I have a running hallmarked node (vps03.xssqsfu5apuk3zgh.myfritz.net:17774). Unfortunately the node check fails (found, but shown OFFLINE).
Could it be, that the node check not supports non-standard ports (here TCP/17774)?

What's wrong?

Hi, you can not use port 17774. Rest of the p2p network wont be able to talk to you. port 7774 tcp needs to be open.

Sure, sounds like an awesome idea. How would this giveaway be done? Who will recieve them. Who will handle the give away?

Please tell us more ! Smiley

At https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/ you can register an download a client. The client on your computer can be used to donate unused computing power for projects like research for fighting cancer or aids. For that you can earn points.
This points could per example be converted to NHZ with a piece of code that has to be written  Smiley

I wrote them am Mail and asked for the interfaces they use.

Hi,

my node is online  Grin

I like this project and I thought about how we can increase the popularity.

What Do you think, wouldn't it be nice to give away some coins for points in the word computing grid (fighting cancer and aids), like ripple dows with their computing for good.

So we can reach a broader range of people (especially those that have no fixed ip to run an node) to make this coin well-known. WCG can e.g. run in the Background at work...

Greetings from Germany,

Harri

RippleLabs open sourced their WCG give-away software. Maybe you could modify it to work with NHZ.

Dear Prospect, pharesim and cbkr,

Can I please have your NHZ account numbers?
Do you receive same amount of NHZ just like any other of us receiving 666 per day per server? or you are the owners of some of those big whales?

Naming accounts was very good idea but not complete.

You called some accounts bounty1, bounty2, bounty3, bounty4 and bounty5.

That's very good idea but you should let the community know who is responsible for these accounts.

But this is not the end of the story there is lots of other Millioner accounts:

http://explorer.nhzcrypto.org/?page=account&id=9473989027 Balance:   52,751,567 NHZ
http://explorer.nhzcrypto.org/?page=account&id=10213479994452367692 Balance:   4,255,069 NHZ
http://explorer.nhzcrypto.org/?page=account&id=446841167369702212 Balance:   1,445,469 NHZ
http://explorer.nhzcrypto.org/?page=account&id=9307421903608128156 Balance:   3,249,478 NHZ
http://explorer.nhzcrypto.org/?page=account&id=6756539540247114713 Balance:   1,021,940 NHZ

If you cleared these accounts and their holders, then there is a lot of hundred thousands accounts!

I'm not an auditor! I'm a programmer!

But the way you are going is not seems correct!

And you need an auditor to check if all bounties really paid by responsible persons or not?!

I'm sorry but I have not convinced yet!

9307421903608128156 developer account (One uniq person)
10213479994452367692 developer account (One uniq person
446841167369702212 developer account ( One uniq person)
9473989027 founder account (distribution account)

If there are any movements of funds from the developer accounts the funds are still theirs. The reason for the movement has to do with forgeing and let community being able to forge more.

Now. This discussion is over for my part. God speed!

With respect, that is not a good attitude to take IMO. You guys have a good idea here, but you have not specified how the developers are being compensated, and unless you spell this out and make some commitments to stick to what you say regarding NHZ distribution, someone else will come along and do EXACTLY what you are doing, and if they are more open and transparent, everyone interested in setting up nodes will do so with your competitors. It wont take long for other people to launch another NXT clone with a node distribution bot.

The questions sepehr asked have not been answered fully IMO.

If you guys pay yourselves too much I'm not interested in keeping my 10 nodes going, but if it's reasonable I will setup 10 more. What is reasonable you ask? Well, it's your project, so it's up to you guys to work that out asap and let people know, and then it's up to the rest of us to decide if that's fair.

Transparency will make or break NHZ, so the discussion is ongoing. What proportion of the total NHZ coins are going to the developers?

I like this coin and concept and would really like to set up a node in the cloud but not quite sure where to begin...others in this thread have mentioned a cheap ($5/mo) vpn service to do this. Is this through Digital Ocean?

If I were to purchase a plan at Digital Ocean, which would it be and would the previously published NHZ guide to set up a node work when setting up a cloud node? Any step by step assistance would be very helpful.

Thanks a lot!

I'm running NHZ on Digital Ocean and nhz.myAddress is set but I can't reach UI. When I follow https://[DROPLET_IP]:7775/ I'm getting error (connection refused). Also, I tried to change allowedUserHosts to * but no luck. How do I make it reachable from outside?

Try setting uiserverhost to the public ip of your server
If you want to access the admin page too, look for allowedbothosts and apiserverhost.

Personally, I use ssh-tunneling (ssh -L17775:localhost:7775 user@host) to access nodes when necessary. This redirects the remote port 7775 to localhost:17775

My node is well-running and currently it has 55 peers. Using a different port is no problem, if the port is announced (see nhz-default.properties):

# My externally visible IP address or host name, to be announced to peers.
# It can optionally include a port number, which will also be announced to peers,
# and may be different from nhz.peerServerPort (useful if you do port forwarding behind a router).
nhz.myAddress=vps03.xssqsfu5apuk3zgh.myfritz.net:17774

If I go to another node, I can see my node in the peer list...

