I always use a VPN when I access Whale, and not only this casino but any casino in general, because without it my access is restricted. I have never had any issues with withdrawals from Whale, although my winnings have never exceeded 270 USDC, and that is hardly an amount the casino would be interested in blocking. But overall, I see the possibility of blocking withdrawals due to VPN use as a one-sided privilege. Playing and losing money in the casino while using a VPN is not a problem at all and is fully allowed. The casino, in this way, gets more users. Meanwhile, withdrawals can be suspended for the very same reason. No, unfortunately, this assumption is incorrect. Some time ago, there was even a case in Scam Accusations here in the forum where a payout was refused for this reason.

It is not your citizenship that counts, but solely the location from which you log in. For example, if you are an American citizen, you are normally not allowed to play on certain platforms. However, if you move to South Africa, for example, and log in from there, you can access the website because you have an IP address from a country that is allowed to access it.

Apparently, if your Whale.io account has 2FA TOTP enabled and you lose access to 2FA, there's no way to get it back, access to that account is lost. According to support (translated statements from support below in the images below).

I saved a backup of the 2FA key in my password manager (Keepass), but unfortunately, days later the encrypted database (where the passwords are saved) was corrupted. I had made backups, but these backups were made before I registered the TOTP access key to Whale.io.

Sometimes, when something is meant to go wrong, it seems like it will go wrong no matter what.

The reasons I mentioned were repeatedly cited as to why this was not allowed: the inability to verify whether someone was accessing the site from a country on the list of banned countries.

So as long as a platform does not explicitly allow the use of VPNs for its customers, I would not do so – provided that I plan to withdraw larger amounts from the platform in the future.
