra money than to invest beyond your means and put yourself in unnecessary financial stress. Long-term success does not depend on how much money you invest today, but on how consistently you can maintain your strategy.

This your example is unreasonable and not encouraging at all, because you're assuming that a person will continue buying $5 btc per week or month for 9 years without increasing the amount at any point. What if the person financial situation improves along the way and he can afford to increase his regular purchases? Obviously your example didn’t consider the possibility of that.

There are folks that start with small amount and become more aggressive as their income improves. Some even buy more bitcoin occasionally during dips while maintaining their regular buying plan. These things can affect how mucj bitcoin one accumulate over the years. That is why I said your example is unreasonable to explain how long term accumulation works for small investors. If you’re making example, it should be realistic and consider how one financial situations can change over time. Because you started with a small amount does not mean you must continue using that same small amount throughout your holding period.

Yes, I completely agree with you, but you forgot to mention one thing, that is an emergency fund to protect your investment. It is not enough to invest, but an emergency fund is very necessary to protect your investment. During investment, we face many types of financial crises such as medical expenses, job loss, weekly or monthly extra expenses, etc. It is mandatory to have an emergency fund so that our holdings do not get stressed during all these unexpected financial crises.

I think you are mistaken with the placement of emergency funds for investment because in financial conditions emergency funds are actually not very suitable to be used as investment funds but the function of this emergency fund is more suitable to anticipate needs that may be unexpected such as when you need funds for any repairs (such as houses, cars or others) so making emergency funds as a focus for investment is clearly a mistake even though it may return to yourself.

Investment funds and emergency funds must be separate for whatever reason so that when you have discretionary funds from monthly income, as much as possible we divide it into several things including for investments and emergency funds (although emergency funds are flexible especially when we have saved emergency funds for several months before).
I agree that emergency funds should not be used for investments. However, you are wrong in that @Tongly did not actually recommend buying Bitcoin with emergency funds in his statement. His main point was that it is necessary to keep separate money so that you do not have to sell Bitcoin in case of unexpected expenses. In this system, emergency funds protect investments, although the money is not in the investment.

Again, once a few months of expenses accumulate, the emergency fund is no longer suitable for other purposes. The amount of money that is set aside for emergency needs is its job to handle that need. If your money is more than the necessary protection, then you can consider it as a separate reserve money. Then the decision on its use will also be different.

This argument is completely unnecessary because it has been established that the right approach is to invest from the discretionary income.  Any investmemt done within the confine of the discretionary income will surely not put the investor into any form of financial stress or lead to unplanned liquidation because the investor would have figured out how much to invest to meet his accumulation target and also how mucb to set aside as discretionary income to be able to protect the investment.

Furthermore,  there is no universally accepted amount of money that an investor should invest because income classes differs but what is most important is putting what will enable the investor meet his target over a certain period of time in years. An investor putting $10 per week and that being what he can afford to comfortable invest is not doing too bad just like another investing $1000 per week. Just fogure out which one you belong to and what you want to achieve.

(although emergency funds are flexible especially when we have saved emergency funds for several months before).

This statement of yours is misleading and should not be taken serious because emergency funds is not flexible as you are proclaiming, but rather it is strictly for only emergency situation that threatens your Bitcoin holdings.

What you can call flexible is a reserve funds that can be used for anything that can bring to the growth of your Bitcoin investment, but you see emergency funds, it is not flexible, it is only meant for real life emergencies that may have compel you to temper with your Bitcoin investment.
I agree with u that emergency funds are not flexible it should be use in emergency time not use for investments and unnecessary expences. And i also like the idea of yours of having a separate reserve fund.because it can give u an opportunity to take advantage of bitcoin dips. The main point in this that we should never put our self in situation where we are force for selling bitcoin in loss.

I think when you set your emergency funds and reserve funds right you will hardly face a time to see prematurely. The main essence of emergency funds is to be their for us in times of emergency situations, while reserve funds is to be there to boost our emergency funds if the need arises and also help in aggressive buying of bitcoin if the need arise also.

So we should all know that the emergency funds in particular can’t be used for anything else expect it main purpose. The reserve funds can be more flexible and can be use for other things.

Why are you confusing yourself and contradicting what you said in the first paragraph with your last paragraph. Your whole point now is a mess. You have the wrong idea of what counts as emergency; house or car repairs may be unexpected but they may not really be an emergency situation atleast not in all cases because you can afford to defer to a later date. But health situations, loss of jobs(income), and other expenses you can’t afford to defer are what you set out your emergency funds for. It is not flexible that you can use it to invest or do any other thing, if you’ve built enough backup that you have reserve funds then that’s the flexible fund you can use to invest or buy the dip.

I also agree on this ,emergency funds as the name implies is best use when their is a serious situation on your portfolio not using it to invest, you can't use it to invest because if you use an emergency funds to invest what then happens when an investor is having a hard time which funds can he use to solve the situation, that means he has fault in his investment and can never be fixed, because he has used the emergency funds for something else that means he has to face the rote of his or her tailed calculations, in other words emergency funds shouldn't be use for anything except emergency as the name implies.
