Patience and discipline are essential attributes necessary for a successful investment. Any good investor needs to have these characteristics accompanied with a good practice that they can be consistent in. Sustainability is far better than going over aggressive and investing beyond ones means. There’s no need to buy with more than your discretionary income because you’ll only be putting unnecessary pressure on yourself and your investment.
The problem is that people tends to underestimate the power of small growth or tiny growth, this growth may look ineffective or not reasonable but trust me if someone keep on doing that particular thing for a long period of time the result will be massive and it will look like overnight success. Using a huge amount money outside our discretionary is very wrong and sometimes people like to seek for validation but it is pointless because it's what you can not afford, you don't have the capacity.

You are right, some may consider discretionary income insignificant because of the small amount, but many do not believe or are confident that a large holding can be built up as you gradually accumulate Bitcoin. You have to be patient, small power will gradually transform into big power and you will consider this disciplined investment period you have built as your time of success in the future. Most of our mistakes come from the mentality of following others but we should build investments according to our own financial capabilities. Determine the amount of money in Bitcoin investment through discretionary income not by following others or to show anyone.

People often underestimate the power of small but consistent investments. If someone had deposited just $5 a month in Bitcoin from their pocket money since 2017, their total investment in nine years would have been about $540, while if someone deposited $5 a week, it would have been about $2160, which the person would never have been able to invest all at once. So this example shows that it is not always necessary to have a large amount to start, but consistency and patience are important. However, the actual value of Bitcoin will depend on the market price. It is not necessary to invest a large sum of money from the beginning to deposit in Bitcoin. The important thing is to develop a sustainable habit and maintain it over the long term. However, one should never compromise financial stability in order to maintain consistency. It is better to deposit Bitcoin gradually from your own extra money than to invest beyond your means and put yourself in unnecessary financial stress. Long-term success does not depend on how much money you invest today, but on how consistently you can maintain your strategy.

This your example is unreasonable and not encouraging at all, because you're assuming that a person will continue buying $5 btc per week or month for 9 years without increasing the amount at any point. What if the person financial situation improves along the way and he can afford to increase his regular purchases? Obviously your example didn’t consider the possibility of that. There are folks that start with small amount and become more aggressive as their income improves. Some even buy more bitcoin occasionally during dips while maintaining their regular buying plan. These things can affect how mucj bitcoin one accumulate over the years. That is why I said your example is unreasonable to explain how long term accumulation works for small investors. If you’re making example, it should be realistic and consider how one financial situations can change over time. Because you started with a small amount does not mean you must continue using that same small amount throughout your holding period.

Yes, I completely agree with you, but you forgot to mention one thing, that is an emergency fund to protect your investment. It is not enough to invest, but an emergency fund is very necessary to protect your investment. During investment, we face many types of financial crises such as medical expenses, job loss, weekly or monthly extra expenses, etc. It is mandatory to have an emergency fund so that our holdings do not get stressed during all these unexpected financial crises.
I think you are mistaken with the placement of emergency funds for investment because in financial conditions emergency funds are actually not very suitable to be used as investment funds but the function of this emergency fund is more suitable to anticipate needs that may be unexpected such as when you need funds for any repairs (such as houses, cars or others) so making emergency funds as a focus for investment is clearly a mistake even though it may return to yourself. Investment funds and emergency funds must be separate for whatever reason so that when you have discretionary funds from monthly income, as much as possible we divide it into several things including for investments and emergency funds (although emergency funds are flexible especially when we have saved emergency funds for several months before). I agree that emergency funds should not be used for investments. However, you are wrong in that @Tongly did not actually recommend buying Bitcoin with emergency funds in his statement. His main point was that it is necessary to keep separate money so that you do not have to sell Bitcoin in case of unexpected expenses. In this system, emergency funds protect investments, although the money is not in the investment. Again, once a few months of expenses accumulate, the emergency fund is no longer suitable for other purposes. The amount of money that is set aside for emergency needs is its job to handle that need. If your money is more than the necessary protection, then you can consider it as a separate reserve money. Then the decision on its use will also be different.

What if the person financial situation improves along the way and he can afford to increase his regular purchases? Obviously your example didn’t consider the possibility of that. This argument is completely unnecessary because it has been established that the right approach is to invest from the discretionary income. Any investmemt done within the confine of the discretionary income will surely not put the investor into any form of financial stress or lead to unplanned liquidation because the investor would have figured out how much to invest to meet his accumulation target and also how mucb to set aside as discretionary income to be able to protect the investment. Furthermore, there is no universally accepted amount of money that an investor should invest because income classes differs but what is most important is putting what will enable the investor meet his target over a certain period of time in years. An investor putting $10 per week and that being what he can afford to comfortable invest is not doing too bad just like another investing $1000 per week. Just fogure out which one you belong to and what you want to achieve.

