Bodo/Glimt didn't believe Sporting will score upto three goals. The goals from Sporting starting pumping in from 34' and still Bodo/Glimt felt they had things in control and decided to defend. Their performance improved slightly after the conceded the second goal in 61' and by then it was already late to strategize. Sporting took advantage of Bodo/Glimt strategy as they kept pressurizing their defense line. I mean I couldn't even believe Bodo/Glimt were only able to make 4 shots on target which is very far from their performance in the first leg.

ye i think they took a good beating and weren't able to do better than that, there's no way to recover when you don't expect such a high performance from your opponent and this is what you end up with, the other teams who faced the Bodo certainly underestimated their opponent, and this time they didn't and in fact they attacked right from the start.

That is why it is very wrong for any team to underestimate their opponent especially in this era of football, a lot of surprises happened these days, that is why each match should be played as final and with that you will achieve a very great result. I did not put much concentration on this match because I only consider their involvement in the round of 16 as a lock but in this quarter final even the Sporting will be going home despite i said football is full of surprises but I don't expect any surprises between sporting and Arsenal. Currently Arsenal's performance is excellent and with that I don't see them facing a very huge opponent when it comes to play against sporting.

So many people have pointed Arsenal to be the only one to survive at the moment and the reason was because they are playing against weak team unlike other teams because they are all top teams. It is not going to be easy for Real Madrid for going against Bayern Munich, i don't know maybe before the match real Madrid will fully recover, but right now based on view i choose bayern Munich as the favorite in this particular match.

Bayern Munich look to be a better team with better consistency in this season and Kompany has more experience than Arbeloa as head coaches. However if Arbeloa managed to beat Pep Guardiola in two matches in round of 16, he already got extra experience and gained more confidence for his management job. Kompany is still under Pep Guardiola in management career and capability so he will analyze matches between Real Madrid and Manchester City very carefully. It will be important for his preparation to beat Arbeloa in two quarter finals and generally he and Bayern Munich are better choices in my opinion.

Between Barcelona and Atletico Madrid, we all know what these two teams went through this season when they met, so in that regard I find it difficult to point finger at who to win.

Barcelona are stronger as they lead La Liga in most weeks of this season while Atletico Madrid only compete for top four and currently stand at the third position. However with Simeone, Atletico Madrid have strong mentality as well as smart coach with excellent ideas for beating stronger opponents like Barcelona. They are weaker than Barcelona but they knew how to beat big clubs in this season.

Between PSG and Liverpool, the both teams have equal performance this season, what is just putting PSG at the top was because they don't have strong opponent in that league, so I find it difficult to choose between both of them.

I choose Liverpool as in history, only Real Madrid defended their titles well in Champions League, all other champions failed to do that, and I think PSG will be another champion fails with that task. They and Liverpool are similar in quality and they both don't have good consistency in this season. Based on history of Champions League, I choose Liverpool as the winner and they will join semi finals.

An aggregate of 5-1 is quite convincing for Madrid to advance. Man City can now focus on the EPL.

They are only 4 points, few but they require an important commitment and on top of that they must also match Barcelona's mistakes.

Real Madrid have had a heavy season in every sense, they have had a drastic drop in performances, they have been heavily criticized by everyone and first and foremost by the fans, this is absolutely not a good thing, but despite all the adversity and gritted teeth they are in second place within a stone's throw of Barcelona, they can do it, but they have to believe in it.
Real Madrid has a better squad than Barcelona (not by much) but still Real's squad is truly a bomb (when they have no injuries).

What is expected of Newcastle to shock everyone to win Barcelona, is what has turned into a disgrace for Newcastle. Just in this second half, has Barcelona added 4 goals to the 3 goals they scored in the first half. That means no hope for Newcastle for advancing to the next stage of the Champions League, as they are going to join Chelsea and Manchester City as the English league teams being kicked out.

perhaps if they had gotten at least two or three goals in the first leg at home then it would have been more easier for them to think about eliminating Barcelona, either by seeking a draw or losing with lesser margin, for you to beat a team like Barcelona you have to first defeat their mentality as well as demoralising them before you might get past them and I don't think Newcastle ever thought about this before going into this game.

We can experience such discussion towards who to lift the trophy and who not to reach final, because this is the time clubs use to do what they have not done before to make their fans happy. We saw what Arsenal players turned the second leg into, because that is the best way to clear people mind towards their future game because they were able to secured 2 goals in the second leg to move to their next level.

Now that majority of the strong clubs in the champion league that remain in the champion league tournament, many clubs will start sharing tears when they experience lost from their opponent, because anyone that fail to win their game it will be hard for them to escape in this period to determine who to lift this trophy.

Everything that could go wrong did go wrong for Galatasaray. Osimhen’s injury in the 8th minute left the team at a huge disadvantage playing a man down for the first half. Liverpool wasted countless clear cut chances but even so, the match still ended 4-0.

It’s certainly unfortunate that Osimhen had to be substituted for that reason. And that did indeed shake the team’s confidence from that moment on. Liverpool even seemed to find it easier to score goals after that. i also think the three goals scored in the second half were quite surprising, since they all happened in quick succession. galatasaray needs to improve their team so they don’t rely solely on one star player. they must maintain their confidence even if their star player has to be substituted or is absent due to injury. i think Galatasaray can be even better next season. I believe this team is motivated enough to keep improving their strength.

he is the heart of every single goal plan GS have, yet even after getting hurt, he stayed on. He was just wandering around clutching his arm, hoping for a lucky break to fall his way. It’s glaringly obvious there was no Plan B, especially since Icardi couldn't or didn't sub in for him. GS just kept hoofing long balls from the back and handing possession right back to them. To be honest, they are lucky they didn't concede more.
btw turns out he actually has a fracture in his arm, which explains why he was in so much pain. I was genuinely baffled watching it live wondering what was going wrong.