Unfortunately I'm not convinced and you are not transparent on Bounties paid, to whom paid, and why paid?
Community should know about these.
The Bounty accounts are not your property but these account are the property of community and community should decide to pay from them, or the payment method or processes just like 666/day/server should be clear!

Not clear transactions from bounty accounts assumed not authorized transactions from community account, and will kill the currency very soon!

There are hundreds of dead currencies out there.

Everybody be cautious!! Don't work for someone that is not clear with you and holds the Billionaire accounts for himself while asking you to run his nodes for a tip!!

RippleLabs open sourced their WCG give-away software. Maybe you could modify it to work with NHZ.

https://github.com/ripple/wcg-ripple-giveaway

Yep - I participated in this but Ripple is shutting it down because it's been hacked so some crooks not doing anything for the charities can get some XRP for nothing, I can understand Ripple closing it for this reason and I think its to do with hacking the WCG  stats rather than a bug jn the Ripple giveaway - so if NHZ does this I expect the same exploit will be used - the exploit needs looking into before another coin goes in this direction.

the distribution model seems a bit chaotic.
You guys should write down some rules for bounties stuff.
and what about people who cant run a node?

correctly !

Hello everyone.
I think this is fair. Everyone is able to get nhz. There is the tutorial to run a node. If you want to invest, you have to run the hallmarked node on a vps for example. Nothing is for free in this World, in this business. If you think this project will be successfull and you want to be a part of it, you have to invest your time and money.
I think this idea of node bounty is very cool.

I hope this project will be successfull. Im angry avout the people who think they will get something without doing something.

If you arent able to run a node... (Which is not true)... You have to do something else for the community, for your bounty...

the coin is only for it-profis  Huh   !

I would also like to know about the numerous 100K accounts sepehr mentioned.
What was that paid for and to whom?

dude can you read?
the developer accounts are listed above. all other accounts are bounty accounts as already mentioned.
or people receiving bounties for translations, working on some code, design (biggest non-developer bounty so far), etc.
the extreme envy about amounts in the 100k range is... well.. childish.
no one gets a huge amount of coins for free
we won't release a list of known account holders. where would this lead?
seriously, calm the f* down.
there is still enough bounty for everyone to grab.

Ok, I'm out. You guys are getting hot under the collar at people asking for accountability and transparency. It makes you look really suspect that you are complaining about this (and a little bit naive - come on this is crypto, every second coin is a scam).

How many coins the developers are getting is an obvious question that needs to be answered. I'm calm, so no need to tell me to 'calm the fuck down', but I'm now waiting for a project that reboots this concept - NXT clone with a node payment bot for redistribution - and includes transparency and accountability.

A community will not develop around NHZ without the developers telling people how much you are paying yourselves. Simple, and obvious.

If somebody makes a clone of NHZ post here and interested people will come across.

Ok, I'm out.
Who cares?

How many coins the developers are getting is an obvious question that needs to be answered.
The dev accounts have been mentioned before, we won't write our names behind them. Respect our wish for privacy. Yes, we got a few M each. We have been working hard on this, what did you do except browsing the block explorer we set up?

[...] these account are the property of community [...]
How the hell did you get this idea?

What is reasonable you ask? Well, it's your project, so it's up to you guys to work that out asap and let people know, and then it's up to the rest of us to decide if that's fair.
I already explained our calculation (post #177 afair) - this is also used for our work.

There will be a list on our forum later, divided into dev/long-time and node/community/one-time bounties. As anyone can see on the bounty accounts, there are ~950M left to distribute. No need to panic.

What is reasonable you ask? Well, it's your project, so it's up to you guys to work that out asap and let people know, and then it's up to the rest of us to decide if that's fair.
I already explained our calculation (post #177 afair) - this is also used for our work.

Sorry, nearly missed your post between all the fear-of-coming-short-posts.

The smallest plan on DO is totally sufficient, the guide works fine with it. To connect to localhost you'll need to set it up on your local machine too (or use a ssh tunnel - but for daily use it's better to have a local client anyway)

The dev accounts have been mentioned before, we won't write our names behind them. Respect our wish for privacy. Yes, we got a few M each. We have been working hard on this, what did you do except browsing the block explorer we set up?

Your attitudes have killed a good idea before it had time to work. Someone will do it properly very soon.

To all the people following NXT, if you are a developer, please reboot NHZ and do it properly. Use one account to pay all the nodes, and announce which accounts are developers right at the start. Don't leave it for people to ask questions and give them rude evasive answers. I had 10 nodes but not worth the effort with these guys. They will fail IMO because they don't understand how to build a community from unknown people. You need to be open and honest.

"A few million each". Still evading the question - use numbers, not all the dev accounts were the same amount. Why?.

The successful clone of your idea will specify exact amounts and justify why that is fair. IMO 1 million each up to a total of 10 Million for development & bounties & promotion is justifiable for a basic copy paste of NXT. If this sounds reasonable to any developers send me a PM.

These guys don't like questions. They could have easily made a proper announcement post that spelled everything out at the start.

The people behind NHZ don't like transparency, so they're probably not trustworthy. Too much competition for these guys to survive.