(although emergency funds are flexible especially when we have saved emergency funds for several months before).
This statement of yours is misleading and should not be taken serious because emergency funds is not flexible as you are proclaiming, but rather it is strictly for only emergency situation that threatens your Bitcoin holdings. What you can call flexible is a reserve funds that can be used for anything that can bring to the growth of your Bitcoin investment, but you see emergency funds, it is not flexible, it is only meant for real life emergencies that may have compel you to temper with your Bitcoin investment. I agree with u that emergency funds are not flexible it should be use in emergency time not use for investments and unnecessary expences. And i also like the idea of yours of having a separate reserve fund.because it can give u an opportunity to take advantage of bitcoin dips. The main point in this that we should never put our self in situation where we are force for selling bitcoin in loss.

I think when you set your emergency funds and reserve funds right you will hardly face a time to see prematurely. The main essence of emergency funds is to be their for us in times of emergency situations, while reserve funds is to be there to boost our emergency funds if the need arises and also help in aggressive buying of bitcoin if the need arise also. So we should all know that the emergency funds in particular can’t be used for anything else expect it main purpose. The reserve funds can be more flexible and can be use for other things.

Why are you confusing yourself and contradicting what you said in the first paragraph with your last paragraph. Your whole point now is a mess. You have the wrong idea of what counts as emergency; house or car repairs may be unexpected but they may not really be an emergency situation atleast not in all cases because you can afford to defer to a later date. But health situations, loss of jobs(income), and other expenses you can’t afford to defer are what you set out your emergency funds for. It is not flexible that you can use it to invest or do any other thing, if you’ve built enough backup that you have reserve funds then that’s the flexible fund you can use to invest or buy the dip.

I also agree on this ,emergency funds as the name implies is best use when their is a serious situation on your portfolio not using it to invest, you can't use it to invest because if you use an emergency funds to invest what then happens when an investor is having a hard time which funds can he use to solve the situation, that means he has fault in his investment and can never be fixed, because he has used the emergency funds for something else that means he has to face the rote of his or her tailed calculations, in other words emergency funds shouldn't be use for anything except emergency as the name implies.

This is a big problem to some persons which they fails to understand, they feel investment is a most that you should start big, yes it is good to start big, but when you don't have the funds for big start up, it is better to start small and grow big than wondering about and looking for big funds until the entire investment period is over, anyway in Bitcoin, the investment period is never over but increase in the market price and that is why Bitcoin investment remains the best in our time that one can invest into since it gives room for smaller investor to invest untill they are stable financially to increase their investment plan, you never can know how powerful this method can be until you adopt DCA strategy.

There is nothing flexible about emergency funds. And it will be dumb to invest with it or use it for any other thing aside from emergency because if you use it for the wrong purpose there will be nothing to use for emergency when it comes up. AFAIK, there is only one reason for emergency funds which is to be used for any kind of emergency that the investor could face while they are ongoingly Investing. Even if the emergency dosen't come in time like person expect, that doesn't make the money available for other purposes. The emergency could still come later and when it does the person might then become interested in using the money. And since we don't know that time it is better to always be prepared for it by always having the emergency funds prepared down, and left unspent till when it is needed.

Ive been hearing about situations where someone buys a coin for a certain rate and not quite long after, the said coin drops in value, or someone sells his coin for a certain rate and then it appreciates just after. What's your take on this? Given the period we're in is it buy time or sell time?
I think that’s one of the biggest challenges with crypto timing the market perfectly is almost impossible. Someone can buy thinking they got a good price, only to see it dip shortly after, while someone else sells and watches it rise right after. That’s why I don’t think it’s wise to make decisions based purely on short-term movements. For me, I’d rather look at the bigger picture and use a disciplined strategy. If the price dips and the fundamentals still make sense, buying gradually can be a good way to take advantage of lower prices instead of trying to guess the exact bottom. At the same time, I wouldn’t blindly say “buy” or “sell” without considering the current price, risk, and how long you’re planning to hold. Yes indeed there's no point perfectly waiting for the dip, you keep buying gradually instead of waiting to only land in regret (had I know), but what you didn't really explain is what you mean by buying Bitcoin gradually without considering Bitcoin price, as long as you keep buying Bitcoin without attention to market price, then it's indirectly pointing or referring to DCA strategy. Howbeit, you didn't directly point to DCA strategy should that be the case then you should have pointed directly to DCA strategy for simple understanding.

