It was a game we all thought will have a lot of games but instead it ended in a 1-1 draw and both goals was scored from the penalty spot. Both team have good chance to win the match in the second half but failed to convert also.

In the shootout again both teams have that chance to win it but they failed to take advantage until Chelsea Fofana skied his penalty. Chelsea should have given everything in this game, they are not playing in the champions league, so we expected them to win this game. Now Chelsea are left in the FA Cup and the premier league.

Hard fought win by Liverpool. Gakpo missed a penalty, whereas he has been the most outstanding player on the field tonight. The penalty was in Chelsea's hands to win, but unfortunately, that young lad missed the chance to win. Liverpool escaped tonight with a lucky win over Chelsea.

Fofana has to take the blame for tonight's loss. He is the one who caused a stupid handball that led to a penalty. In 2026, a pro defender is sticking out his hands when in the 18 yard box. It didn't end there. He had to go ahead to miss his penalty that sent Chelsea back home during penalties.

Chelsea and Liverpool looks like a team that is tired for no reasons, both teams looks like a team that aren’t ready to play this game to win, most especially Liverpool they’re not creating anything in front of goals, but Chelsea seems to be asking all the questions in this game right now, I don’t see any team scoring any goal in this game again, it might go to penalties, Liverpool should be pressing more after making those changes in the game, there is no finisher in this game for Liverpool, Alexander Isak should be brought on in the game, Mac Allister and Isak should be brought on in the last stages of this game, I think if Liverpool are able to bring on Isak he should be winning the game not even thinking about penalties.

I guess it's obvious the Carabao Cup isn't priority for big teams like Liverpool and Chelsea, especially with their busy schedule. It's not just this game either. Man City Haaland didn't even play tonight. Managers tend to rotate their squads and rest key players for more important competitions. Still, both teams should be doing better than this, especially Liverpool who need to create more chances if they want to win the game.

On the bright side, at least there's an EFL Cup game for Cole Palmer to serve his redcard suspension in. lol That means he should still be available for GW9 in the EPL..

Both teams gave themselves an avenue to win the shootout by, simply having to score the next penalty. First was Barco, one would have thought Liverpool would take advantage of that and send the next one in but, Tsimikas skied it anyway. Then came the chance for Chelsea after Gravenberch missed but, once more the chance wasn’t taken and Emegha missed, a very unusual event indeed.

It was an absolutely penalty day in the Liverpool vs Chelsea game. The same guys who scored their regular time PKs also banged in their spot kicks.
AFC Bournemouth I’m most impressed with their performance, they’ve been banging goals in their games and I know most never expected them to be this good, 3;0 against Sturm Graz, AC Milan, Man United and now Aston Villa. Undefeated and not conceded a goal in their last five games  across all competitions.

At this point, Liverpool owned Chelsea because tell me how Chelsea have failed countless times to win Liverpool in tournaments? This is no longer the fierce Chelsea that will be competitive for titles, they're very slow and their performance tonight surprised me because tell me how they're wasting chances against Liverpool. Curiosity made me ask, can this Xabi Alonso be able to defeat a big side? I don't think so because he has failed to win big games this season and weve always been that elite team that's not able to conquer major sides in both the EPL and other major tournaments. Chelsea really need to do better and they need to make more signings because with what I've watched tonight,a lot of work need to be done.

Fofana's plan actually worked out in the end. Throughout this match, down to the penalty shootout, Fofana was an agent for Liverpool. He has been working against his club, Chelsea. I can't think of any time Fofana had a good game for Chelsea. Someone should investigate Fofana.

This match was less of a priority for the two clubs. Because all the goals they scored, even during full time, were from a penalty.

Both teams may have equal strength to an extent but statistically Chelsea did an excellent job in today's game. Among all the games played today, i can boldly say that game was the most competitive one to watch from the beginning till the end. From the first half i thought the game would end in favour of Chelsea, though they had more shots on target and more promising strength with possible hope of victory which later turned negative because of the little mistake made while proving themselves at the penalty shotout. Despite the lost, i will still congratulate Chelsea for an unpredictable performance in today's game.

It's was a funny game, two penalties in the first half that were almost at the same time and then no goal again through out the match, too bad for those who will bet on the game to be over 2.5 because after that first half you would not believe that another goal won't be scored.
The pendulum was swing to both team during the penalty shootout and finally Liverpool took it, Chelsea competition this season is getting smaller I believe it's just the English premier League and The FA cup, so they should take advantage of that and probably win the league.

What has come over Wesley Fofana? He wasn't having a good game tonight against Liverpool and made quite major errors on the pitch and his decision making with the ball was very odd. How come a player like Wesley Fofana who represent Chelsea is playing like an upcoming? All this questions should be put under consideration because tell me what Chelsea is thinking when they didnt sign more back lines for the club?

As it stands, Chelsea is not stable yet and there are still quite asailable spots in the team. Xabi Alonso should figure them out as a professional manager and resolved them without having to waste any more time because Chelsea fans are complaining and the vast numbers have started to lose hope in the manager already.

No Champions League for Chelsea, and now they have been knocked out of the EFL competition and are left in the FA CUP as their only chance to win a trophy. They will not win the Premier League as we already know, so Xabi in other to secure a trophy in his first season needs to try and win that. But the way Xabi the coach is performing, I don't understand because why can he have a player like Estavao in a game and he is choosing Emegha a player that is unknown. We have City and Liverpool who are advancing to the further stage after they beat Brighton and Chelsea through Penalty. It seems to me the winner will bet between these clubs because i don't see any other stronger team than these teams. It's likely final will be City vs Liverpool.
In the next stage, we will have City to face Bradford City while Liverpool faces Bournemouth. It's likely City is gonna go to the final through the easiest way because they face the low tier team.

Apart from that we'll have Everton vs Newcastle to happen soon. Bookies priced Everton 2.33 and Newcastle 3.25. I'm not a fan of doing single sided bet on this game because both of team are equal and it's unpredictable result.

I think BTTS sounds reliable bet to take or total goals over 2.5 seems become alternative. What's your opinion?Which is the best choice to bet?

Seriously this was one of Chelsea’s biggest shot at winning a trophy this season and to be sincere eliminating Liverpool today would have made them closer to the cup. It’s all gone now I hope they can focus on the FA cup but right now needs to focus on the Premier league because I am sure Alonso biggest objective isn’t only Europe next season but most precisely Champions league and If he fails short with Chelsea missing out on it twice in row I do think it might affect his job. Next up his a struggling Manchester United desperate for points.

As for Manchester City I was like was this the night they get knocked out after the game went to penalties because I was seriously rooting for Brighton as at then. Now this Manchester City advancement means they are clear favorites with the gunners out, probably would see a Manchester City vs Liverpool final
