Actually, the team is in a very bad situation now, they are losing even in a match like this, it is not something to accept. And at the same time, Manchester United played at home, it is very shameful for them to lose 3-2 to Brighton after leading 2-0 at home, it is a disgraceful match. And their previous match was also a disgraceful match, did you see how badly they lost to Manchester City in the Premier League? Now they have lost even worse to Brighton.
Currently, Manchester United is disappointing the fans in every match, I don't know how this bad time will end, the weakness of the team's defense was very high in the last match, and because of this weakness, they lost the match 2-3 despite leading 2-0 at first.

I feel your disappointment, same here but we can't help out as fans, we can only vex and shout, the old glory can't return again to old Trafford,  we all thought Michael Carrick will help Manchester United to regain her glory but he's too calm to manage these squad,  the players are not playing to keep the glory, it was very embarrassing game last night,  two home games and Manchester United has lost the two embarrassingly in front of the fans, imagine have only 4 points from 12 Premier League points this season.  

This season will be a very long season for Manchester United fans, we're back to our struggling season again, I expected this from the transfer window we were busy relaxing when clubs were buying,  we knew wlout defenders are bad yet the management couldn't get us a new defenders. On the other side,Michael Carrick made a mistake by rotating the team and resting some senior players.  I think there was no need for all those changes. I can't wrap up my head over the game, it was so bad.

What of when in trying to rest players it cost you major defeats and knockout from major trophies that will threaten your job, would you say it is a nice strategy to rest players in such instance? It is true that certain clubs rest players for crucial matches but for Man U currently which other match is more crucial than this Carabao cup knowing fully well that it is obvious that they can’t win the Champions league or win the EPL this season, the best they can get in the EPL is struggle for top 4, except that is why they choose to rest players so they can compete for top 4 in the EPL because i don’t see any reason why they should be resting players. Judging from Man U current form it is difficult for them to win either EPL or Champions league this season so to me i didn’t see the need of them resting players.

Well then it’s totally on the coach.. because it’s his decision to make, in a situation like that of the Brighton game it could have been better if he played the main squad since he saw how relentless they were in the match against Chelsea in the Premier League.

Btw even if Manchester United weren’t eliminated yesterday, there isn’t any assurance that they can win this league because Arsenal and Manchester City aren’t going to be sleeping on this trophy either. So right now the best Carrick can do is to focus on rectifying and fixing the problem with the team to start producing good results in both the premier league and the champions league even if they didn’t win any of them, they should atleast have a great season by finishing in the top flight.

How do they even get to qualify for the Champions league with this kind of display. It would’ve been better they didn’t make it to the Champions league because if they continue like this it will be difficult for them to survive and make it out of the champions league group phase. Even though they won their first champions league game already I’m still not convinced because they played against a lowly ranked sabah Fk in Azerbaijan. Squandering a two goal lead to lose at Old Trafford is really not acceptable for a club like Manchester United. Well, everyone here seems to be talking more about man united without also acknowledging Brighton who did a good job. I think Brighton also deserves a huge praise for putting up such a wonderful performance.

It's not just that they are losing, it's about how they are losing. Last night they started the match on top, as far as I was concerned Brighton had all but already lost that match and then for them to have a total turn around to the point where it didn't even end in a draw but in a loss.
This is an obvious recipe for disaster and fans are not happy about it, I was at a viewing centre last night and you could see the disappointment in the air when fans started leaving the place and after all their promises of being in their best this season, it's just sad.

It's so annoying to watch how these players gave up their lead and started playing like mediocre players without any direction on what to do next. The squad is filled with average players. A lot of work is needed to be done.

Rashford should be sold or loan out same as those who are not meeting up to expectations. Brighton will be very happy towards their performance last night because it was an incredible come back.

I think Manchester United has good players, at least good enough players for them to have won against Brighton so it's not really about the players not being good enough or being average but that they aren't being used the right way.
There are club managers that would want someone like Rashford on their team and all the anger aside even you will admit that Rashford is one of the good players in England.
The expectation when Manchester United signed a new manager made it seem like they would beat everyone and now Carrick is carrying all of the blame, rightfully so because he is really ruining the team.

Dude, are you sure you know what you are saying, Manchester united won against Brighton at where? Perhaps you did not watch the game till the end or you didn't bother to check the result after the game ended because if you did you would have known Brighton came back in the second half and win them 2:3 and it was really shameful to see that Manchester united was winning Brighton 2 goals to nothing before 12 minutes of the game and later loss the game. This is pretty clear there's still a big problem in the team.

This could be the Best goal of this campaign. He scored 33 yards from the goal. I'm not sure there is a better goal in the 2026/2027 Carabao Cup campaign.

Liverpool overall had an impressive performance. Mac also scored a banger as well. They should keep up this performance. I expect them to go far in this league.

While a long-range goal resulting in a score is interesting, it isn't exactly an extraordinary goal; in my opinion, the goal scored by Arsenal's Dowman was better.

I find it easier to bet on Liverpool; they both score and concede goals. Liverpool matches are usually high-scoring affairs. If you absolutely have to pick a winner, Arsenal is a logical choice, but when it comes to "Over" bets, I always lean towards Liverpool.

We frequently see plenty of goals, especially in Carabao Cup matches.

Brighton were almost 5/1. And they played so well in the league, United not so much. The signs were there. Old me would have jumped at the odds. I didn't. Wonder what live odds were when Brighton were 2-0 down? Why do I do this to myself? LFC_Bitcoin did the right thing. Stayed away.