but with the record of Bitcoin which we know, the reward for long-term holders has been there, which is why one should not talk about profit first rather concentrate and making efforts to build a bulky portfolio and hodl for a long term, cause without it there's nothing much to expect even though the reward finally comes in the future.
You're right, Bitcoin investment is not guaranteed to get profits easily, but everyone's dream is to get profit in Bitcoin, because that is the reason many people are investing in it, just to get the benefit. Others that invested in Bitcoin at an early stage have already gotten huge profit, and I don't think that will come back like before anymore. Bitcoin won't pump the way it did in the past. In 2013 and 2017, those times, that is when Bitcoin started to become more volatile and make it popular. Those who you will see only mentioning about making profit through Bitcoin investment are not long-term Bitcoin holders, but they have become traders. You should stay away from the advice of such people, Bitcoin investment is definitely profitable in the long term. If you continue to buy Bitcoin regularly and move forward into the future, you will definitely get proof of this. You have invested in Bitcoin and will keep it for a few years. It should have a solid plan, the right plan will definitely lead you to success. Investors always want to be seeing green always, and that is why you will see them talk about profit. If you don't want profit, why will you be holding for a long term. We all invest for long term to reach our target, and that is why we should always use the DCA method to invest in Bitcoin and use discretionary funds, so that any challenges that come up in the market, we won't feel it and regret. No investor needs lose, we all invest in Bitcoin to get profit in the future.
If you buy Bitcoin correctly and hold it for a long time, then of course you will have the opportunity to profit, but you have to use your income wisely when investing in Bitcoin. Then it will be easier to keep your Bitcoin investment for a long time, because the DCA method of investment saves you on the purchase price. Bitcoin investor confidence increases further, making your future journey successful.

Emergency fund is never meant for investing, as the implies it's an amount set aside to solve any emergency situations that you may face during your investment period. It's usually not advised to invest with your emergency fund because it has a purpose to serve which is one of the most important part of investment. Emergency fund plays an important role in an investment that's why no matter what we do we can't we can't invest with it. An investor needs to understand that proper financial management and strategic fund allocation are necessary for long term investment success. It means that you don't just invest without plan, you must understand how to allocate funds in a balanced way by first prioritizing your basic needs before investing, and then setting up back up funds to protect your investment against unexpected occurrences.

When we begin to use our emergency funds for something else then we are putting our investment in jeopardy. Investment is a planned something, we can’t just be doing what we like. All investment have a target, which include a specific accumulation we want to archive in a period of time. Once we begin to mismanage our finance then an investor will definitely not have good investment time. Emergency situation are very likely to happen, in fact, we could hit several emergency situations before we get to our desired target. So if we are using our emergency funds for something else then we will be forced to sell our bitcoin.

They are making the mistake of treating their emergency fund and the only backup fund they can have, some might even only save up for emergency and not keep anything in the reserve which is what will lead to them spending their emergency to do things that don't really qualify as emergencies, this is why if you as an investor already has your emergency fund in place up to like 3 months worth of expenses you should start setting up your reserve fund from the percentage of your discretionary fund that was initially being used to set up your emergency fund, don't immediately start buying bitcoin aggressively with it when you don't have enough backup funds yet as you might end up spending from your emergency fund later. Consider this, I want to change my phone and get a new one, this isn't an emergency, after all I still have a phone that works, I can't replace the phone from my emergency fund, that would be a big mistake, but my reserve fund will ideal to pay for this, the same way it can be used to pay for vacations, holidays and the rest of them, these things have nothing to do with our emergency fund.

If you buy Bitcoin correctly and hold it for a long time, then of course you will have the opportunity to profit, You may or you may not, but I want you to have it in mind that profit is not guarantee in Bitcoin investment, because no one is 100% certain of the future. you have to use your income wisely when investing in Bitcoin. Yes of course, a good money management skills is very important in everyone's life, not just an investor, because if you are reckless with your money, and you spend it anyhow you can never make a plan and achieve the plan because poor spending harbit will spoil everything. Do not forget that it's is when you have a good money management skills you can be able to figure out your discretionary income you can invest with, so it's an important skill every Bitcoin investor must have, in other to successfully build a huge stash of Bitcoin.

If you continue to buy Bitcoin regularly and move forward into the future, you will definitely get proof of this. You have invested in Bitcoin and will keep it for a few years. It should have a solid plan, the right plan will definitely lead you to success.
Your statement is confusing, so you mean if I mention profits while investing, I am automatically a trader? You are sounding as if the reason why you invested in bitcoin isn't for profits. Be honest here, if profits is remove from bitcoin, would you invest in bitcoin? I believe you would, and neither would most investors. So don't make it look as if profits in bitcoin is a bad thing because that's the main reason most of us invested in bitcoin. There is no guarantee that you'll be successful in the long-term, so don't even go there because that is misleading. Since no one is certain about the future or knows what will happen the next minutes, your investment in bitcoin can't be guaranteed. Which is the reason why you should invest only your discretionary income. If you invest outside of your discretionary income you are gambling with your bitcoin investment.

You are right, emergency fund should always treated as money saved for unexpected situation, it not meant for investment. because if investor mistakenly use emergency fund to buy more bitcoin, it may cause distraction to their long term plan whenever emergency happen. Emergency should always saved for emergency situations, because no one knows what tomorrow will bring and emergency can happen at anytime. If investor eventually tied up all is money into bitcoin, they may be forced to sell your bitcoin when emergency happen and that is against rules of long term investment, keeping emergency funds aside is very important instead of investing everything.