I don't think that Arsenal is facing an easy team in the Champions League quarter final, because the fact that they are still in this competition makes them a strong team. I was really impressed with they way Sporting defeated Bodo Glimt in the round of 16, so I don't think they are a pushover. Looking at this match on paper the odd will definitely favor Arsenal to qualify,  but I don't think its going to be that easy, although I also favor Arsenal to go through,  but they don't have to underrate their opponent, because I also believe that Sporting can cause them a lot of trouble in the match.

I'd have loved to be happier today after the last results in the CL. However we messed up a lot against Liverpool and got off lightly as well. The final score could have been much worse!

I can't predict who will advance to the semifinals yet, but Arsenal at least seems likely to advance to the Champions League semifinals, because faced a relatively weak team. However, it's difficult to predict who will advance to the semifinals for the other six teams, as the teams facing each other in the quarterfinals are evenly matched. Perhaps I can only predict who will advance to the semifinals after the results of the first leg. And there's a chance your prediction will come true in the Champions League semifinals.

Arsenal actually does look like they will make it beyond this stage and this is not to underestimate sporting actually but Arsenal has shown their capabilities that many believes in more than they will with sporting, another pick for me would be PSG, they appear to me like a better side than Liverpool in this fixture because they finished stronger then Liverpool did but I will still give them the benefits of doubt.

According to my prediction, the English team that narrowly lost away in the first leg is able to retaliate and is guaranteed to advance to the quarter-finals. Yes, they are Arsenal and Liverpool. I feel very confident about these 2 teams because their goal difference is very close. Unlike Tottenham, Chelsea, and Man City, they are certainly not advancing because they lost on aggregate goals. Next, the matches will be more difficult, the UCL leaves two EPL teams, three La Liga teams, one Bundesliga, one Ligue 1, and one Portuguese club. At least I’m pretty confident that Barcelona will win the match against Atlético Madrid. As for the Madrid vsBayern and Liverpool vs. PSG matches, I honestly can’t imagine how those two games will turn out. But it’s not that I’m underestimating Sporting. I just believe that, for now, Arsenal is slightly stronger than Sporting Lisbon. however, as you said, Sporting Lisbon isn’t a weak team. I just don’t think they’re as strong as Arsenal.
But well, since this is the quarterfinals, the true strength of all the teams is actually unpredictable. It’s even possible that Barcelona and Arsenal could suffer defeats. Atlético Madrid has also performed quite well in the UCL so far. But I think this quarterfinal round will be much like the Round of 16 there will be plenty of goals scored.

In every UCL title race, there is always that one team that defies the odds, the underdog that nobody really takes seriously until they pull off a big surprise and shock everyone. I think Sporting Lisbon might be on the verge of taking that role this time around. They may not be the favorites on paper, but they have shown enough quality to trouble bigger teams. Sometimes its not about big names, but timing, confidence & momentum and Sporting looks like a team that could surprise a lot of people if given the chance. Let’s just stay tuned and enjoy the show.

Paris Liverpool is the game who makes me more excited about it, i mean maybe Real Madrid against Bayer Munich is the best in terms of history names and the two are the real contenders to win this tournament, but i feel like we can witness a much fun to watch game on the Liverpool PSG, but if you ask me i think this PSG is gonna destroy Liverpool. Liverpool was mentally very well prepared and played exceptionally well against Galatasaray. Beating a Liverpool side that plays so well at home is already a very difficult task, and Galatasaray found itself in that situation. Sallai and Sara underperformed in this match, but even aside from that, Galatasaray couldn’t penetrate the opponent’s half.

Galatasaray’s morale dropped after conceding the second goal, and Liverpool capitalized on that situation very effectively. Their Champions League experience has been a major advantage in this regard. One of Galatasaray’s shortcomings is a lack of experience. However, above all else, one of the key factors was Liverpool’s strong performance.

Galatasaray won the first leg 1-0, but unfortunately, when visiting Liverpool, Galatasaray was unable to score a single goal. The Liverpool players looked very different from their usual self, full of confidence, and ultimately won with a fantastic 4-0 score. Looked like it was just the type of game Liverpool needed in order to stay as a whole and not have a big question mark on the whole season. They are terrible at premier league, spent half a billion dollars and not even in the top four of premier league and everyone was questioning their situation, at the very least they should have done better at UCL and losing that first game made people question Arne Slot and many of the players.

So in order to stay and not be fired, most of them tried to play their very best game. Difference between the clubs was that Galatasaray is not even half the value of Liverpool, so if Galatasaray loses nobody cares and still congratulates them, but if Liverpool lost then they would be in big trouble, hence both teams played basically according to that.

But if Arsenal can draw or win the  away match then they have a great chance to qualify for the semi-finals. But if Arsenal lose in the first leg, the road to semi-final  qualification will become very difficult for them.

It was an impressive win for Real Madrid as they were ahead in the first leg and the way they tried to win the second leg was like a top team. Manchester City were weakened by being reduced to 10 players and Real Madrid attacking players took advantage of that opportunity. But Manchester City was in weak points and tried hard but could not succeed. Because Real Madrid were confident and they were successful initially and they finally win. Now they have to wait for the quarter final match and improve their team's strength because the next opponent will be stronger.

What a draw! For me, the toughest feature definitely has to be the Real Madrid vs Bayern Munich game. Both teams have flexed muscles on multiple occasions in the past, and I can't wait to see who wins this time around. The bookies are favouring Bayern Munich to progress to the semi final, but after seeing what Real Madrid did to City, no one should underestimate Real Madrid. They just know how to step up on big occasions.