The signs were there but then, it was at old trafford so everyone (including bookies) expected them to win especially after that loss to Man city on sunday. As for odds, I saw around 7+ odds when the game was at 1-0 with Man Utd leading. I didn't really check afterwards.

Sorry about your bet. I have man utd on my blacklist so I wasn't bothered today.

Two early goals at first from United, I guess that made them felt relaxed but it wasn't the case for Brighton who got an equalizer and then going ahead for minutes later.

The match was really disappointing for every United fans, another night to lament on their defensive crisis, overall who should be blamed for this ?
Michael Carrick might have put himself in a difficult position when he decided not to get more defensive prowess as addition to the team.

You can't build your front line and midfield while neglecting the defense, no way. When your fron it scoring, the backline should be stopping goals from entering. One of there biggest mistakes is allowing the defense open, and not recruiting strong men to ward off challenges for them when it matters.  The defense was so open that more goals would even enter if they had continued the match.

Arteta had a very solid defense, but seen Saliba having that injury, he went ahead to get a note solid defender, and even if Saliba returns, there is a great chance of substitute for the team. That is what Manchester united lacks. It's really gonna tell on them anytime they face an attacking team.

Those matches are the hottest games to come. Honestly, i think City and Chelsea will win their upcoming games in Carabao cup. City is clearly favorite while Chelsea is underdog, but i don't rate Chelsea as bad as what bookies valued to them.

On other hand, calling Arsenal cheating just because they got easy opponent is out of my mind. Don't you remember when Chelsea was also able to go to the final of FA cup due to easy fixtures.

I think it's just a pure luck by Arsenal's side. There's no cheating here because the fixtures decided by random drawing. When a club in Arsenal's calibre get an opponent that came from nowhere. So just call it as privilege owned by them because their luck is giving them it, yet Arsenal is winning even they play with their B squad.

The strategy of resting players that most managers do is wrong, you can’t talk about tomorrow when you haven’t concluded today yet, managers must learn to win their current matches before thinking of resting players for other future matches, why will Man U be resting players knowing fully well that Brighton can be problematic at times?

You are not in football management so you can't know with certainty if the strategy of resting player is wrong on not. If almost all the coaches do it, that should tell you it is not wrong. There are several reasons coaches rest some key players for crucial matches and I will like to mention just few of them. The first reason is to avoid injuries because if they are injured, they will automatically miss matches. The second is to conserve their energy since players need enough time to recuperate after engaging is competitive football. Another reason may be to avoid them getting cards which can make them miss match. So tell me, are these reasons valid or not?

Someone was daring enough to stake on Brighton to win when they losing 2-1 and he raked it big. I understand why you let such a thing pass you by cause probably you were hoping the Red Devils would bounce back but I guess with Man UTD, every other team are free to record their comebacks, eh.
 The most annoying thing is how Man UTD let their confidence get the better of them and at some point I started believing they had won this and are moving to the next round but football had to pull out one of it's tricks on us and do the unthinkable.

The ex-player curse, which they bought, is here again. As soon as they have to deal with a thick schedule, United discover they're lost at sea. Precisely what most people were saying last season. Any decent team with nothing but the league to focus on should perform -- and they did.

What’s been happening to them all this time is that they haven’t been ready to perform well and win every match. They’ve simply been the subject of media coverage with every result they’ve achieved. At the end of last season, their start was very promising, which led many to call for Carrick to be named the permanent coach. At the start of this season, however, what they had hoped for from Carrick has turned into a major disappointment.

Manchester United’s players have been inconsistent so far this season. Management appears to have met Carrick’s requests regarding player acquisitions, as evidenced by the new signings we’ve seen.
In my view, the crucial issue with their current situation is the players’ mentality.

But sometimes things like this make me a little worried because even though Arsenal have an easier opponent compared to some of the others, Arteta will usually rotate the squad instead of playing his strongest lineup. So Arsenal may still win, but it might not be as easy as we expect.

This is not just a defensive issue for Manchester United, it’s a general problem ranging from the players commitment. Watching the game tonight I saw a team that’s not ready to fight for every loosed  ball and they lost concentration easily because they thought they’re already winning because they’re ahead with 2 goals earlier in the first half forgetting that football last for 90 minutes and until the end of the 90minutes you’re not sure of winning. The inability of the club to sign more of quality and experienced players during the summer transfer window is really affecting the team especially after losing a leader like Casemiro in Midfield without getting to properly find similar replacements. The psychology and mentality of the team needs improvement and I don’t think Michael Carrick is the one to lead this team to Glory.

The whole Manchester United squad are useless. In fact, Manchester United team is a disgrace to football, because tell me how a team will be winning by two goals and bottled the game 2-3? I’m a Manchester United fan, and I have promised myself not to watch their game against this season after what I saw against Hull City. They assumed they had won the game, not knowing that you can never say its over until the final whistle, Brighton surprised them.

Manchester United need to sell their whole squad and bring in some new signings, the current squad has nothing to offer this club. Casemiro was very underrated last season. His absence is currently affecting the team. Micheal Carrick thought, Santos is a good option to replace Casemiro. We thought we have seen it all after the defeat against Manchester City, but this is a disappointing performance from Man United.

You're not the only one who think Arsenal gets lucky with their draws. They got lucky in last season's champions league having easy route to the final, and now again they got Fleetwood, definitely an easy win for them.
I would say Liverpool are not really lucky at all, being paired with Chelsea immediately after Spurs, that's a pretty tough draw for them. I totally understand why you feel bit jealous about Arsenal's draw but Chelsea is not unbeatable, they are also not a perfect team yet so there's a bit of hope for Liverpool, won't be easy though.
