There was a really interesting result in the Coppa Italia match yesterday...



Atalanta just destroyed Juventus!    I was never expecting such a score. I thought Juventus would even be the side to advance to semi finals. I mean they weren't struggling with organizing attacks.

The problem was finding the target. 2/13 only and 1 hit woodwork. There was no Kenan Yıldız as well which weakened their offense. Did Spalletti want to just rest him? He was on bench.

An interesting result, especially considering that Juventus had more possession of the ball (58 - 42 in their favor), shot at goal more (11 - 8 in their favor) and only lost to Atalanta in shots on target (2 - 4 in Atalanta's favor). When I saw the score, I thought Juventus were playing with a rotating lineup, but no, Atalanta just had better luck this time. For Juventus, this is a very painful defeat that underlines another disappointing season.

This is what happens when Spalletti underestimates Atalanta, whereas they have many good players on the bench but not played. The fans were deeply disappointed with this result, as their club lost so badly and Juventus' hopes of winning the Coppa Italia ended prematurely.

This is football for you sometimes you see unexpected results that springs up. I played this game goal goal but it did not go according to my prediction, the two sides were supposed to score in this game going by the pedigree of the two teams knowing that these two teams are big teams are big teams. But nice work by Atlanta putting out this type of performance even when their play maker Ademola lookman has departed the club. Nice one from Atlanta as Juventus was totally outplayed in this game.


One thing that Juventus should endeavor to do this season is trying to maintain form and be consistent with their play.because if Juventus keeps on playing this way of winning some games and losing with any form of consistency then it will be difficult for Juventus to qualify for the champions League next season.

The tempo killing technique is a smart move, which causes the opponent to lose his guard on several occasions when we apparently do not create a serious danger just to watch a match which appears to be monotonous. The ability to take advantage of the opponent not paying attention to my attack with a blistering offence and succeed is to me a testament to the extreme efficiency of the football game in modern times, where I do not necessarily need to win the passing statistic. You are correct in saying that the ultimate outcome is what truly matters more than the beauty of the game hence we can learn that patience in waiting before the appropriate time is a lethal ingredient to winning any game.

I've just watched the highlights of that game. Juventus started off really well, putting a lot of pressure on Atalanta. They had like 3 good scoring chances but couldn't convert any of them into goal. Then that handball happened and a penalty for Atalanta. After taking the lead, they could just focus on defence. They pressed a bit towards the end of the game, creating two chances and turning both of them into goals.
Not the prettiest performance, but I'm sure Atalanta's fans are not complaining.

The reason why the Italian clubs do "well" but usually not win the cups in the final at Europe is because of low pace and high defense they have. The quality of their defense is famous, while it is not as good as it used to be, it's still one of the best, but because they play defensively that means the game is not fast paced and usually just focusing on making sure they do not concede.

Sometimes that works and sometimes it doesn't, nowadays they even focus on offense a bit more too, but it's just not that easy to switch back and forth. This allows them to do well in Europe, like in champions league or Europa league, but it's also very tough to win the whole thing, doing fine because they play with minimal mistakes but also require a lot higher quality to win the whole thing.

So far they are kinda controlling the game by possession but Genoa looks very dangerous each time they attack with the ball.

Napoli have not been great lately and by any means they just have to win Today, well a win will still put them at 3rd but they will be very much closer to Milan. It been a rough second phase of the season for Antonio conte but at least getting a top for will be very much expected of the current holding champions.

Lucky because it would have been a disgrace if Napoli couldn't win a team close to the relegation zone, after many bettors had predicted that it would be a match win for Napoli to keep their top spot ambition going, to qualify for the Champions League next season. It would be somehow that the Serie A Champions last season, couldn't be among the top 4 teams of this season. Look at where Inter they battle the same top spot position last season, look at where they are currently, with the gap they are topping them with. Here is the statistics of the game, no body should think that Napoli were only lucky in this game because they dominated the game as they had sixty percent of the ball possession as while the home team got forty percent. Napoli even had better chances in front of goal as the were able to shots as opposed to Genoa having twelve shots on goal. In my personal opinion, I saw a Juve team that barely ran and put in the bare minimum effort. It's one of those matches that Juve shouldn't even record or save because they played extremely badly. I'm not judging Atalanta for me, they did what they had to do But Juve disappointed me with how they played. I saw them playing very poorly It was a boring match I'd rather go see a movie than continue watching such a dull game.
